Absolutely god awful food! My wife and I were very excited to dine here and quickly realized we made a major mistake. For the cost the food here we could have went somewhere that served quality food that was edible.

Pricy but the food is good. Located in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. I’d go here JUST to dine on their beautiful outdoor seating area on their deck. Perfect lunch stop.

My husband and I have been a patron of Metro Bis as long as we can remember, and JUST realized that we have never posted a review.(Shame on us!) The atmosphere is very elegant, yet cozy. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and always willing to please. I have NEVER had a meal at Metro Bis that has disappointed me. There is typically something for everyone, and Chris is always willing to make adjustments based on dietary restrictions. This is the place that I choose every year to celebrate my birthday, which is also(typically) one of THE worst nights of the year to eat out — Christmas Eve. I have found that, even on an extremely busy evening like Christmas Eve, the team still knocks it out of the park and makes our entire group feel like we are very important to them. We have introduced many people to Metro Bis and no one has ever left unhappy. Typically, our guests ask what we recommend and our answer is that everything is great. Although, my eyes do widen when I see Chris’ lobster whipped mashed potatoes on the menu and I fondly remember sending my husband off to get lobster whipped mashed when I was pregnant with our daughter and had a craving. My husband and I try to avoid desserts, and at other restaurants will tend to share something if we see something intriguing on the menu. At Metro Bis there is NOWAY that I am willing to share my dessert — flourless chocolate cake and the bread pudding are my favorites. Side Note, I noted«not sure» for the attire because the team at Metro Bis doesn’t seem concerned with your clothing, they just want you to come in for a visit! We have seen people in everything from jeans and sneakers to suits and dresses, and everything in between.

I stayed at the Simsbury house this past weekend the house is beautiful and absolutely loved it. The restaurant inside is nice and charming matching the house but the food is just okay and very over priced. Not saying food was bad just nothing I’d rave about for $ 30 a plate.

Eaten there a few times now. Beautiful old home/inn. Very intimate and or romantic setting. The food is ok, bit for, the price I’d expect higher quality. Service every time I’ve been there has been lacking. It’s the type of service you would expect at Applebee’s

My wife and I recently dined at Metro Bis for the first time despite being in the Simsbury area for several years and were extremely satisfied with our dinner. Started with the crab cocktail and the Metro greens salad, both were well done, highly recommend the crab. For dinner my wife had the beef tenderloin, which was delicious although she asked for it med well and it was closer to well than med. I had the short rib — fork tender and thoroughly enjoyed each bite along with the well balanced risotto that accompanied it. Save room for dessert — Bread pudding and apple tart were fantastic. The pastry was done to perfection in a moat of caramel, lick your plate good! Our server was very pleasant and offered recommendations on request. She also clearly takes pride in the food and experience as she regretfully informed us she wasn’t comfortable serving up the crème brûlée as it wasn’t properly set when we were ordering dessert. Overall great atmosphere, food and service. Can’t wait for our next meal here.

Metro Bis served fabulous delicious food and wine at my daughter’s wedding reception last weekend. The staff was wonderful. Courtney F. Is the BEST! No detail was forgotten. She even helped me play a little joke on my brother –in-law who loves pie more than life! The place is gorgeous and clean. We are so happy that we chose Metro Bis! Sincere thanks to every person involved in our cherished memories.

I had the tenderloin steak, which was good, but the restaurant seemed to focus a lot on seafood(octopus, 2 salmon dishes, scallops, and cod) for a french restaurant and as seafood is not my favorite thing this was a bit annoying. What I had was nice, but for some reason they put natural onion rings with the tenderloin and extremely salty mashed potatoes. A good meal, but a bit low quality for the restaurant.

Just had Thanksgiving meal at Metro Bis. Very Very mediocre. Food was boring and lukewarm. Reminiscent of school cafeteria food. A real disappointment. Nothing special at all — as if the chef didn’t care. Extremely over priced as well. Would have gladly paid the price(about $ 50 per person for 3 courses) for something a little more memorable. Very disappointing. The one good thing about the experience was the delightful staff. Too bad the food is so sub par. They lost a lot when they moved locations. Won’t be going back…

Mediocre restaurant at best. For whatever reasons the food was better at its’ former location. Service was good because there were not many people there. The pork was tough and thin. The Thai spring rolls were tasteless and salty. Ambience was well old and musty. Definitely our last trip to Metro Bis. Gordon Z

Four of us from out-of-town enjoyed a delicious lunch on the porch last week. The food was superb, service attentive, and ambiance fantastic. It was a pleasurable experience, and I hope to return again soon. Everything about this restaurant/B&B is perfectly done. When a wine glass spilled, they replaced it graciously without additional cost. The white chocolate bread pudding was divided so they presented three separate plates, beautifully presented to each of us. Each plate was a more that adequate serving. In addition, it was simply delicious. I highly recommend Metro Bis as a delightful dining experience.

I was excited to go there and try something new. I was disappointed but I also was not«WOWed». We were definitely the youngest people there. The staff was nice but nothing extra. We had appetizers, main course and desserts. The side dishes had more flavor than the main dish. The vegetables and risotto were very good and fresh. I don’t think I would go back. It wasn’t bad but it always did not stand out at all.

It’s been a long time since I have been to Metro Bis(and not since they have been in the new location). There were three of us, we had the Sea bass special, salmon and steak. As well as salads and deserts. All of the food was prepared as asked and it was all excellent. The woman who waited on us(I think her name is Elaine) was clearly a seasoned professional and was charming and responsive. Not sure what her salary may be, but you may want to double it to keep her locked in. Rare to find someone that good.

Enjoyed the speciality 3 course Easter dinner here today! Service was wonderful — our servers name was Elaine. She was so lovely and very accommodating! She even remembered my grandma who had come here a few months back and knew exactly what she had ordered for lunch! Anyways, the speciality menu for today was great — it had something for everyone. Personally, I enjoyed the crispy thai spring rolls for the app, the pan seared salmon with pea risotto for the entrée, and the maple white chocolate bread pudding for dessert — everything was DELICIOUS. The salmon was cooked absolutely perfectly, I don’t think I’ve ever had a better cooked piece of salmon in my life. The only thing I would say is that some of their dishes seemed to be a little heavy on the salt, but my taste buds might just have thought that because I don’t use much salt at home. Other than that tiny thing, the whole meal was fabulous! We had mad a reservation for six and we were pleasantly surprised with our own private dining room near the patio! Also pictured here I have my dad’s rack of lamb that he ordered along with the Caesar salad.

I had heard about Metro Bis mainly from The Faith Middleton show. I was in the area during the day and decided to stop for lunch. The building its located in is unique and has a very diverse range of seating options.(You’re basically in the first floor of an old house/inn.) Outdoor seating is an option on nice days. I ordered the Pork Sandwich off of the lunch menu. It was good, refined, not the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Served with fires for under $ 10 it was a good value and the servers were very attentive. I plan on coming back for dinner to really see what Metro Bis has to offer.

We’ve had some exquisite meals here but there is one standing out among the rest. Their Pad Thai is, by far, the best in our area. I’ve tried Pad Thai in every restaurant from Canton, Farmington, Avon and parts of Simsbury. Metro Bis has won my vote. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed after a meal at Metro Bis.

Simsbury has a lot of competition for best restaurant. Millwrights and Mill at 2T are no slackers. But you know what? I’ll say it: Metro Bis is stronger than ever with the move. First off, the new space is awesome. Has that country inn feel to it with an elegant flair. More importantly, there is space for diners to eat. Mutliple dining rooms are a nice touch. Service was also terrific. Knowledgable waitstaff. The usual. And then there is the food. Besides just the pita with creamy hummus, the food was outstanding. I had the tuna tartare which was amazingly fresh and unique. Other dining companions had salads or crab cakes. No one left much on their plates. For the main course, the chef had Connecticut River Shad on the menu. It’s only in season for a few weeks so I asked the waiter — is it good? He said yes, but he also said what I was thinking: Of course try it. It’s only on for a few weeks. Boy am I glad I did! While the fish is a stronger one, it had such a rich full flavor with texture and without being too greasy. Add some fresh spring vegetables and this was a heavenly«spring» dish. The salmon was also done just right and the flat iron steaks were a big hit too. Desserts never disappoint here and the white chocolate bread pudding(which I shared — so they brought it out on two plates — nice touch) was sweet without being too rich. Overall, Metro Bis has never disappointed me food wise. Now with the setting to boot, it continues to make the competition for best in Simsbury(and frankly, in the Hartford-area) very tough indeed.

Came here with a group of relatives visiting from another country. I wanted to go somewhere fancy, so I choose Metro Bis… and I am glad I did! Service was on point. Our waiter, Brian, was timely and had some good jokes! The food was on a whole other level. I ordered the salmon, and I can easily say it was the best salmon I have ever had in my life. As a fish love and self acclaimed foodie, this means a lot! I love this place, but can not afford it often. It is definently a great place to go as a treat on special occasions. I would highly recommend Metro Bis to everyone!

Metro Bis’ new home is inside the Simsbury 1820 House at 731 Hopmeadow Street. The new location is gorgeous, basically they are the house restaurant at the hotel. The dining room is lime green with white trim and newly refinished hardwood floors. Tennis memorabilia adorns the walls. We had a great lunch today — three terrific dishes for around ten bucks each. We started off with a nice complimentary basket of warm pita triangles served with a ramekin of creamy hummus. Off the charts great! Check out the photos for our lunch choices. We had a prawn wrap(served warm with pasta salad), a chicken salad(pulled rotisserie salad in a sour cream dressing over greens), and a Cobb Salad(diced turkey with bacon, diced egg and the usual trimmings). Presentation was great, the portions were generous, and everything tasted great. At ten bucks apiece, it was a very good value and we had the chance to sit in a beautiful room full of atmosphere galore. Outdoor seating on the patio looked wonderful, but we couldn’t manage that because they were crowded and didn’t have a table for 3. All in all, we really enjoyed our lunch today.
