I have been purchasing my sneakers from New Balance since 1983. I am proud to support New Balance. I wrote a letter to the owner once, and he sent me a nice thank you along with a pair of socks. He also stated that he had no intention of moving the factory overseas.
I wish I could give them 10 stars.

High quality, affordable shoes in Maine? Yes please. I came in to grab some shoes and was very impressed by the selection and price of the shoes. I walked out with 2 pairs and some socks for less than $ 120. It made my day. They also have great prices on workout gear and jackets, though they often do not have the popular sizes, AKA the size shirt I need.
I am also a vegan and New Balance has a very good selection of non-​leather shoes. They even put out a list of their shoes that are all synthetic. Look here:
When I need shoes and I find myself in Maine, this will be where I go. I like that you can see the factories and you know that this company is supporting the Maine economy and making a high quality US product. There is nothing more local than made across the parking lot.
