Valentines Deli and Pizzeria

Stopped in for a couple of slices so as a disclaimer this is just based on those slices.
I had a veggie slice. Spinach, mushroom, and tomatoes. Crust was nice and thin. Sauce was just meh. Had no flavor. Even after adding garlic powder on top still nothing. Daughter had a slice of cheese.
Nice location across from the lake. Wouldn’t come back for the pizza but I’d like to try their deli options.

While strolling by the specials sandwich board caught my eye. «Pastrami, Swiss, Slaw Panini. I added the banana peppers, bread and butter pickles with some honey mustard.
It was perfect and the bread thickness was spot on.
I will be back.
I recommend it as a Deli for sure.

The pizza is horrific! Am I missing something? Honestly, I have had better pizza from a cafeteria. Their sandwiches look delicious, but their pizza was not appetizing. There is much better pizza in town-​go to Gildas or Rosalie’s.

We had a couple of wraps with fruit cups. Food was fresh and so was the fruit. General deli fare otherwise. Staff was very friendly and quick. It’s right across the street from the lake and we had a great time turning lunch into an impromptu picnic on the lake (there’s a nice park with benches).

The staff is great. The variety is great. The pizza? Meh… it’s okay. It’s local, so I find myself trying to make it work. It’s not bad, but it’s not my idea of great pizza.

valentine’s is family owned and operated and has been a skaneateles staple for more than 20 years. these facts alone serve as reason enough to stop by, but if you’re hungry, go on in for a slice of pizza; a dozen wings and/​or a foot long! the service is impeccable and the prices are extremely good considering the high quality.

If you are looking for a place to get a great pizza and some wings… This is unfortunately NOT the place. Medium wings are sweet and taste like a combination of cocktail sauce and barbecue sauce. If you want something that tastes nothing like you had before go ahead and try it. I couldn’t even choke them down. Same goes for the wing pizza. They get 2 stars because they have great calzones, ok sandwiches, and their regular pizza is alright.

Had a pickle and a pizza, so I’m reserving the final star in the hopes that I get back there soon to try a sandwich or two. But the pickle was excellent.
The pizza was fantastic. Real cheese, the right amount of sauce (which is to say enough for flavor but not overwhelming), and the crust was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, like good crust should be.
Needless to say, I was very impressed with the food.
The tables seem to all be booths on either side of a large aisle. What this means is plenty of elbow room on the plus side, though if you have more than four in your group, you’ll have to get two booths. Perhaps they have other options I didn’t see, but I did appreciate that we weren’t sitting on top of other tables.
If you’re headed out that way, I recommend you check out Valentine’s. They have an extensive menu, so there is something for everyone, and the service is fast and friendly.

I have to disclaim this by saying that I worked here in high school. However, it’s been 10 years since then and I still think that the pizza here is great. Better than Frogger’s or any of the other local options. Also, try some of their dill pickles. They are a garlicly delicious experience… and by the register, buy one of those crazy Moose cookies if they still have them. They’re great.
