Maybe we should have tried the pizza. I had the Philly and my husband had the Italian nachos. My Philly tasted like one you would get at the gas station. The chips for the Italian nachos were tasty but they were so drenched in toppings after 5 minutes the majority of them were inedible. Our waitress was nice enough but it felt like she would run away as soon as she dropped the food off so you didn’t have a chance to ask for anything. Two stars because the garlic bread was tasty.

So after a lil hesitation about returning to this place; I agreed to give it one last try. The same co-worker and I again pre ordered a chicken alfredo pizza to be ready at a specific time. The same young lady happen to be working this day and was going to make sure the previous incident was not going to be repeated. The food was surprisingly better than i had heard although im still a bit skeptical if this was a little pity on us. May have to try this place again…

Who would expect to find good broasted chicken at a pizzeria. Service was great. And another surprise: a decent wine list. Location is near a few hotels, too, which can be helpful since Cliff is under construction: new ramps for I-90.

I work at a Nearby business and I have eaten here exactly 4 times and have yet to be impressed. The pizza is ok, normally it is on the greasy side(which I actually don’t mind) but almost any other pizza place in town is better. it is just plain ordinary. Appetizers and sandwiches taste just fine, but yet again are nothing special. Food service tends to be on the slow side, but not terrible. They do have an excellent selection of bottled/canned beer, the environment is very nice and I have not had any problems with the wait staff(outside of a iced tea to the lap). Pricing. Waaay over priced. Last time I was there I ordered what I assumed were some type Jalapeño popper style peppers. the description sounds excellent describing them as being covered in cheese and stuffed with the homemade meatballs. When the app arrived I found 6 cherry tomato sized peppers(at the largest) each containing a piece of meatball about the size of a pimento, a little sauce of some type and covered with a small amount of shredded cheese. It tasted good, with the right amount of spice. However I paid $ 10 for this. I seriously doubt I will go back at this point.

Now is my chance to contribute more stars to the Big Cheese rating. We were passing through from the suburbs of Chicago to Rapid City(in one night) and needed a place to stuff our faces before we ventured on to the penultimate leg of the trip. Pizza sounded excellent. We strolled in and it seemed very quiet; we thought they were closing but they showed us to a table and were happy to have us. We ordered drinks and pizzas and used the cook time to relax and not think about driving or the darkness(the sun had set near Madison, WI). We ordered 2 pizzas, one sausage and one chicken with a white sauce and both were excellent. Our server suggested that we come back on the Sunday for their buffet and we honestly considered it but it didn’t fit into our schedule. Perhaps being from out of town is preventing me from seeing why the Big Cheese has a low rating. I’m just hoping it’s due to the small number of reviews. The restaurant was clean, the beer was cold, the server was nice and the pizza was good. I wasn’t quite blown away so I can’t give the full 5 stars, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially considering we randomly pulled into their parking lot and stopped in on a whim. I have to say that I’m glad the Big Cheese was apart of an unforgettable journey out west.

The foods not to bad. Just make sure you’re in thier delivery zone before becoming a loyal customer. After five delivers they all the sudden tell me im out of there delivery zone. Then why did the deliver the first 5 times? Pissed me off enough that I won’t get food from there any more. I same for several of my friends.

Got some pasta delivered from Big Cheese and while the lasagna and spaghetti where ok the creole and Alfredo where both not so much so. The pasta and sauce where ok but the chicken tasted old and was tough and dry. Have ordered from here many times and the last couple times the results where the same. I would order the pizza but the pasta is no longer on the menu for us.

As you walk in the door at lunch time(never been there at night) you walk by a pizza buffet counter that you can not serve yourself at. Wander a little further down and you are at the cash register. After standing there waiting to be helped I attempted to order a slice of the pizza I just walked by. No no no. You can’t order anything. You have to go sit down and wait for someone to finally come find you. Why walk us through the aisle of confusion? The food here is just ok. Nothing to brag about.(Otherwise I would be. Get it?) Atmosphere is much more of an evening sports bar. Maybe I should come back after dark?

A little spendy but the smoked gouda mac and cheese is to die for. Get it with the sausage!
