It’s a toys r us. They have ever possible age range of toys for kids. When you first walk in they have a seasonal section with things such as pool in summer, Christmas stuff in winter etc. They have a section of baby formula and food and snacks etc. they have tons of diapers to choose from. From infant clothes to toddler clothes they even have shoes now! Strollers, car seats, bath accessories, cribs toddler beds. Then the toys. Ahh yes you time. They have it all. And neatly organized by character, age and gender. From bikes, to scooters and powered ride ons. They have preschool toys, barbies, trucks, video games and much more. Swing sets. Tons of options. They do toy drives around the holidays, which is super good. I always like a chain that gives back to the community. Private parking lot with a ton of parking. They have a bunch of sales year round so it’s always good to pay attention and buy ahead.

Toys R Us is one of my least favorite stores on earth. When I was a kid and I discovered the Toys R Us catalog, I was thrilled. Upon walking in a physical location, the feeling I felt must have been equivalent to the guy who first discovered fire. I was excited, shocked and my world would never be the same. Fast forward to adulthood and I have an entirely different opinion. I have been to this location more times than I can remember. None have been enjoyable, but some have been downright brutal. I will attempt to hit the high points and try and save you some misery. The parking lot at this location is a bit chaotic. People jockey for prime spots and seem like they are not afraid to run you down if you get in their way. You are also likely to encounter people parked by the front doors picking up large purchases. Inside the store is packed wall to wall with merchandise. Kids will be in heaven, parents will be in hell. I am sure these stores follow some sort of uniform layout, but since I am not a regular, I have found myself lost on many occasions. All I will need is some specific Barbie and I will end up in the Justin Bieber bobble-head section. It is all very stressful. Many of my trips to this location have involved the purchase of large quantities of play sand. You know, the stuff that attracts all of the neighborhood cats. It comes in sacks of 40 – 50 lbs. and is stocked by the front door. The problem with the sand is that the standard baskets were not designed to handle several hundred pounds worth and bend under that much weight. The added issue is that the sacks don’t seem very well sealed meaning most will leak sand all over. I’ve had to sort through many a bag before finding a non-leaking one. Service at this location has been very hit or miss. The cashiers have ranged from reasonably friendly to irritated and angry. I’ve noticed a correlation between madness and crowdedness so I recommend coming during the off-season. Toys R Us has a pretty good online ordering system so I think I will just stick with that. If you find yourself here I wish you the best of luck. It is highly unlikely you will ever encounter me on these aisles.

When I’ve gone here, the place has had a relatively small number of customers. I assume that’s because of the prevalence of online shopping. Having a kid, knowing that a good number of Babies R Us things are here makes this place very convenient. They carry tons of toys, TONS, like I remember Children’s Palace back in the day. You want Legos, they have them. You want Transformers, they have them. You want video games, they have those too. Their prices aren’t rock bottom or anything, so wait for the sales, unless you’re trying to find that hard to find item, which they may have. You don’t get to walk around many toy stores anymore, so it’s cool to walk around one in spite of our current world situation.
