Spartan Race

First time doing the Spartan Race and can’t wait to do it again!
The parking was ten dollars to get in, cash only– understandable.
It’s an awesome vibe when you walk in, the music is loud to get people pumped, everyone is in their gear– it’s a fun environment! To me, it felt like a «no judgement zone.» No one gives off the vibe that one is better than another, which I loved.
I honestly felt like humanity was restored because its not the «every man for themselves,» mindset. Everyone is SO helpful and friendly! You can easily pick up a conversation with the group/​people in front or behind you. People offer to help you if you need assistance over an obstacle. I saw a lady who was about to fall, a man told her to hold on, climbed up and helped her over the wall. If it wasn’t for that guy, she definitely would have fallen.
Glad there were water stations to keep us hydrated. Careful of the large cracks and huge rocks along the course!
I loved the clay portion of the course! I wouldn’t recommend putting a slanted wall AFTER we’ve gone through water and clay because that make us slippery (understanding the challenge). But one lady in front of us couldn’t keep her grip, she slipped down and screamed in pure agony. It scared the rest of the people behind her! Her friend had to scream for a medic and the medic cut her shoe off! It was terrifying to climb that wall after seeing her!
A few food trucks to keep the spectators occupied. Was happy to hit the beer garden for a celebratory drink afterwards.
It is a great accomplishment, and I can’t wait for the next one!

Four stars for the course… my husband said it was sooo much fun minus the divots!
Parking!!!: They have got to get that ShiT together!!! Pouring down rain in the morning and had to park 1 + miles away… then in the afternoon (sunny) they were parking right up front!!!
5 stars for fun (for the runners). 2 for spectators :(No vendors :(Coffee/​tea in the morning… Why not involve local vendors (relevant vendors)?
Great, super fun overall.
BUT… Seriously consider the spectators a little more… Some of the runners depend on our support. «Hanging out» for 3 + hours without the option of leaving and coming back with coffee, food is not supportive!!!

Four stars for the course.
One star for the lack of traffic control.
Five stars for the fun.
Four stars for the excitement.
Get dirty and live dangerously!
