I haven’t met with a therapist yet. And their intake process is very thorough and lengthy but I have so far had a great experience. The person who did my intake was very warm and friendly(Emily). Will post a review once I see a therapist.

I would like to take the time to step out and shine light on this institution because though many people may find it embarrassing or shameful to admit; sometimes we all need a little help. And if WE don’t personally, we may need to FIND help for those we love, or at least, care about enough to worry. Depression, couples therapy, schizophrenia, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, counciling on various issues, help with SI, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, all can be addressed at this community wellness center. With a caring staff and numerous group therapy options all are welcome to participate in treatment/therapy with or without insurance. Their policies on payment differ based on certain criteria and can be taken up with the staff payment director. If you’re not insured they can regulate your payment rate per visit based on your income for example. It can be much less expensive than pricey private practice physicians. Their staff is friendly, however not every counselor is a good match for every client. Switching takes time, but is available if needed. When first coming in seeking counseling from Turning Point they set up an evaluation for you so they can find a counselor to best suit your needs. Though a waiting list is always active the usual wait time is about a month for your first official appointment. During these sessions you can work with your councilor so as to find the right course of treatment, talk about what kind of treatment you’d like to receive, and Turning Point also offers psychiatric services as well as psychologist therapy sessions. Group therapy sessions are often very successful and totally comfortable for patients. If Turning Point can’t help you find the assistance you’re looking for, they will help you find help elsewhere at another community assistance center. They also have a crisis hot line available. For those who are on the brink of suicide especially this is a VERY important immediate resource so as to help talk you or the person you know down from their compulsions and thoughts and if help is needed to get it to that person as immediately as possible. I’m aware this is a generic sounding review with little personal information attached, but as promised to whom I know attends the care center and from what I know of their treatment I would like to keep all of that information anonymous as is lovely with all clinical and private treatment so as to prove to be a safe place for people to find help. I really believe in the programs and services that Turning Point offers and I recommend caring family and friends to point those they know who are hurting emotionally AND for cash to at the very least inquire about services that can benefit those people directly. Remember, that services are offered for adults, teens, AND children. Good luck.
