AWESOME!!! Whether we go just for appetizers and drinks or out with the whole family for a special occassion, we always leave smiling… with a to-go box in hand(due to the very generous portions). The staff is excellent in making sure you are 100% pleased… Frank assures this by walking by and saying«Hi» and checking on the table. I can’t believe people would give Frank’s 2 stars… just give it another chance!!! Heck, he might even buy ya a drink or wave to you on the Casey !!! :)

The turkey dinner is great. Made with real turkey, not lunch meat like a lot of other restaurants. Super hot boneless wings are great too.

One of my favorite local places to go for dinner! They have a GIANT menu and nothing on it disappoints. They truly have something for everybody. They have the BEST prime rib you’ll get anywhere. Their buffalo nachos make a fantastic appetizer — but be prepared to share because it is a huge portion. They make everything great, from burgers & wings to steaks & seafood or even pasta dishes and salads. Always excellent service. My only complaint is that their takeout is not nearly as good as their in house food. For some reason the quality isn’t as good and something always seems to be forgotten. I wouldn’t recommend ordering out, but if you have the chance to go in — don’t miss it.

The staff and service was great. I would give them a 4 or 5. The room we sat in had a banquet hall feel with sliding panels for when they need to make part of the room private. Because of all the great things we heard online and from others in the area, we went there expecting a great meal and everyone tried something different and we shared the appetizer sampler as well. The best anyone could say was the food was average. Steak, Prime Rib, Short Rib, Burger, Hot Wing Hoagie, regular wings and Buffalo Shrimp and nothing stood out as good to anyone, just average. Maybe they were just too busy. Between the 6 of us we had to share 2 menus because they ran out of them. My wife really wanted to like this place, but I don’t think we will be making the trip again.

Just go there. Great food. Great staff. Get the wings! White pizza with shrimp extra garlic, whoa! Chili cheese steak they call by some special frank name but holy smokes it is awesome. Even around philly or NY this place would rock for depth and breadth of menu at twice the price.

Tremendous food! I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve been a patron for about a dozen years. You get quality and quantity rolled into one. Pretty good beers on tap too!

Make sure you have a reservation if you don’t want to wait one hour to eat :(food is good but they tell you 25 minutes but then one hour later they still keep you waiting. At least be honest about how long the wait is.

I would 5-star because I love this place but my most recent meal(prime rib special) was subpar. I go here with larger crowds usually and we always have an amazing time. It’s a nice place to go to for a well-portioned meal. Beer selection is impressive enough. Keeping this one short and sweet … KNOW what YOU are in the mood to eat before you come here because looking through this menu without an idea of that could seem like a chore in itself. I won’t nitpick on particular meals but I do recall being pleased the majority of the time I come here.

Well I have a new favorite restaurant. I have lived in numerous places in the U.S. and this is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at. It is also so reasonably priced! I had the tuna steak, mashed potatoes, and veggies. My mother had the salmon and my father had chicken and pasta. All the meals were amazing. I can’t wait to go back to try more!

This place is so odd! It’s in – what feels like — the middle of nowhere. It looks like a house. It smells like a bar. The menu is overwhelming. It looks like it is stuck in the 1960s. AND I LOVEDIT! I had a prime rib sandwich that was incredible. How can one slice of meat topped with peppers, onions and cheese be so good? Delicious. I then had a peanut butter pie for dessert that made me weep. I am giving this four stars because of what it is. I mean, come on, it’s not really fine dining! But the food was SPOTON. They are one good renovation and one deep cleaning away from being perfection.

Best place around. the menu is huge with lots of choices but that doesn’t take anything away from the food. the food is delicious! The place is kind of small and tight inside but it’s cozy. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large.

I cannot believe the people whining about the menu. Yes, it takes time to decide, but that’s because everything is freshly made an absolutely scrummy. If you go out with a group, everyone can find something they like. I’ve never had a bad(or even borderline) meal at Frank’s. I’ve eaten around the menu & have been impressed with everything from fish, to pasta, to beef, to ribs, to sandwiches, to etc, etc. I have favorites from every section of the menu, but hands down my favorite is the black & blue steak – blackened flank & Gorgonzola – yum! And, when you order red meat they do it right. I usually ask for mine to Moo & that’s what walks to my plate(but not bleeding, because they know enough to let it sit & absorb). The portabella stuffed ravioli w/vodka sauce!!! OMG. The atmosphere is wonderful – just a local place, filled with locals(& newbies who are treated like locals). The waitstaff is perfect for the atmosphere, friendly(even on the busiest night) & not stuffy or caustic. I’ve seen them handle a table of 10 with nary a missed order, & they’re attentive without being annoying. You ask for it, you get it. And now, they have parking!!!

I have lived in this area for a LONG time and this was always a nice place to go. The place has been renovated and the ceilings made higher to give it a bigger sense because when I used to come there it felt very cramped and dingy because of the amount of regulars there. I love the place and it’s food but they have to tone the menu down. All the food is delicious and priced well, but only if you can actually find something you want because the menu is the size of an encyclopedia. The staff is friendly and quick and the food is well priced.

Hard review to write. Salad and bread were good. My pasta with chicken and a blush sauce was pretty good, but my husband had red sauce with his entrée and it was awful.

I usually 100% agree with Chef Robert Irvine on Restaurant Impossible when he reprimands the owners of a restaurant for having pages and pages of menu. It becomes overwhelming on a customer to leaf through all of that, second guessing themselves at every turn. With that said, I’d go in there specifically in the mood for one thing, and then order that very thing because trust me, they WILL have it. I’ve only ever ordered the rib eye steak because I guess once I was able to land on something(my first time done by a panicky narrowing down between 4 items when the waitress turned to me), I didn’t want to switch it up. The steak and side of veggies is cooked perfectly(and only like 12 bucks!) and the salad and bread/breadsticks is nice when it’s included. My family has ordered other items(stuffed salmon, pizza, etc.) and all have been very pleased with their choices. The atmosphere is really friendly and has a nice neighborhood, everyone-knows-everyone kind of feel which is great. If you can get past the enormity of the menu choices, you’re in for a real treat– and without emptying your wallet.

Ok, We recently moved to the area… Not a lot of choices for eveing dining in the area… So, we decided to try Franks, mainly based on the reviews here on Unilocal. Wow, all I can say is Frank must have a big family! However, I think the reviews come from comparison of the local market, not the quality over all. The most interesting thing is the story of Frank’s which is published in the book when you sit down… Yep, I said book. That has to be the biggest menu that I have ever seen! 23 appetizers, not counting wings or pierogies! After those two pages there are 16 salads. 16! And a whole page«for the kids»! Then there are like 7 more pages… burgers, wraps, fajitas, seafood, sandwiches grinders, steaks, ribs, Italian, hoagies, «in the basket», pizza, desserts and more! Seriously, I knew I was in trouble when there were fajitas and Italian Favorites on the same menu. Oh, don’t forget the Polish Pierogies! Really, what would you call that? Mexitalish? Come on Frank, when you try to please everyone you end pleasing none! This is a place in desperate need of Gordon Ramsey. Pick something and be the best at it and people will come from all over; as it stands it’s just not as bad as some of the other local joints. Would I go back? I don’t think so… I’ll make the drive down the road to something better!

This is my favorite restaurant! I visit NEPA numerous times a year and I can hardly wait to get to Franks. The Perogies are AMAZING!!! My fav meal is the Shrimp Scampi however most every other entrée I have ever had here is great too!(FYI any Seafood entrée at Franks is super fresh. more so then most expensive seafood restaurants. This always amazes me because the restaurant is located on a back road in a tiny town! This shows the detail and quality of the food!) The Wings(not boneless) are a must have as well. The menu is huge so everyone in your party will have no problem finding something they want. The portions are also huge! So be ready for leftovers! Rice pudding is a great way to finish it all off — if you still have room for dessert! :)

Great food and service. Steak and ribs were excellent. Was able to meet Frank the owner and he was very pleasant. I had the steak and ribs and enjoyed the meal. Salad and other courses were excellent. Great spot to eat if you find yourself in NE Pennsylvania.

This is a gold mine in an old mining town! You need a drink just to settle in and read the encyclopedia sized menu. If this menu does not meet your craving something is wrong. DONOTLEAVE without trying the homemade perogies. You can buy them to take home as well. The sandwiches, pasta and chicken are a good choice. I am looking forward to going back and trying a steak! For desert the chocolate chip cookie al a mode is warm and melts in your mouth.
