Antebellum House

We had our wedding reception here almost 2 years ago and Chad was excellent. He knows what he’s doing and will offer tons of advice. Even the smallest details won’t go unnoticed by him.
Pretty much everything surrounding our wedding was a cluster. Pelican dry cleaners broke and dirtied my wedding dress 2 days before the wedding, my husband forgot his socks and Louisiana limo decided to cancel 15 minutes after they should have already picked me up. It was kind of a stressful day. Oh and my son who was 1 at the time was teething and wanted no part of this wedding.
Once we got to the antebellum house everything was perfect. The place was beautifully decorated and the way that chad announced the wedding party was great. He definitely stays on top of the event because he wants to make sure that your day/​event is a success. We had an interesting mix of people with Spanish, English and Americans. We picked out some songs we wanted played but he did a fantastic job with the rest. Everyone had a great time and was really impressed with the venue, food and Chad. People thought that we paid at least twice the price. I have zero hesitation in recomending this venue.

Excellent! Recently had a family reunion there and everything was PERFECT! Food was superb! We had prime rib and it melted in our mouths. The music was perfect, everything in fact went off better than planned. Thank you Chad for a great time!

The venue was nice; however, I agree with the previous reviews. This guy was beyond inappropriate. He thought he was an announcer with the microphone. This is just not appropriate for someone’s wedding. I heard many people comment on this throughout the night. It was weird and annoying. It’s too bad because the venue was nice.

Stay away from this place. Chad just wants to hear his voice on the microphone. He does not listen to a word you say. I’m the groom and I’m writing this on my wedding night. I asked him multiple times to slow it down but would not listen not me. He had an agenda and was sticking with it at all cost. I would not recommend this place and would stay far away. His staff is great but Chad needs to learn that it is not about him but the it is about the party and the bride and groom. Just know that I will not recommend this place and never go back.

The Antebellum House was surprisingly beautiful, considering it’s only a couple of blocks from the mall. It evokes images of the old south, with the large porch and the plantation feel. The roomy interior is furnished beautifully, with old-​style luxury everywhere. The staff is attentive and helpful without being obtrusive. The food was wonderful, some of the best I’ve ever had at a special event.
As a photographer, I see a lot of venues for special events. I have to say this is one of the best in Slidell, or even the entire Northshore area. I highly recommend the Antebellum House for a wedding or other special event. This is southern charm at its finest.
