Manor At Lincolnwood Place

This place is a disgrace. Not only do they not even meet the most basic of requirements, but they can’t even make sure that someone is at the Nurse’s desk to answer a patient’s call. Instead they blame the patient, pathetic.

My Mother had a wonderful experience at the Manor at Lincolnwood Place after she had hip replacement surgery. What was surely a trying time, turned out to be a great experience. We had wonderful staff and excellent physical therapists to help my mom get back to her previous lifestyle.
I learned about the Manor from a friend of mine’s who’s mother lives in the Independent Living portion of the community.
I would recommend the Manor to anyone.

Considering how much nursing homes charge I’m surprised about the care given. Even little things such as a hanger to hang ones coat. A cup to use when brushing your teeth. A washcloth without begging for one.
These are things one shouldn’t have to even ask for. We did get the washcloth every so often. I appreciate the staff gets busy but, some things should be in place. If my Mom had an appointment I told them when she had to be ready. I would get there and she said she would dragged her wheelchair to the bathroom to get ready because no one showed up. I would make sure she ate something prior since her appointments were early in the day and the treatments lasted four hours. As I left, no one bothered to see if she had enough oxygen in the tanks for the ride. And, even with three staff people at the front desk, not one bothered to help me with the doors without me asking. When her roommates passed, she asked them to remove her while they cleaned up the room to avoid the harsh chemicals they used or while they dusted. They just said okay but, no one removed her from the room. Fortunately she was pretty clear in her mind and she would constantly tell me that she has to remind the kitchen «soft diet» or that she was legally blind and couldn’t see. But, they would continue with the wrong diet and give her a menu waiting for her response. She would also question her medication and sometimes due to her, she caught when something wasn’t right. All I can say, I’ve never saw anything so poorly run. This isn’t the only nursing home that she used. Alden North in Evanston was what you want in a nursing home. Staff and conditions treat people with the care and dignity they deserve.
