If there was a way to give ZERO stars I would. This is a grease-pit! We had just moved in the neighborhood and wanted a meat and three type comfort food restaurant. When we reviewed the menu online we were so excited!!! Then we walked in. It’s very basic but some of the best restaurants are«hole in the walls». We both ordered and the food that was presented looked like leftovers that day under a warmer from the week prior. It was inedible. We paid the check and left as the waitress did not see anything wrong with this headlamp cooked frozen food!

We eat at the Spice Diner at least once, sometimes twice a week. This is our go to place after Saturday soccer games with friends. We have been eating here for at least ten years and have rarely been disappointed. The food is always good and the quality is consistent from visit to visit. The grilled chicken kabobs are my favorite. Definitely recommend The Spice Diner to anyone looking for good food at a good price.

The food was superb. The service and speed were great. The prices are fantastic. Great dinner close to Five Forks. Very convenient. Biggest downside is making a left out of the parking lot during busy times.

Cheap food fast is the best way to describe this place! Servers always have a look of hatred and murder on their faces. They should change their name from diner. It is a same level as Denny’s. Ordered a gyro and it came with two slices of meat and probably a cup of tzaziki sauce.

Time to let Spice Diner go. We hadn’t been in for about six months so I read the reviews and decided to give it a chance. It has always been what you expect from a diner — homestyle meat & three, lots of fries, etc. As we walked in, we confirmed what I had read on Unilocal. It was not busy yet tables were not cleared and floor was trashed. the waitress Jeannie is a mumbler and literally turns away from you as she grabs the menus back. She has always been a grouch and we wonder why she has been there so long with such a sour expression and bad attitude. As we waited for our food, I noticed the dead flies on the sill next to the tables, the filthy fixtures and fans and the dirty ceiling tiles. even the blinds have food splatter on them. It is definitely time for a refurbishment. We sadly will not be back because its best years are behind it and It appears the owner does not know about Unilocal. If he did then he would know what happened to his customers.

Great food, family oriented, hot, right, accommodating! I would always recommend Spice to friends & family and even strangers… It’s one of those family owned diamond in the roughs that’s out in the middle of nowhere. as I started with, I have been going since it opened about 13 years ago… Many staff have been there, the food has always been great, the servers are very knowledgeable, the owner is always present and makes rounds to every table. He knows his business and will make sure you are taken care of.

Not impressed. We just moved to Simpsonville, SC from Pennsylvania. We fell into this diner since it is convenient from our new home and had some good reviews. When we walked in, there were about 4 tables with dirty dishes on them. They looked as if they had been laying there for a long time. The place was nearly empty. My wife immediately said that she thought coming here was a mistake and that we should just move on. But I wanted to give it a try since it is the local diner near us. The food was average at best. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro. It wasn’t bad, but definitely nothing special. We had an authentic greek diner/restaurant where we just moved from. Their gyros were do die for. This one couldn’t compare. I asked to substitute onion rings for the french fries. They were horrible and I left all of them on the plate: Battered, soggy, and very greasy. My wife had the Rueben. Again, nothing special. It had russian dressing in it, but they also loaded it with mustard. It was okay. Mustard AND russian together probably would not have been my first choice. My two kids both ordered the cheeseburger. Again, run-of-the-mill. Nothing special. In the end, it was a very average meal at best. The atmosphere in the place was not great. The young servers were very ambivalent . We won’t be back again. Way too many other choices for great food, ambiance, and service in this area.

So the wait staff isnt the nicest. It is cheap food. A meat and three place. I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of Wade’s. I got the pot roast(very salty) the mac and cheese and the pintos. But not sure we will be back. The food is so-so.

We eat here once or twice a week. Never had a bad meal and always get more than what we pay for. The staff there are super friendly, and George(owner) is always there with a big smile. Lucky we have a «go too«restaurant this close to our house. Oh yeah and Jenna is great too.

If you like salt and unremarkable food at low prices then this place is for you. The service was acceptable but the food was… well, simply ordinary.

This is what burgers dream of becoming when they grow up! George, the owner, is a marvelous guy. He will take very good care of you. The food is prepared with love. It is worthy of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. If it weren’t for the fact it would get too busy I would submit them for consideration. As is, I love the local feel of the place. Sweet tea as if it were wept by angels. There isn’t a bad thing on the menu. Dine in or take out the food is incredible.

The Spice Diner is what a diner is supposed to be. It’s clean and bright with friendly servers and family ownership on site at all times. If you aren’t family, you’re treated like such when you visit here. It’s a place where friends meet friends and enjoy good comfort food. There’s something for everyone with over 80 items on the menu. Choose from old standbys like country fried steak, meatloaf, pot roast, burgers, fries and melts. I recommend the more exotic chicken gyro«half and half». There’s nothing fancy here, just good home cooking served up with large portions, reasonable prices and friendly service.

Walked into the place knowing it was a diner, expecting basically what we got. Pretty good food nothing fancy, good value for the money. I think we got the same waitress that somebody else complained about, kind of abrupt not very friendly.
