This is «My Rouse’s» because I live close by, but to be honest, I’d rather go to the one down Gause. Rouse’s is a good supermarket. They’re starting to get to where the lines are rather annoying tho. I’m not too sure it’s because there are more customers, either. I think it’s because they aren’t scheduling staff. This wasn’t always so. In the past, I could stop here and shop on my way home from work and be in and out. Nowadays, it’s about 50⁄50. It’s still WAAAAY better than going to friggin Wal-Mart though. It’s a supermarket and not a department store, so you’re going to pay a little higher prices, and unfortunately on some items, much higher prices, but it still beats going to Hell-Mart. Their produce is good, their deli is good and their meats are good for the most part. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’m not a fan of this Texas Star beef they have at this Rouse’s. The other Rouse’s has both kinds. This one only has Texas Star. I find that it’s not as «good looking», and thus, not as flavorful. They usually have really good sales on items, so that’s good. Look, I HATE shopping. I despise having to go into a store filled with annoying people to get what I need, but it’s a necessity, and I’m glad this Rouse’s is a decent store.

this is the only supermarket in this area to go to… unless you want to venture out to fresh market in mandeville. this supermarket gives me hope for this area. I did not like the others in this area. I’m a spoiled new yorker though… I have never walked into a store and saw only a few flavors of ice cream. I expect at least 100 lol. :) Rouses had more flavors for my liking. not to mention was cheaper for juice I wanted… and it’s just a friendly store. I had fun walking around on facetime showing my husband the store.

This is our go-to grocery for produce and meat. It’s always fresh and clean. The employees are friendly and helpful. The prices are good and the alcohol selection is amazing! Two thumbs up!

I’ve got a soft spot for Rouse’s Supermarket. Yep, I’m about to get all mushy about a grocery store, y’all. The very first Rouse’s Supermarket was opened in Houma, Louisiana which happens to be my hometown. My sweet grandmother worked in the bakery baking and decorating all of the pretty cakes for years and years. I remember going there when I was young and her sneaking cookies to me across the counter. I moved away from Houma long ago, but I visit often and almost always made a trip to Rouse’s while there. I knew that they’d expanded into the Thibodeaux/Cut Off area but when I heard they were opening a store here in Slidell I was beyond excited. I love the fact that its a business started here in Louisiana and I’m so happy for their success. You can find many hard to find groceries there and the wine department is extensive. The best thing, though, about Rouse’s in my opinion is their commitment to local suppliers. Like it says on their website…“From Louisiana and Mississippi farms, to Gulf Coast waters, if it’s grown, caught or made in this region, you’ll find it at Rouses.” I love that!
