Are you a fan of obscure vintage books? Then this place is great!
I, for instance, collect vintage cookbooks, and I was super impressed by how organized and extensive (and well organized) the cookbook sections was.
And the prices can’t be beat. I purchased a 1960’s etiquette guide and a 1960’s household maintenance guide. The grand total? $ 6. I would have easily paid $ 25 for the same two books at an antique show.

This is a very cute bookstore, chock full of books in a wide variety. We stopped by with our 2 kids (ages 7 and 4) and found each some nice, inexpensive used books that they enjoy. I enjoyed skimming through some of the other sections, including the law, politics, and history sections. The owner was friendly and didn’t mind our kids running around. If you are in Sisters, be sure to stop by this place and pick out a couple books to enjoy.

Not all books stores are made the same. Lonesome Water Books is number two on my list of all time favorites.
It’s not big, it’s not grand. It doesn’t take three days to go through, but the quality of used books here is great.
The place is just so neat, so clean so well organized that you can’t go wrong. The quality of the used books is also top notch. They appear to buy only the best so they can offer the best. I also must say that the prices are not what you would expect from that type of quality. They are very comparable to the other used bookstores that I have reviewed and I have never put a book back on the shelf because I thought it was too high priced. The staff here is 10 stars and very helpful. The most helpful I have met at any bookstore ever.
Lonesome carries a great amount of antique and collectible books also, for the really deep treasure hunter.
I enjoy stopping here every time I travel through Sisters Oregon. Check it out if you’re in the area. I have few words to say about Lonesome Water Books. The store really speaks for it’s self.

Awesome store!

Bookstores exert an almost magnetic pull on me and there are times when I lose all sense of time and can be lost for hours browsing the shelves. My favorites are the small town bookstores with a staff that isn’t shy about making suggestions.
This store is located on the main street in Sisters and has a solid collection of used and rare books and maps. They scored major points because not only was the staff helpful, they had a used paperback I’ve been trying to purchase for FIVE years. Thank goodness that search is finally over.
