I travel a lot for business and generally don’t review places I stay for only one night because any hotel can have one unusually bad or good day. But I have to make an exception for this Hampton Inn. Like too many Hampton Inns, it is a traffic nightmare to find and actually get to. The lobby area was nice enough and the desk clerk was very pleasant. But once you get on the one and only creaky elevator, you know what’s coming. Although it was clean, my room was the darkest and dreariest place I have been in, in a long time. The carpet was dark mud colored, the walls a dark mustard and the furniture was 1970’s dark orange. The room was a decent size, but one lonely old and uncomfortable chair against a long blank wall was just depressing. No matter how I tried to adjust the air conditioning it was way too cold, as loud as a jet engine and blew directly onto the bed. Why do hotels do that? The tub was very slippery with no anti-slip strips or mat and had an oddly angled floor that required keeping one hand on the grip bar at all times to keep from falling. I won’t describe the morning breakfast. I’ll simply say I just had an English muffin because it seemed the least offensive. I have stayed at Hampton Inns all over the country. But based on this and one previous(not reviewed) experience, I think it might be time to change hotels.

Its always nice to walk into a Hampton and know what you’re going to get. Until you run into one like this that charges extra for a refrigerator in the room! they’ll probably charge extra for curtains also

I stay in Hampton inns often and am generally treated well. I made an awful mistake by accidentally booking the wrong night at this hotel and when I asked if there was any way to refund the ‘no show’ I was treated with a defensive response twice as if I should never ask such a think, how stupid do you think you are? I was quite shocked. I got the same response from two people. I never tried arguing, I was simply asking a question once I realized how badly I messed up. First time I’ve ever done that! A simple, «sorry, it’s against our policy» would have been just fine! Anyway, the one star is attributed to the terrible customer service as well as the dirty room. There was a disgusting stain on the bench in my room and the carpet appeared to have been overlooked several times. I don’t expect perfection but I instantly felt dirty upon entering my room. Will not be staying here ever again!

This hotel was just what we needed after a long day in New Orleans. It was easy to get to, quiet, and clean. It was a little more expensive than I would have expected, but not bad. The staff was great, the rooms were great, and we were very pleased to stay here.

…there isn’t much to say except I love to stay at the Hampton inns! The service is always top notch and the rooms are always squeaky clean with fresh towels and sheets. I can’t get enough of the hospitality and great customer service I get here. I stayed here on my road trip and also one in Houston and they are both amazing! They have a forever customer in me!
