I love the idea of this place, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Its a cute produce stand out in the middle of nowhere, with great countryside views to enjoy. For some reason, I thought this stand was selling produce grown by «Davis Ranch». However, their produce is from different growers from all over, delivered just like your local grocery store. The prices range from slightly better than the grocery store(bell peppers, onions), to about the same(potatoes, bags of nuts), to more expensive(bananas). I went during the week, so I have a feeling a Saturday visit would yield fresher produce and an open bbq food stand. Maybe we’ll try again later, but for this visit, it was just«ok». Nothing to write home about.

Locally grown asparagus! It doesn’t get fresher! $ 3 a bunch. They also have U pick produce in the summer and Helping Hands Produce where volunteers can sign up to help pick the excess produce to donate to food banks.

After THREE attempst at getting a Christmas tree this year, we finally bagged one here. Literally acres of trees awaiting your selection to give them their forever home(or for at least the next month). They had a TON of noble firs growing, but they were all armpit height. I imagine a lot of this is due to the drought in CA this year. We ended up selecting our tree from the very back lot, cutting it down, and bringing it home. I didn’t even realize how enormous it was until we got it into the living room. Our 6′ tree is massively wide! I could actually use all of our Christmas ornaments. And the best part is, it was only $ 40! I think we will definetely be back here next year!

Love this local farmers market, great variety! So hard to get just what you came for. I always end up getting more then enough. Not to far from our house either.

Visited in October mainly for the purpose of taking my toddler to pick out a pumpkin and exploring the farm. During the week its slow pace, there is a great display of pumpkins that climbs up to the sky. There wasn’t any hay/tractor rides going on, they mostly take place on the weekends. But we still had fun exploring the farm equipment and all the fresh veggies at the market. They also sale Christmas trees which you can see from the market, I cant wait to come back to pick out our tree this year. It was also a nice drive from Elk Grove about 25 – 30 mins.

I called them several times this season for cucumbers. Each time, I was told they didn’t have any lugs, just bags. I asked if they could put some aside for me and was told to call back the next day. How friggin’ hard would it have been to simply say, «Yes!» and set aside what I needed? They are an hour drive away from me. I certainly didn’t want to go out there and find out everything was sold. Customer service is not their strong suit.

Davis Ranch is a wonderful place to get produce or pick it yourself. Plenty of parking(dirt or mud, so don’t where your new shoes), there is a little shop for food, coffee, drinks etc. I picked up some pumpkins and they have a very large selection all shapes and sizes. Just be careful when pulling in or out of here onto Highway 16.

I went to Davis Ranch for the first time today and did the U-Pick veggies. I am glad I got there nice and early on such a hot day. I focused on Roma tomatoes and picked 100+#. You have to do some searching for the nicest ones but it was well worth it at 25 cents per pound. I will definitely come back and do this again! Thank you Davis Family and your helpful staff for making this a great experience.

Went there today. 8 ears of corn, a melon, three medium zucchini’s, a basket of cherry tomatoes price? $ 10.00. A bargain!!! I hate grape tomatoes, too sweet. Their cherry tomatoes were fresh and delicious. Now let’s talk about the corn. White corn 8 ears for $ 3.00. Terrific price. Fresh picked as a customer you can see the tractors pull up and unload the corn. Taste: delicious, delicious, delicious. It is as good as Jersey corn(New Jersey known for tasty corn and tomatoes). The white corn was so good I ate 2 ears for dinner. Great place. I also had a fresh lemonade. It was good. My friend has a decaf mocha coffee. She says she gets it every time she goes and it’s good, too.

Great place for the best hand picked corn in No. Cal. Veggies and fruits equally as good. Corn festival in July a good time!

Got my first batch of yellow and white corn today! It was super sweet and fresh I go every year just for the corn. But there is fresh produce throughout the year. A great place to stop and get some snacks for the road when you are heading into the mountains. Toffee almonds are wonderful!

Very poor choice of fruit and vegs. Small peaches, packaged strawberries, $ 3.50 per lb cherries. Corn in abundance, lots of zucchini. Food shack closed. Very disappointed.

Sloughhouse corn is famous for a reason. Sweet and delicious! Fruits and veggies are seasonal and depending on what you’re after might not actually be cheaper than the grocery store. Not what Im going out there for. Major plus is the $ 35-you-cut-any-size Christmas tree farm. Also(and my personal fav) is the giant pumpkin patch with the trailer ride out to get ‘em. Because I’m a Halloween fanatic this is the best for me. If you see some crazy blonde sprinting out to the far end of the pumpkin patch and carrying back a Charlie Brown size great pumpkin… yeah that’s me.

Friendly people, lots of parking. It’s a little early in the season so no corn but everything out looks great!

Great selection of sizes and types of Christmas trees in December and juicy delicious corn in summer! We also like to stop by for produce whenever we get the chance throughout the year.

If you haven’t experienced Davis Ranch you’re definitely missing out. They offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables at great prices. Currently, they have some cool falls activities, like a corn maze, pick your own strawberries and you can find fall themed décor for your home. Additionally, don’t forget to grab some coffee or ice-cream treat. I haven’t tried the tri-tip yet but I’ve been told it’s terrific!

today was the start of their Pumpkin Festival but when we arrived around 130pm it was pretty much nothing going on. Did not see any live band as mentioned, food or vendors? I think It was just too HOT to get out around that time. I did have a chance to pick up some corn which we love and peppers. Other than that I just don’t know what happened??? the picnic area was empty.

My parents just moved up to Wilton and I stopped by for the long weekend/my birthday. The plan was to have my best friend over on Saturday and do a little BBQ. My mom drove us over to the Davis Ranch stand for our veggies. Coming from Southern California we really rely on our farmers markets to get fresh veggies but always pay higher prices because of it. This place was awesome because of the variety in fresh produce and the fact that it didn’t cost an arm and a leg! Walk around the open market and look at all the different options. By far the best thing we had was the sweet corn. My fiancé is from MN so he is very picky about his sweet corn(he claims you can’t get good sweet corn here). He had to eat his words because the corn was delicious!!! We had to come back for a bag to take home with us to grill. Very jealous my parents have this down the street from them. 83⁄100

It was a nice place. They had lots of stuff. But honestly the prices were the same or even a bit higher that grocery store. I kept hearing that the prices were very low. Not true. It was a nice place and it was a nice drive.

This is such a fantastic place to stop and get your produce and it’s very inexpensive. They also have a kiosk where they sell burgers, sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, coffee and other refreshments. They also sell ice. It’s so nice and encouraging to see how this place is always so busy and that people patronize a local non-GMO farm in this way.

Stopped by on a warm saturday morning, almost ran out of gas so got a good tip from the cashier guy that Rancho Murrieta is a couple miles down the road and has a gas station that’s about 25c/gallon more than you would find in town. Was a much better option than running out in the middle of nowhere. Davis Ranch seems to be run like a well oiled machine. Corn available in yellow or white in bags of 8 or more but they were able to get me 4 ears since I didn’t want it to go bad. I really appreciate that they have no GMO whatsoever… Refreshing to say the least. Tomatillos were about the size of cherry tomatoes which are smaller than I prefer. Cherry tomatoes however were very reasonably priced. Regular tomatoes were sold in a large bag that I would’ve preferred to have individually priced since I didn’t want that many. Large watermelons were going for $ 5. They have green tomatoes that are tough to find in a grocery store but having lived in the south in the past, I really appreciate them being available. I LOVE pan fried green tomatoes seasoned with a little salt n pepper n garlic powder dipped in flour, than dipped in an egg wash coated with panko bread crumbs cooked in grape seed oil or olive oil til golden brown, then dipped in a lime garlic aioli sauce with some chopped cilantro(had some extra). If you wanna try the dipping sauce recipe: Honey dew melons were good sized and If I remember correctly were 2 for $ 3 which seemed very reasonable. Plenty of shade trees and covering over the fruits and vegetables. Had the tri tip sandwich which came with some good coleslaw and bbq sauce. Bbq sauce was a bit on the sweet side but decent tri tip portion for $ 8.50. 3 little piggies with sriracha mayo sauce on top of coleslaw and well stuffed double corn tortillas had a great flavor, portion and value for $ 6.50. Its a nice drive out in the country for some lunch and stocked up on some healthy grown fruits and vegetables. Surprised there were so many people there shopping at 10:30am on a saturday morning. Country music was playing in the background. Almost forgot to mention that at first I was going to give the place 4 stars based on the remote location and a few items were priced higher where I could find them cheaper elsewhere. The reason I bumped the rating up to 5 stars… 2 words. KETTLECORN!!! Seriously, THE best kettle corn I have ever tried. Not GMO corn. Perfect amount of sweet coating. Probably the lightest i’ve had but lets just say i’m working on the 3rd bag and have been back 2 times since. Addicted much!

The name Unilocal has given this place is a touch odd, allow me to translate — this is the Davis Ranch in Sloughhouse, CA, and they are famous for their sweet corn. There ya go, confusion averted! A large, popular and very plentiful farmer’s market a moderate drive outside Sacramento — if you have the time and want to get out of the city, they are worth the haul! Along with their epic bags of sweet corn(seriously bring your camera, it’s kind of amazing), I’ve scored wonderful bell peppers and the true prize, green tomatoes, woohoo! Everything you love about a well-run farmer’s market is here. I do think their prices are a touch higher than a standard neighborhood Far-Mar, but you are also paying for a fun environment and some SERIOUS variety and options. Worth the drive from Sac, come score some beautiful fruits & veggies!
