This review is only for the Hot Morning Show hosted by Andy and Mel.
I’m a fan of morning shows. I currently listen to the Alice Morning Show (San Francisco), the Fernando and Greg Show (San Francisco), the Kevin and Bean Show (Los Angeles), the Hot Show (Houston), and the Kane Show (Washington, D.C.) I work a dead-​end job that allows me to listen on my headphones all day long. And since I don’t listen to music, podcasts that offer a mix of gossip and news are what fills up my boredom. And while I inevitably listen to the same items all day, I’m more interested in the personalities and personal lives of the hosts. I prefer my shows to have a female component (or a feminine gay male perspective). And it goes without saying that I generally enjoy the show when I can agree with the views of the hosts.
I agree with Andy’s perspectives on many things. Mel — not so much. I generally try to listen to a month’s worth of podcasts to see if the personalities and how they deliver the show mesh with the 5 other stations I listen to.
I just couldn’t do it with this show. The turning point was when they were talking about whether a woman who gets proposed to during Christmas should also be entitled to getting a Christmas present, or if the proposal is the gift. Mel thought the woman should still get a present. Up until this point, I was on the fence on Mel’s views. And I just find her entitled, girly-​girl opinions too much for me.
I think this show has great potential. I also am aware that this show is in Sioux Falls. I probably should stick to larger cities.
