Fresh, expensive for what you get. No drink refills. Catfish full of bones. Wasted more than ate. Not my kind of place.

I have tried this restaurant several times both in store and take out. I’ve probably been 5 times as they are new so I wanted to give them a chance to get all the kinks worked out. Well I am done with this place. The menu food is too high for what you get. The flavor is fine on everything I’ve had but was just too expensive for the quality and volume of food. I just got their New Year’s «special». It was special all right. $ 8.99+tax for a 16oz. side order size cup of mostly rice, a few black eyed peas, a couple of collards only 3 pieces of sausage that were less than a single bite for my 4yr old son. Don’t waste your money. Flavor is great but not worth the money.

I am truly glad I don’t have to drive 500 miles back to Mississippi to get my fried catfish. Now I just drive a few miles down the road. Love their catfish filets. Fried shrimp too. Finally a place that knows how to cook fried seafood. Hubby says that the rest of the food is great too. Maybe one day when I get my fill I will try something else! Connie and her staff really make you feel at home. This is True Fish Camp food.

This is the place to go if you want GOOD fried seafood in a relaxed environment. My wife and I’ve been here four times and have never been disappointed. We always get the seafood platter catfish and double shrimp. It takes a while to get your food, but it’s always fresh. Don’t forget the house special sauce tangy with a kick

Did a take out order. A little slow but, hey, it’s not a drive thru! It was worth the wait. You can’t get better fried catfish anywhere! Friendly hometown feel. We will be back; both take out and dine in. Outstanding!

Went here for dinner with my husband. It’s super casual, small and friendly. I had the flounder po’ boy(on the menu with catfish only but they didn’t mind subbing flounder for me.) it was delish; done just right with their special sauce. My husband liked his fried catfish/shrimp combo platter. We thought everything was very fresh. This was a good all around fish fry; no complaints at all.

Southern Catch is our favorite casual seafood place. Anyone ordering the shrimp platter couldn’t possibly ever be disappointed. The shrimp is out of this world; lightly breaded and fresh and snappy; hush puppies are out of this world and coleslaw a very taste family recipe. What they lack in variety they more than make up for in homemade touches.

Pretty much as described. Have been here twice now. They use cornmeal batter for the catfish which I like. I asked for my fries to be crisped up and they obliged. It’s casual, fairly quick, a little out of the way, but ok. There aren’t many places around here for good Fish Camp food like in Florida. This one is holding its own and hopefully will make it. They seem to do quite a bit of takeout business, but I would worry about how good it would be as a reheat or cold.

If you’re going to do something, do it right. Southern Catch won’t blow you away with a menu full of options. It won’t woo you with trendy décor. What the folks at Southern Catch do is casual seafood and they do it right. I always have high hopes for family establishments like this. Unfortunately, few live up to my expectations. Southern Catch is a rare exception. My shrimp poboy was excellent and I was pleased to see it was served on great bread. The slaw was tasty, my tea was fresh and the hush puppies were fantastic. The staff was friendly, attentive and eager to get our feedback. The only miss on my plate was their choice in fries. They were fine but i’ve never been a fan of the crinkle cut variety. Since most of this kitchen revolves around the fryer I think there is room for improvement here. Switching over to hand cut fries would push this place to 5 stars and land it squarely in the foodie camp. I’m excited to have this gem just a couple miles away and I’m thankful it’s a bit off the beaten path or I’d never get a seat!
