Homewood Suites by Hilton Slidell

The entire staff at this establishment was friendly. They made our stay very comfortable. This is our second time staying here and we order to stay here than anywhere else when we visit. Anthony Smith was at the front desk. He was very very friendly and helpful. Robert, the maintenance man was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for a pleasant experience. Not to mention the breakfast was delicious!

The best hotel staff ever! Myra was incredibly sweet and helpful, and Valerie made sure we had everything we needed. I hope I get the opportunity to visit with these wonderful folks again!

New hotel which, surprisingly, doesn’t necessarily mean a good hotel. The pros: incredibly friendly staff from the front desk, to the meal hosts, to the cleaning staff. The cons, a homicidal elevator that will not close when humans are in its way, incredibly INCREDIBLY cheap building materials that is so obvious when you look closely at the rooms which are already starting to fall apart, and (and this may come with the territory literally and figuratively) but a pretty lousy location with your typical strip mall bland American chains all around.

This clean, comfy, affordable hotel exceeded our expectations. Rooms were super clean, linens were soft and plentiful, tv with guides were great, kitchenettes and amenities were beyond what we expected. ALL staff greeted us as we saw them and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, real food, and no plastic/​styrofoam — real cups, bowls and silverware with a large eating area. The hotel and rooms smelled clean — no stinky, musty smell some hotels have. THANK YOU Homewood Suites for a fantastic stay. We will be back.

I stayed here for one night while having work done at my house. As you can see from the photos, the room is very large and decorated nicely and pretty new. That earns this hotel 1 star from me easily.
The bed was comfy and the shower was great which is the reason for the other two stars.
Another great thing about this hotel is the free breakfast which is excellent and normally I’d have given it another star for that, if not for the fact that I’d asked for a nonsmoking room and the place reeked of smoke.
I am not sure if they rotate their smoking and nonsmoking rooms here or what, but it stunk something fierce. Maybe the smoke permeated through the floors or something. I don’t know. All I do know is its nasty and I don’t want to smell it. I am sorry if I’m offending any smokers out there but that shit stinks and I think it should be taken outside of ALL buildings we share.
If Unilocal had half stars this would be a 2.5 star review for sure.

Nice new hotel with friendly staff. Several restaurants nearby.

Clean, new hotel in convenient location. The rooms are very nice with separate living room/​kitchen and then bathroom/​bedroom behind actual door. Staff is extremely friendly. Hotel is soundproofed well and off freeeway enough to make it quiet. Couple of drawbacks to an otherwise great stay: the kitchen is not «full» as advertised, microwave and two burners but no actual oven. The silverware drawer was hidden inside a low cabinet and the drawer broke off spilling all contents when I finally located it and pulled it out to get a knife. The bed is not the usual Hilton comfort, pretty low end in my opinion for such a nice hotel causing a restless night of sleep.

Awesome rooms. New hotel and serves breakfast and dinner at no charge w/​beer and wine. Best one I stayed in by far!
