If you wonder how good a hot dog can be, try ‘Sup Dog. They have Zellner’s brand(from Portland) and their dogs and sausages are really good. I have tried each of them and they were all consistently tasty. The ‘Sup Dog people have taken it to the next level with fun combos/specials like the Outlaw Dog or Mac & Cheese dog. Darrick and his family are nice and really seem to be trying to do more and better for their customers — they even got in a tofu dog for vegetarians/vegans. They’ll do without a bun for gluten-free needs. A special shout-out to Bubba, who runs the food cart when Darrick’s not there: he is so present, calm and kind. No matter how many customers are there, he seems to stay centered and be able to attend to each person and their needs in his quiet and friendly way. The setting is family-friendly outside the Eurosports bike shop/food cart lot(they have craft been on tap) with lots of seating and shade or sun. Why four stars instead of five? The fresh-squeezed lemonade is good, but too sweet for me.

Located outside of Eurosport with plenty of seating. I had the OUTLAWDOG and my girl had the SMOKEDGERMANDOG. The OUTLAW is a grilled bratwurst and comes topped with a homemade slaw drizzled with BBQ sauce. The slaw is crisp, light, and had a touch of pepper for some mild spice. I enjoyed this dog with some pickled jalapeño slices. The SMOKEDGERMAN dog was delicious as well. The flavor was well balanced and hearty and I recommend topping this dog off with some kraut, deli mustard, ketchup, onions, and jalapeños. ‘Sup Dog? also offers fresh squeezed lemonade made daily. The lemonade was very tasty and refreshing although a tad sweet for my tastes. Next round I’m going to try the dogs with some of the draft brews offered by Eurosport. The SMOKEDGERMANDOG would pair very well with a frosty IPA. The establishment was clean, and the nice young boy who helped us seemed to care a great deal for each dog he produced. He was quite large, and I could tell that he wasn’t yet accustomed to his giant frame. His awkwardness admittedly put me on guard at first, but his bright eyes and easy smile quickly allayed any misgivings I may have had. Despite his poor posture and lumbering way of moving about, his crafting of the dogs was deliberate, and precise. Whilst assembling my order, I couldn’t help but be reminded of a master sushi chef, taking such care into each and every bite that I would take. Once I felt safe enough, I tried striking up a conversation with the lad. As it turns out, Bubba, is a local Sisters resident and was very friendly. Terribly awkward, but friendly, and earnest. All in all, it was delicious, impressive even, and I will definitely return. This is not your run of the mill hot dog cart.
