In what is very nearly a food desert, DBTP is a wonderful hidden gem. This is why THEBAKEDGOODS Legit homemade. Unlike the«homemade» Amish baked treats available locally, many of which list«yellow cake mix» or similar as an ingredient, these appear to be from scratch. Also not loaded with sugar and crap. *chocolate bacon cookies* are amazing — I don’t typically get psyched for a chocolate cookie, but needed to try this new-to-me riff on the chocolate/bacon combo. The chocolate cookie portion was rich and delicious in that quality chocolate sort of way(not dry and pasty as I usually find chocolate cookies to be). I mighta sprung for 30% more bacon(mostly because I love the salt), but there were solid slices in there. Only at this moment did it occur to me that I should have heated that sucker up for maximum effect. Next time… *regular chocolate chip cookies* came highly recommended by 2 staffers– I am usually a CCC comparative taste testing conoisseur, but haven’t gotten around to trying these yet. *banana nut oat muffins* I’ve gotten these 2x. The upside– distinctly not sweet. My first one was pretty underwhelming, but this morning they were fresh out of the oven AND this batch had raisins in it. The raisins kicked it up a solid notch. after having a bite and assessing the flavor profile, I was amazingly patient and walked all the way back to my room with the rest of the muffin in order to slather it with pear butter. This was an excellent call. OTHERFOODS — homemade granola??? — smoothies available dairy free with coconut milk — Numi teas /espresso bar — homemade chicken salad that looks super good — breakfast sandwiches(I saw someone get a blueberry muffin with egg and bacon and that seemed like a very wise combo) — soft serve ice cream OTHERAWESOMENESS — a small resale clothing rack — locally made soaps/salves — amazing varietal of tchotchkes — great resource for local maps /books of trails — climbing gear — camping gear — basic sundries — solid stop for basic groceries — way better equipped than any of the local gas stations, which are really the only options besides going to the grocery in Stanton — free wifi — super friendly staff

If you are looking for a cozy, affordable and super delicious place to come get breakfast, buy groceries or gear while visiting the Gorge — this is the place to come. It’s just off the«Slade» exit on Natural Bridge Road(on the way to Miguel’s). We stopped in after breaking down camp this morning and were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious eating area filled with books, quiet jazz and live edge wood décor. The coffee for organic, the meats in the deli(and freezer if you want to buy to go) were all local, natural, hormone free. I walked around the store to look at the goods — groceries, camping supplies, clothing and souvenirs. They were all VERY reasonably priced — which was surprising for a small, touristy shop on the main stretch. As a bonus — they have free wifi(which is great, because if you have AT&T, you’ll lose service in some areas of the store. Lastly — the folks working here were so friendly. They came around to check on us a few times. We’ll definitely be back!
