Simi Pellet Grills

Eric is awesome!
I had purchased the Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone with WiFi soon after it became available in December 2014. I had only used it once or twice just to check it out and couldn’t wait for the promised firmware update to allow connection to my home WiFi network.
The firmware came about but I became frustrated with being unable to update the firmware. GMG must have been very busy because they did not answer their phones nor return my messages (which is unusual they are usually pretty easy to reach). Adding to my frustration is the problem with imprecise temperature measurements (when compared to a Maverick wireless remote thermometer).
Spoke with Eric who calmed me down and after listening to my problem recognized the problem right away as a control board with inadequate WiFi reception. He arranged for a new one to be sent to me and suggested getting a bigger antenna from Amazon which should take care of the problem.
Changing the control board was a snap and Voila! Firmware downloaded and now I can connect to the GMG Daniel Boone!
BTW Amazon has a SMA antenna from TP-​link (TL-​ANT2408CL) which is huge (like Tim Allen Tool TIme huge) and works great! It is only $ 6 – 8.
Customer support is the sort of thing you don’t really recognize as being important until you need it. I get the impression that Eric sells a lot of units for GMG and has a good relationship with them. Thankfully, Eric is one who stands by his customers and the products he sells!

So yes, I do give 5 stars, mostly because I’m am writing about someone or someplace that is worth writing about.
On the other hand, I will write about someone or someplace that should deserve 0 stars, although 1 star is the least you can give.
Eric at Simi Pellet Grills deserves 6 stars!
First impression is he is a nice guy.
He is a fireman and also sells motorcycle parts out of his motorcycle shop.
So business man, firefighter/​saves lives and property and loves to BBQ.
I can see why he is selling smokers and accessories, its not for the money, but the love of what he does in his life.
Eric dropped off my Yoder YS640 W/​comp cart in January 2015.
He even gave me 4 or 5 bags of pellets to start with.
He gave me several other things and didn’t charge me (Didn’t hear that from me!).
I don’t know too many people that go out of their way anymore to do something for someone, but Eric will be at the top of my list.
He dropped by several weeks later to bring my Tappecue as their were out of stock when I ordered it.
He would have dropped by again to deliver my cover, but I beat him to it and went out to Simi to pick it up. Now my house and Simi Pellet Grills is 60 miles away.
I was out at our sister company right down the street, so it was easy for me to walk over to see his new showroom. Oh BTW, his showroom is no longer at the motorcycle shop so make sure you get the new address and make sure he is going to be there if you visit. I got lucky and he was there this time.
Now I’m thinking instead of purchasing pellets online, I will probably just drive over and pick some up, or he also told me that his buddy in Glendora (much closer to me) also stocks pellets. Almost as cheap as purchasing a pallet full! Where am I going to keep 2000 pounds of pellets anyway?!

Got my pit barrel smoker from Eric. Works awesome! And the peach rosemary pellets for smoking that Eric supplied made my babyback ribs so good I almost slapped my wife. I would highly recommend Simi Pellet Grills to anybody.

I honestly don’t take the time to write reviews but this place honestly deserves some praise.
I purchase a Green Mountain Pellet grill from Simi Pellets about 4 months ago. This was my first GMG purchase and to be expected it was a little different then the traeger I was used to using. Eric helped me out with all my questions and really put the extra effort to ensure I was happy with my smoker. He has really gone above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did I get the best price I found in SoCal, I also got customer service that is truly exceptional. His prices on pellets are unbeatable and his selection is outstanding. Truly a hidden gem for any pellet smoker enthusiast.

I am not one just to throw 5 stars out for a business. Today I went in to Simi Pellet Grill in hopes to purchase a new grill.
I am a first time buyer of a pellet grill and have only done my research on line. I talked with Eric, the owner, who was extremely helpful and friendly. He has taken the time to get to know what he is selling. Eric took the time to explain to me what I was going to need to do upon arriving home with the grill. I am currently grilling a tri tip just to start out. If you are looking to purchase a Green Mountain Grill and live in the northern Los Angeles Area or Ventura County Area, Simi Pellet Grills is the place to go.
