Food taste great. Prices are fair. Lots of seating. Full bar. Staff is very sweet and accommodating. Excellent service. I would definitely recommend!

Bonnie C’s has the most amazing food all around. The crawfish pies were to die for! The sauce on them is purely amazing. The fried chicken was SO tender, didn’t even need a knife to cut it! Great service too! We’ll definitely be back!

Tonight was my first time at Bonnie C’s. I was a little disappointed to walk in and and not be greeted or told to «seat yourself». I felt a little weird stopping a waitress to ask if i should wait to be seated. Nonetheless, after sitting down it took 12 minutes for some one to come to my table and ask if I’d been helped yet(a little long in my opinion). The waitress who did serve us was super friendly and attentive. The food was very good. I had a burger and fries. Best fries I’ve had in a while. I loved the local vibe and café style. You really feel like you’re in a small town, old school diner, which really represents what Bonnie C’s is to Slidell. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend this place to others. Once you become a regular, I’m sure Bonnie C’s will feel like an extension of your own home.

I kept going here with one friend who is addicted to their fried chicken(FYI I still never tried the chicken-I cannot eat it often) I thought their food was fine. But who really goes out for ‘fine’? I would rather cook ‘fine’ at home and eat insanely great food at a restaurant.

The building is old but the food is great. It sort of reminds me of having a menu at my grandmas house. Home cooked favorites on the menu. I have only had 4 different items so far and all were really good. This place is on my short list of goto restaurants.

I love it! Catfish platter was amazing! Everything tasted fresh! Catfish was meaty and flaky!

Like most locally owned restaurants in the greater New Orleans area, Bonnie C’s appears dingy and withering. I couldn’t tell if it wanted to be a café, a diner, or family style restaurant. Menu is authentic but pricey.

I’ve heard they have recently changed ownership, but kept the name, so my review will be based up my experience with them the last few times I went; before the change. This place always had top notch service. I guess because Bonnie is actually related to Al Copeland or something, and well… that family is synonymous with«good service» in New Orleans. They have good specials on drinks and they usually have a good solid craft beer or two on tap. The food here is quite good as well. I’ve had several of their entrees and only once was I disappointed when I got a seafood pasta that tasted like old rotten fish. It was actually one of the ONLY times I have EVER complained at any restaurant, but I will be quick to point out that they very promptly offered not to charge us for the meal AND gave us a gift card to come back; which is what I call excellent customer service. That had to be a fluke because every other experience with this restaurant was top notch. It’s definitely worth a try if you’ve never gone. They have good southern food along with some classic New Orleans staples.

***I have to be upfront and say that I am delayed in reviewing this restaurant as we were there about a year ago. I’m not sure if it has since changed hands as the reviews I’m reading now do not jive with our experience.*** We were on a family road trip and it happened to be my husbands birthday. He requested Fried Chicken as his birthday meal. So I searched online for a restaurant along the way that had raving reviews of their fried chicken. Bonnie C’s topped the list and it was on our route. We stopped at this quaint little family restaurant. I think there were maybe three other tables of people. Our waitress was a sweetheart and the owner came over to our table and gave us a little low down on the history of Bonnie C’s and the menu. My husband got his Fried Chicken and it was out of this world! I had a cheeseburger with shrimp and it was different but very good. Both my kids loved their meals of mac and cheese and a burger. Hands down, the piece of cake my husband got for his Birthday was beyond delicious. According to the owner, his wife, Bonnie C, is the only one who knows the top secret recipe for this cake. Sadly I forget the name of it, but just ask, they’ll know what you’re talking about. It was Chocolate on chocolate with chocolate(I may be exaggerating, but it was delicious and I really don’t care for Chocolate!). I would have given it 5 stars but I’m afraid that my experience may have occurred prior to new ownership, to which I cannot review.

Came in for lunch and had the meatloaf special. Great home-cooked taste, generous portions, and great, attentive service. Have eaten here a few times and and not had a less-than-good experience yet.

My family ate here on the way home from a long trip. We were tired and ready to be home. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very reasonably priced and it was very good. My daughter had a great bowl of gumbo. My wife and I both had spaghetti. Her’s had meatballs. Mine had Italian Sausage. They were both good with authentic meat. My son enjoyed his open faced roast beef. It was comfort food that helped us feel like we were already home.

Went in on a friday night, there wasn’t really a wait for a table, but the restaurant was full. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks, and another 45 minutes to get our food. It felt like the staff was more worried about catching up with all the regulars, than checking on our food. The food was not good, we will not be back.

The only reason this gets 2 stars is that i’ve been there once before and had a far better experience. I went last week and was hungry. I decided to have the fresh turkey dinner — my friend had it last time and liked it. Completely different dinner than I had. First, the environment didn’t feel even as good as a hospital cafeteria… very bright and weird lighting. Screaming children galore. All in all unpleasant setting. The dinner came and it looked like it was served from a hospital cafeteria. Portions were served from scoops as if they were told to not give too much of anything — USETHESCOOPS! The«fresh» turkey was no better than sliced turkey that you would get at a deli and tasted not as good. They had the cranberry sauce in a little plastic condiment cup with plastic lid on it — why? That made it seem even more institutional. The waitress suggested that she hoped I had a big appetite because it was alot of food. I was hungry, I’m not a big guy or a huge eater, but it was not filling in the least. I was looking forward to the visit, but it was so much different than the first experience and I don’t see any reason to chance it and spend my money there again.

This restaurant has the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, bar none! A friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere make all the difference and the café offers all of what you could ever ask for. Two thumbs up!

I LOVE Bonnie C’s! Anytime my son and I want a ‘homemade’ meal we go straight to Bonnie C’s. He usually orders the gumbo — he loves it, but I’m not too crazy about it. I love the turkey dinner. It’s like having thanksgiving dinner and all the fixins in 15 minutes or less and zero cleanup. We both love the red beans and rice and fried pork chop! Yum! We both WSH they’d bring back the original orange blossoms! When someone recommend BC’s to us that was the first thing they bragged about, of course we loved them too and for some reason they discontinued them.

Stopped in on a Monday thanks to Unilocal because I was looking for some Red Beans and rice. I must say for $ 8.99 their lunch special is great! Big bowl of beans with sausage, ham, penne pork chop and corn bread! I will be back on a Monday in the future!!!

Nice small place to grab some food while in Denton. I ordered the catfish jambalaya. The other party ordered a catfish and fries. The service was quick and courteous. My dish was good not great. The fried catfish was better than the jambalaya. The place was clean as were the restrooms. The staff was great. The catfish seems to be the winner here along with the coleslaw. The fries were also pretty darn good. I will visit again and try another dish.

I’ve ordered delivery and had take out. The food and service here is really good. Staff are friendly and personable. I’ve had their award winning red beans and meat and it’s really good. It comes with a half a link of what taste like barbqued sausage. You can order a pork chop on the side for $ 3 which is a bargain. It’s almost enough for two meals with the pork chop and the two sides that come with the red beans and meat dinner. I’ve also had Bonnie’s Southern Fried chicken which has fantastic flavor. There are not many restaurants in Slidell that deliver really good food, I’d say Bonnie C’s has one of, if not the best restaurant delivery. The restaurant itself is very modest. Not much going on for décor or atmosphere and the fluorescent lighting doesn’t help but the staff are friendly and the price is nice for the quality of food that I’ve received. There is a very long fully stocked bar inside. I’ll be back and I’ll order delivery again.

Great food, in a very casual setting, with good service and low prices! The poor boys are almost as good as the top NOLA spots and the daily specials(wraps earlier this week), were outstanding. Nothing fancy about Bonnie C’s, but if you’re looking for a good lunch in historic downtown Slidell, give it a try!
