Stage 1 Music

Have taken guitar and bass lessons from Jon for years. He is great. My sons take drums (from Ken) and piano (from Chris) and are thrilled.
I also rent out rehearsal spaces for a band, which are fully equipped and with a tech on standby for assistance. Spaces are reasonably priced, clean and available for reservations
Couldn’t ask for more.

Excellent rehearsal studio. First rate equipment Drums, guitar and bass amps, loud PA’s, He even has some great new equipment for sale as well. They have it all. Rob and crew bust their butts making sure you have all you need for a great rehearsal. So glad I don’t have to drive to the valley !!!

I’ve been coming here since they first opened regularly… Best studio rehearsal rooms I’ve ever jammed in. Thanks studio One!

Rob has to be one of the nicest owners of any store out in the 805. Loves music and loves bands that start from nowhere get tight at stage one and become successful. Stage one is my go to jam facility for all my LA friends to meet me half way.

Great lessons for your kids! My son has been taking sax lessons for several months and we are very happy with the price and the quality of the lessons. Chrys is a great teacher!

This place rocks!!! the staff is great they have a quality back line so I just have to bring my guitar and we are ready to rock. They are always very accommodating and are, simply put, nice guys. This is a rare gem of a place. Clean, near tequila at the adjacent Mexican restaurant… awesome.

Simi Valley is a hard place to start a business. Stage 1 seems to be thriving and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
THE GOOD.
Stage 1 has really excellent gear that’s set up and ready to go when you get there. The rooms are great and there’s a good selection of sizes to suit your needs. If there’s any gear you do need once you get there, they’ve always been more than happy to help get you what you need.
Parking is a breeze as is load in as well. There’s also a CVS nearby for you singers who might need a little Dutch courage to get started.
Rob, whom I assume is the owner, is a great guy and has always been a real pleasure to work with. He’s always keen on accommodating his customer’s needs. He’s no nonsense but also no bull either. Great work! Keep doing business the way you’ve been doing business and you’ve got a lifetime customer here.
THE BAD.
There’s not really much to complain about at all — just be sure to book several days in advance as rooms fill up fast. Sometimes the rehearsal gods MIGHT look down upon you kindly and you’ll get a room on the same-​day but you’re better off scheduling in advance.

Best place to learn music. I recently started learning drums here with teacher Ken. What an excellent instructor he is! I can’t be more happier! He is a pro and very good at teaching. Very happy I found this place and Ken is my instructor. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place for any music learning enthusiasts.

Was introduced to Stage 1 Music on Simi Deals and would highly recommend. Place has been amazing! Customer service is top notch, with friendly staff. They even give a weekly reminder call of your upcoming lesson. Sining instuructor, Leota, is a real GEM, she is patient and makes learning to sing fun. Highly recommend this place!

I don’t often write Unilocal reviews anymore. These guys deserve one. The place is always clean and everyone who works there is pleasant and accommodating. The gear is pretty nice, too. Orange County drumkits in most rooms and a decent selection of amps to play on. The thermostat always works and the bathroom is clean. This is a great place to play music. I’m not in a band but my friend and I come for a few hours every month and mess around. The staff is kind enough to not let us know just how terrible we sound. Haha!
I recommend Stage 1 to anyone who wants a nice place to jam. Plus, it isn’t in the valley! The other nice thing is that there is a CVS nearby to stock up on water or snack and there are some places to eat nearby.

We love Stage 1 Music! We started there several months ago with a Simi Deal for voice lessons for our daughter and haven’t stopped since! Emma is a wonderful vocal coach who is kind and very patient. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with our daughter. She has learned so much and has gained a great deal of confidence when she sings. So glad we found this place. We highly recommend it for voice lessons!

I arrived during their posted business hours to find them not open. Called several times from outside only to get a recording with no further information on it.
