The best Hot and Sour Soup… Not just in Simsbury, but in Connecticut… Not just in Connecticut, but in New England… Not just… OK, OK, you get the picture. Soup always serves pipping hot, which I prefer. Ying is a great lady, friendly and generous. So far, between my hubby and I, we’ve tried sweet and sour pork(& chicken), egg foo young, general tso chicken, beef teriyaki and eggrolls. All is GREAT!

Ordered online and took an hour and a half to arrive. The crab rangoons had about a teaspoon of filling in it. It was like eating a puff of oil. DISGUSTING. Everything was extremely greasy and tasted like oil. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Excellent, as a boarding school student I find myself ordering Chinese food about once or twice a week meaning that when ever I order Chinese I always order from Main Moon. The chicken lo mein and the steamed dumplings are a newly found favourite of mine. The price is right for the huge portions I could definitely recommend ordering from here. Nothing screams movie night weekend like Main Moon Chinese food.

First time to visit for me and it won’t be the last! Everything was spectacular. I got the pork fried rice with ckn wings. My husband ordered general Tso’s ckn it it was amazing!!! The best ckn wings I’ve ever eaten!!! The prices are phenomenal. So happy to know this amazing restaurant is just down the street from us! I can’t wait to try everything they have on the menu. I ordered a cup of the wonton soup as well and am so glad I did. This is my new go to for good eats! Everyone was super friendly, polite and prompt. See you next week!

Let’s start with the most important part of the review… the food. Its EXCELLENT! We’ve been here several times now and every time it’s been perfect. The chicken wings are awesome(always crispy and light). The wontons are hand made. The lunch specials are HUGE for only $ 5.95 — $ 6.95. The veggies are steamed and never overcooked. Every dish has been great and everything is priced so you don’t break the bank. There’s plenty of parking in front and on the street in front and side. Great part of town as well(right in the heart of Simsbury). Make sure to ask for Leo The owners are always there and are very very pleasant. There’s not a ton of seating inside so plan ahead of you want to eat there.

Love the food here! It takes awhile to cook but it is worth the wait. Highly recommend the boneless spare ribs!

This place is still awesome! Delivery is always fast, staff is always very courteous and they remember you(like your whole order by your phone number)! The food is delicious and they have plenty of options. I will not shy away from Main Moon anytime soon!

Ordered delivery. I like that you can place the order directly online through their website. Very handy! We ordered a soup, scallion pancakes, general tsaos chicken and tofu, and the crunchy noodles with sweet and sour sauce. It wasn’t the best Chinese food I ever ate, and definitely not the worst. I would order from here again on a lazy day when I don’t want to leave the house!

With the right expectations, Main Moon is perfect for your cheap Chinese takeout needs. Even amongst the vaunted wealth of Simsbury Center, they do not price gouge here by any means; a big dinner for $ 8 – 10 a person is just as easily achieved here as most anywhere else. For those that don’t want to think too hard about what they want, they feature«Family Dinner Specials,» multi-course combinations that will accommodate parties as small as two, and as large as, get this, NINE people. It being New Year’s Eve, my wife and I were definitely in low-brain-power mode, so we went for the two-person Family Dinner. Two wonton soups, two egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, chicken & broccoli, white rice, fried rice. More than enough food for two. Small criticism — would be nice if you could select your entrees, rather than just taking the two they choose. But we still did great for $ 15.99. It was New Year’s Eve at 7:30PM, we were in and out in under 30 minutes, and the girl at the counter gave us her most enthusiastic«Happy New Year!» Grace under pressure, and a nice last meal of 2014.

Great food, always been happy with the food here. Is it the greatest in the world? No. Is it the worse? No, but it’s worth the money and worth the visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Unfortunately, I must amend my previous 5 star rating. The past 3 times we have ordered have been less than stellar. The portions are suddenly smaller, the orders have been wrong the past 3 times, they specified 45 mins for delivery and took 1hr 15 mins to 1.5 hrs and we live 2 – 3 miles away. Once they promised to re-send the correct order, but it never arrived and they didn’t call. Really disappointing. We used to order every other week. I don’t know what happened, but now, we are considering not ordering from here again. Previously: This is perfect Friday night I-don’t-want-to-cook Chinese take out food. It’s perfect. It’s consistent. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. Our kids LOVE the Pu Pu platter, the pork dumplings, the pork fried rice, etc.

Awesome«American» Chinese food. The people in their are always super friendly and the service has gotten much better(they speak much better English now). Food is always hot, fresh and tastes great. If you’re in the mood for this type of Chinese this is the best place in town to get it.

Gross and greasy. And my pad Thai was red. The only plus is that it’s cheap and delivery is fast. This is late-night Chinese food for when you’re feeling a bit desperate.

Great menu selection. They have all of your basic Chinese fare with a few additions. You are able to order online, which is a huge selling point for me. It makes ordering in large groups easier and ensures that the order is correct. The family the runs the restaurant is very friendly. My boyfriend and I go there to pick up our food just to make sure we can tip the little girl that work behind the counter.

The very last resort for Chinese take-out in town. Standard fare and dependable, but never a standout. Hot and Sour soup is a teense tame and watery. Lo Mein is good. Chicken and broccoli is good. Dumplings are good. But we’ve had them all better a zillion times. Parking in that teeny strip mall can be a challenge. The ultimate«Meh»…
