Middle eastern restaurant with superb service and delicious food. Restaurant is well lit, clean and very nicely decorated. The food dish portions are generous and everything I tried on the menu was delicious. Highly recommend: The Larsa’s Combo Plate includes chicken kabob, kifta kabob, beef shawirma served with basmati rice All meat and rice was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The complimentary lentil soup was delicious as well. Easily split one appetizer amongst 4 people.

Larsas has the best Mediterranean food around! This place is under rated and should be a hot spot! My favorite dish is the chicken kabob plate. The chicken is absolutely delicious. It’s so tender, juicy and melts in your mouth. Everything is amazing at Larsas. They even have a live guitar player! Check it out!

Larsa is pretty much one of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve ever been to. Love the live guitar player when you dine in its not loud at all it’s very relaxing. The food was awesome I had the Larsa combination plate. The chicken and beef kabobs was amazing. I usually love the beef kabobs, But the chicken at Larsa’s was so good and juicy had a lot of flavor in it. Only thing I did not like was the parking bBut if you’re in Skokie area you have to try it.

This is my favorite place for Mediterranean food. the hummus is great, the chicken shwarma one of the best and tried pizza and it was delicious. I love to come here and love the guitar music on Saturday nites. I went on Saturday and food as always was amazing. The service, however, was really bad. Waitress could not refill the water, take the order, you name it. It was disappointing!

This was a difficult rating because some of the food was amazing and some was not. The atmosphere was very nice yet the service was poor. I would return for the lentil soup, baba-ganoush and salad. Flavors were amazing and not like anything I have tasted before. The chicken shwarma plate was not great. Very bland rice, dry chicken and no sauce. There was only one waitress who also handled the front and the phones. It was not busy, 4 tables but the phone did not stop ringing. Our appetizer came out with the entrees which was aggravating. Could not get my drink refilled. Also had to wait a long time for the check, having to get up and tell the waitress. They really needed a hostess for lunch service. Since some of the food was very good I will probably give them another try. Expect to pay around $ 15pp.

Used to go here semi frequently but it’s been a while. Ordered carry out a few weeks back and everything from soup to shish kabob dinner wasn’t as good. Disappointing.

I put in an order for delivery at 630pm and at 8pm I was still waiting for it. Once here the soup was luke warm, and the falafel were cold. The flavors were otherwise good, but there was too much parsley and not enough bulgar in the tabouli salad. This is my first experience with the place and it has considerably cautioned me from ordering from them again, which is unfortunate because the flavors were otherwise good.

Service is super friendly but the food portions are pretty small compared to other Mediterranean restaurants. Also not that flavorful. Their flat breads are pretty good though.

The best middle eastern food your gonna find in the north suburbs and one of the top in the Chicagoland area. You’ll be addicted to the lentil soup!!!

I feel like this place is often compared to Pita Inn(as Pita Inn is about a mile or so west of this place). I’ve definitely had both(many times) and they are very different. Larsa’s is more a «restaurant» while Pita Inn seems more to me as fast food. Larsa’s is a little more expensive than Pita Inn but the food is better in my opinion in that it’s more restaurant quality.(I will note that PI does have an amazing lunch special but this review is not for PI). Larsa’s rice is actual basmati rice(instead of the yellow rice at PI), and the lamb kebab is AMAZING; they are actual chunks of lamb! The PI version of the Lamb is ground lamb and it’s also good but I prefer the Larsa’s version over PI. Larsa’s also has a sit down service and delicious house-made hummus that my Middle Eastern friends highly recommend. Larsa’s also has high quality service and really friendly waitresses and staff. One time I ordered take out and the Chef accidentally sent me the wrong plate. The restaurant was super helpful and diligent about correcting their mistake and making sure I received the one I ordered. I will definitely return for the delicious food and wonderful service. Minus one star– the parking is a little weird and you have to do a weird turn on Dempster street into the lot.

Been a regular patron there. The food is good not cheap but good. Came in today. Empty restaurant. Turshi soup and kifta kabob excellent. Gets the bill more than double what i expected. Calls the manager. I was charged for sauce and Turshi. Never before. The manager tells me it was a new policy. he tells me i can take care of this and gives me the same bill back. Never again. Poor service. Do not like to be taken advantage of. When you go to pita inn the sauce tahini yugurt is free. Very bad customer service. Too bad the food is good

What a wonderful place. We loved our lentil soup, shrimp kebob and lamb kebob. Service was attentive and appropriate. Great restaurant for Mediterranean food. Reminds me of sultan’s palace downtown, a bit higher end. Must return.

The more I try other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern places, the more solid Larsa’s place at the top of the pyramid becomes. It’s not even close anymore. I’ve been a customer for approx. 5 yrs. They have the«absolute best»(emphasis added): 1) lentil soup, 2) basmati rice, 3) pita bread and 4) garlic sauce. The aforementioned items might seem secondary or even tertiary to an epic dining experience, but such a conclusion would be sorely misplaced. Lamb and chicken kabobs are fantastic, but they are almost hurt by the flawless execution of what surrounds them. The Greek and Jerusalem salads suffer the same fate of high quality overshadowed by neighboring perfection. Just get a kabob plate of your choosing,(comes w/lentil soup and plenty of rice(I like the pickled vegetables as well)), and order 2-garlic, 2-tahini, 2-red/harissa w/2-extra pita. Pay the $ 4 – 5 for the sauces, best money you’ve spent in a long time.

Located just off of Dempster Ave and tucked in a small shopping strip is this funky little joint. It has a smaller room with some seating near their dedicated bar and a larger dining room with ample seating. The décor is lovely and there is even a small fountain inside. The menu has all the classic Mediterranean favorites, and we ordered the roasted red pepper hummus(the small is clearly meant for 4) and an order of the Falafel. Both were quite good, but I must admit to burying the lead: they have a delicious pizza. Incongruous? Perhaps. But it is a seriously good pie. We got the thin crust Larsa’s Special, and managed to put a hurting on an XL pizza. The crust is handmade(you can see the dough being worked in a special area off to the left when you walk in) and it’s great. My wife is from the East Coast, so she prefers a bit of a different pizza than Chicago usually offers, but she raved about the crust and ate all the corner pieces! How dast she! It also appears to be one of the only places to in the region to find authentic Turkish coffee, which my wife also loved. The food is great, the atmosphere is lovely, the people were wonderful and they have a bar with some fairly cheaply priced drinks. How could you ask for more?

Okay so the first time there was a weak three stars at best. My wife says, «give it another try.» I say, «okay.» We try take-out this time and maybe, just maybe it will be better. I called and they answered and immediately hung up on me. Not to be deterred I try again. Four rings and a gruff«hello, hold.» Without so much as elevator music playing I sit on hold for a long time and eventually give up. Two solid strikes against them now. Maybe i will try for three… maybe.

What a fabulous Middle-Eastern restaurant this is! So far I’ve had the best baba ganoush I’ve ever tasted; the«small» size($ 5.00) came on a salad-sized plate. In the center was a swirl of olive oil topped with pomegranate seeds, a really lovely touch. Served with hot pita bread and a bowl of delightful pickled vegetables, such as yellow squash, carrots, cabbage, jalapeños and more. I could stop now, but I also ordered lamb shish-kebab — I adore lamb! My shish-kebab is being served with a green-bean stew, basmati rice, and more hot pita bread. I see another dinner coming home with me tonight! The lamb is absolutely delicious! Tender, seasoned nicely, and sprinkled with fresh rosemary. I mean, who could ask for more? Service is very competent and personable. I’m going to try to come back here soon.

There is plenty of competition in this area with the huge middle eastern community. Larsa’s is a bit difficult to view from the street since it’s hidden in a small plaza strip. however, I’m glad I finally made the trip to this joint. I strayed from Basha(mediocre food) & Pita Inn(food poisoned twice. Learned my lesson). My girlfriends and I started with a glass of red wine(Merlot & Cabernet), which were good. We ordered a veggie plate to start, which was fantastic — hummus, rice, grape leaves, falafel, & fresh pita. My favorite was the lentil soup. Not sure what their secret ingredient is, but the little specks of dried dill & yellow tint is enough to set it apart from others. My chicken Schwarma plate was enough to feed a party of four, and I substituted the salad instead of rice. The service was fantastic, our water glasses were always filled, the meat was fresh, and we enjoyed our time here at Larsas! I’ll be back !!
