Tapo Pharmacy

I really try and go to the local pharmacy and refrain from the commercial chains. I’m fairly new to the area and have been going here for the past year. While the prices are fair the staff is just so rude. Specifically, a lady named Marla who works the phones and front desk. She is very condescending and acts like you are such an inconvenience to her. I have had nothing but problems with her. She has refilled old prescriptions under my name that I never even ordered. For instance I called to refill my thyroid medication, yet when I got home there was also an RX of an old birth control RX I had. I’m pregnant, so I would never order that. Another complaint is that no one goes over the medication with you. I was given 2 new medications and no one explained to me how to take them and there were no details on the bottle. I took them incorrectly for 2 months! I thought that by going to a local pharmacy you would be treated like a person and get more personalized service by friendly staff. This place just rushes you in, rushes you out, gives you things you don’t need and provides no explanation on medications. I would have been better off at Rite Aid! I won’t be back.

I’ve been dealing with Al for over 30 years and found him and his staff to be honest, caring and professional. His prices are fair and very competitive. Great pharmacy!!!

RUDE people!!! My family and I have been going to this pharmacy for years! And in my adult life I’ve been going there as well just because that’s where I’ve always gone but no more! I would rather pay a little bit more if I have to and go to the target or cvs pharmacy than deal with these RUDE people!!! Every time I call to fill a Perscription or refill no matter WHO I talk to they sound like they hate their life and they’re just flat out RUDE!!! They always ask me for the perscription # and I never have it because they don’t think to put a sticker on the actual medication just the piece of paper that I’m sure we all either throw away or don’t have with us when calling in a refill and they always seem so annoyed at that, and practically hang up on me before I am finished talking every time! No thank you, have a good day, NOTHING!!! If you want to be treated like crap go to Tapo pharmacy if no I highly recommend NOT, I won’t be anymore, they’ve disrespected me far too many times!!!

Rude, condescending and unkind. Our regular pharmacy was closed and we needed my 80 yr old Mom’s pain medicine ASAP. I was calling local pharmacies to see if I could find the prescription in stock (a controlled substance) and when I called this pharmacy, the young man on the phone told me that he could not tell me on the phone if they had it in stock or not. Regardless, I told my sister, who had the prescription, to try here anyway. When she went into the store, he took the prescription and went into the back, then came back out and told her that he would not fill the prescription because the prescribing doctor was «out of the area». Our doctor is in Tarzana, which is in the next valley over, and he would not even call to check on the validity of the prescription! He was then very condescending when my sister began asking questions to try to understand why he would not help us. Fortunately, we found a CVS pharmacy that filled the prescription that night and my Mom did not have to do without her pain medicine.
This conduct and attitude is very unprofessional and quite unnecessary. In today’s world of instant information with internet access, he could have easily looked up our doctor’s information, called the office and made some effort to do his job. I will NEVER go to this pharmacy again.

Great pharmacy! We find everything we need here and they even order medications if they don’t have them available (try that at CVS or Walgreens), Al is an institution in Simi Valley and this pharmacy has been around for the past 40 years! Conveniently located outside the Simi Hospital.
