It was the first time we have been since the remodel and new owners and we found the ambiance very nice. It was clean and tastefully decorated. It was Mexican night and the food was good, the service very good. The server was professional as well as being fun. We will go back and try more of the menu

The thing that struck me most about Duck was the amazing back deck area that overlooks a beatiful marshy wetlands area. This makes for some great scenery, which you can’t eat but might make eating more fun. The bar area and restaurant were nicer than I would’ve expected for a place so far off the beaten path as well. The food is traditional America bar food with lots of fried options, no surprises here. They also serve several micro brews from the local brewery which makes getting drunk feel more worldly. Fun place, I’ll be back!

We went here for my birthday lunch on 11/28/2015. When I got my food and started eating. I got about a quarter of my Avocado burger eaten when I had problems chewing. I spit it out into my napkin and there was a long dark hair in the food. When the waitress came back into our area, I privately and quietly walked over and showed her the napkin. All she said was” thanks for not making her day or even mine”. Never apologized. Did want to know if I wanted something else which I replied NO as her back was half way turned from me. When we got our bill. She had not charged me for my meal. Manager /waitress customer service on this matter was horrible and rude. Will not eat there again.

My girlfriend and I had a great simple lunch on the deck last weekend. Our two Standard Poodles were warmly welcomed. It was a gorgeous sunshiny day and the food was perfect. Not fancy, but did not expect that. Service was super great. Thank you Patty!

I went with a group of friends to the Duck Inn expecting much more than was delivered. I ordered chicken fried steak which was very tough and much thicker than I’ve had before. My wife and several others ordered fettuccine alfredo. All complained of a pronounced lack of flavor. One friend ordered a margarita, which came with the salt in the drink, not on the rim. It was replaced by our friendly waitress. Some had burgers, which were apparently okay.

Wow. Cutest place on river. Nicely done remodel. Although I never saw the previous duck inn. I would say this place rivals anything in the big city. Short stack with eggs and bacon. So glad I stopped by here on the way to long beach. Yummy!

How is a restaurant this good out in the middle of nowhere? Discovered this place on Unilocal and decided it would be a good place to take my parents when they’re in town. The food here is phenomenal. My first time there I had the fettuccine alfredo not expecting much but had my mind blown by the creamy excellent taste. I’ve also had nachos, burgers and the prime rib here. Each time the food exceeds my expectations and I find myself driving away not understanding how this place can be so good. The pricing is also extremely reasonable. Really one of the best if not the best places to have a nice dinner anywhere within 25 miles of the Duck Inn. I cannot recommend this place more highly.

The yummiest hamburger ever! I highly recommend having the Logger burger with curly fries. The burger was huge. Fresh ground beef, ham, bacon, Swiss & cheddar cheese, egg, lettuce, tomatoes, BBQ sauce. You can chose curly, steak or beer battered fries. My husband had the steak fries and really liked them. Great service, reasonable price considering the quantity/quality of food, laid back atmosphere, clean restaurant with décor that goes with the local wildlife. Great place to stop and eat on the way to the coast.

This roadside diner and lounge has been recently remodeled — EXTENSIVELY remodeled — amounting to a major upgrade. It’s clean, and now resembles a middle class restaurant from the city, not a country diner at all. The artwork and décor is tasteful, middlebrow. .. which is far more than you’d expect for the area. I haven’t tried the bar, yet, but it is well stocked, and the lounge features a pool table. The deck overlooking the slough and the Columbia River is perfect for those rare sunny days(«Skamokawa» means«smoke on the water,» or some such, and refers to frequent fogs). The food is not gourmet, it is standard American cuisine, as good as or better than most other diners nearby. There’s a salad bar. The wait staff is great: cheerful, competent. I’ve eaten several meals there, and will eat more.

OK, the new and improved Duck was worth a stop. It’s a fresh remodel, not even resembling the old one that was a dive. They have a nice outdoor deck over the river which is great on a warm day. The service was good, the drinks good. The food mediocre and pricey for what we like to spend, but it was ok… just ok is what I give this place. We’ll stop again for a drink probably as it’s on the way to the Washington beaches. It’s better than the old place for sure.

Duck Inn is just about it for food and/or beverages in Skamokawa. Bottom line, it is a dive! Not very clean. No healthy food on the menu. This is a local’s place with all of the characters that come with a local watering hole. The drinks were strong, at least, and the prices were affordable. Big TV in the bar. But forget health codes; watched the bartender play with her hair and eat, picking-up greasy food with her fingers, and never saw her wash her hands. Colorful conversations which consisted of a lot of attitude and the use of the«f» word in abundance. Can’t really say much good about it, other than if you’re starving, on the way to the coast, and you find yourself in Skamokawa, you can get a strong drink and some deep fried food here.

Came here on October 30th and the Duck Inn was the hot place to be to celebrate Halloween with some adult libations in Skamokawa Washington! They have Karaōke, Pool and lots of seating. While it was packed on the night I was there, apparently this is not the normal scene and is usually quite a bit quieter. The drinks were reasonably priced but a little more than I expected for a bar in the middle of pretty much nowhere(a sign for a Mike’s Hard Lemonade priced one at $ 3.95). The service was friendly but the local’s reminded us that this is a local’s spot and called out«Goodbye Portland» on our way out.
