As a true bibliophile, libraries are some of my favorite places to get lost in. I can spend hours browsing for and reading books. Luckily, the Slidell branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library is a really pleasant library that I feel so lucky to be able to use at my leisure. It is filled with natural sunlight thanks to the many floor to ceiling windows. It’s large and there are countless tables to sit and study at a table and lots of comfy couches to sink into with the latest page turner. There are at least thirty computers here for you to use as well as copiers and fax machines. When you get a library card and use it to register for online access to the database you can then order, renew and place holds on a book or DVD that you’d like from the comfort of your own home. How cool is that? Of course, the summer reading program for children is always a fun and educational way to keep little ones entertained throughout the summer. It’s always so nice and cool in the library in the scotching summer months. I realize that some people think libraries are dinosaurs these days with all of the advances in our modern times, but I would be very sad if I didn’t have them around. Some days you just need to get lost in a book in the awesomeness that is the library. Try it sometime!
