I felt like I was conned. Guy went ahead & tested the car, which passed all tests easily, but right before taking my money informs me that I failed because I had an aftermarket K&N air filter… WTF!.. You could have told me that ahead of time! After replacing it with the OEM filter and returning a day later, he re-ran the whole test, and charged me full price again. Of course, as expected, there were absolutely no differences in the emissions numbers, from one air filter to another. I won’t be returning.

The guy charged me $ 42(after using a $ 15 coupon) to tell me my gas cap gasket was cracked and that I would fail smog. He tried to sell me a new gas cap. He told me after getting it replaced that I could come back and he would charge me half price to re-smog. UPDATE: So after getting a new gas cap I went back and worked with another guy(turned out to be the first guy’s son). The son was much better. Turns out it had nothing to do with my gas cap. He explained the issue my car was having was that my catalytic converter was not ready in I/M Readiness; and he explained how to solve the issue. I had to take my car through a «drive cycle» which differs for every car. After going through a drive cycle(driving for 50+ miles) I took it back and it still wasn’t ready. He said sometimes it has to sit overnight(cool down) after the drive cycle to finish. This seemed bizarre to me and I thought he was just trying to get rid of me. But I came back the next day(it was the father again that day) and everything was fine. My car passed. And somehow half price for the re-smog came out to be another $ 36. I’ve changed my 1 star rating to 2 stars on account of the helpfulness of the son and how he helped me pass(if for whatever reason you’re reading this, thank you). But I will not be going back here.

Felt like a total con. My car passed all of the emission tests with flying colors but the guy failed me on a visual inspection claiming I needed to replace a hose. Legally they can’t do the repair but he was quick to suggest that I go to his buddy for the replacement. My mechanic said the hose was fine, no signs of cracking, but replaced it so I could pass smog for $ 20 instead of the $ 50 – 60 suggested by this business. After paying $ 56 for the visual fail, they charged me another $ 35 to pass the smog. The second worker who helped me seemed normal, the first worker seemed like a total crook. Ultimately almost $ 100 for a smog test and a delay in passing that resulted in paying an extra fine to the state. Avoid this place.

I got ripped off. Went in with check engine light on not knowing that was an automatic fail. He could’ve said something but instead charged me $ 56 and then told me I failed.

Sam is a straight shooter. $ 49 out the door with the $ 15 off coupon. No bait & switch. Very straightforward. Not the friendliest at first but after asking a couple questions about him and the biz, he opened up.

Terrible! Avid this place at all cost. My car passed smog with flying colors but because of a perfectly legal modified part, the guy failed my visual. I just took it to another test center an hour later and passed. I lost $ 65 because of this newbie’s mistake…
