love food served lukewarm at best? this is the place for you! …but seriously everything here tastes bad. & the half price apps are half priced because you literally get half the size of what the appetizer is at full price. What a great deal! So great that I’ll never willingly go again!

Excellent APPS, BLT, and STEAK. Beer nice and cold. Fast service, friendly server. Tuesday night Pretty busy. Have eaten here several times. No issues. I recommend.

Alex the bartender was rude off the bat – dirty looks and attitude for no reason. When your paycheck relies on tips, it should be in your best interest to be polite. I work in customer service and it is not that hard to be courteous to every customer. Food & server was excellent, wish I remembered his name. Not a huge chain restaurant fan, and my 1^st experience at this location reminded me why.

While the food was excellent, my boyfriend went here for dinner during a football game on a Monday night and sat right at the bar with the bartender, Wendy.
The service was fine up until he checked his statement on Thursday, and saw that he had been overcharged $ 5.00. Knowing the amount he spent, and that $ 5.00 putting his account negative he immediately called the manager who was nothing but apologetic. However it is unacceptable that the bartender decided to tip herself extra money after he had already left cash for her, and a generous one at that on the amount of the bill.
I work for a bank, and I know the procedure that happens when fraudulent charges come up on your account, and she is lucky he called there first because I would have gone further.
Moral of the story– if you go here, and have Wendy as your bartender or anyone at any restaurant for that reason, ALWAYS keep a copy of your receipt and check your account afterwards. I can only imagine the amount of people who have been a victim of this bartender or any for that matter.
Please be cautious, and if this happens to you– dispute the charge with your financial institution and call the cops. This is considered THEFT, and it should not be tolerated.

They do have great ribs, but we thought we’d try something new. We ordered online (curbside to go). Food was on time, exactly as promised… HOWEVER…
My husband ordered the chicken penne Alfredo. It was cold & dry… where’s the sauce?
I ordered the 2-​piece appetizer, buffalo wings & mozzarella sticks. Wings were cold & obviously were pre-​frozen. Mozzarella sticks were also cold & dry: p Not happy as I had to re-​cook everything at home.
This is not why we «order out.» I would’ve been better off going to the frozen foods section of the supermarket and saved a lot of money.
Sorry Applebees, but you suck. I will nor return in this lifetime!!!

I have been to different Applebee’s before, but this one was the best experience I have had! Our server was fantastic! She recommended a beer when they didn’t have the one I was looking for. She also came to the rescue when we were our of chips but had lots of spinach and artichoke dip left. Next, the food was great. I had the salmon and veggies cooked on the wood grill and my boyfriend had the Mac and cheese. Whatever sauce they used to coat the crispy chicken has still got him talking. He loved it! Lastly, I really enjoyed the overall look of this Applebee’s. They all look pretty much the same but the set up was different than others and alittle bigger. Plus lots of viewing space to watch the games. Can’t wait to go back!

Never again will I step foot in this place. Food is always awful. Watched the staff and the manager sitting there talking and not paying attention to the customers. And when we asked to talk to the manager he tried arguing with us. This place is a joke.

Applebee’s is always a great American restaurant! Always a good choice for something low key! I’ve been coming to this Smithfield location my entire life, it’s great! However, they have a somewhat confusing menu!!!

Favorite place for late night food. Love their steak. Reasonably priced dinner and lunch menus. Great value for money. But the sweet Asian chili sauce wings is too sweet to be listed under hot section.

Same Old Frozen Food
What can I say it’s Applebee’s. Same cheesy interior and atmosphere. What I can’t understand is that we live in such a small state and this place is always busy with so many great economic eating options.
Let’s get down to it. Ordered a couple of frozen apps and they were mediocre at best. My wife and I split a club sandwich, it wasn’t bad, but it was nothing to write home about.
Tip:
Monday nights is burger night, $ 5.99 and there’s always a beer special.
No fresh 5 out of 10 food and the typical chain restaurant cheesiness.
They do have very attentive and friendly servers.

I’ve always liked Applebee’s as far as chain restaurants. Never been to this location until tonight and overall everything was pretty good. I did a carside order and the service was OK. The burger was actually better then I expected, it was very juicy and didn’t seem like it was a frozen patty. Onion rings were crunchy and not soggy so thats always good. I’d order from here again.

I was obsessed with applebess when I was. Younger. I stopped going there for a bit simply because three days a week made me sick of the food. But now I’m back and loving the quesdilla burger. It’s a big burger stuffed inside a quesdilla. Epic. Very cheese and spicy. For a chain restaurant I find it pretty good. The service is always good. I find them to be attentive and quick to offer another drink. Also at night they have half priced appetizers. Five bucks for a quesidilla. Yup count me in. It’s also a great place to sit and relax at the bar. It always seems to be busy. Would recommend it if your looking for a quick bite at a good value but don’t want fast food.

Very friendly staff, great food, August the manager is also very friendly, Wendy J the bartender is awesome too. No complaints here. Food is always good, I mean it’s not Gormet but neither are the prices. Good price for what you get. Best out of the same restaurants in the area like Chili’s and Uno. Plus, their open late, they brought back the blonde, and always have a good IPA on tap. Very nice.

How this place is still open for business is beyond me, menu sucks, service is par at best, and the generic chain thing is played out. What the hell is an Applebee anyway?

So me and a friend go to Applebee’s in Smithfield. Maybe we saw too many ads!
I ask the waitress if they have fajitas, she replies that it is not on the menu but they can make it for me. WOW my lucky day!
I ask for a steak, chicken and shrimp fajita. The fajita comes out, and it was the worst fajita I have eaten in my LIFE!
The entire meal was horrible. The Shrimp tasted like chewy candy, the chicken tasted like rubber and the steak well lets just say my dog has eaten better steak.
We ordered a Build Your Own sampler, the only thing that had some taste was the mozzarella sticks and how is it to mess up mozzarella sticks. The burger sliders they were ok, and the queso cheese dip, i could have eaten better from Frito Lay!
We also ordered a side of wings, the celery was at least 3 days old. Look at the picture!
I would not got back to Applebees in Smithfield if you paid me. I could get a better meal from the local pizza shop.

Everytime I go to this Applebee’s I leave swearing I’ll never go back. I wouldn’t if it wasn’t for people giving me gift cards for the place. Food is nothing special IMO… Have to say I’ve never been to a restaurant where I was given the option of «Pink» or «Not Pink» when asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. I guess the chef has limited ability to cook a burger… well, we ordered «pink» AND our burger came out dry, over cooked and dead. Given TWO choices the chef got it wrong… Unbelievable! The manager was nice and did comp us a dessert and apologized.
No more Applebees gift cards please.

The 2 for $ 20 features many entrees and is a terrific value.
In addition, the Happy Hour/​Late Night special offers are pretty good too.
At this particular location, the service is better more often than it is not.

Favorite chain restaurant in town. Always a fun atmosphere with people you know around, and a very friendly, helpful staff. Great drink and app deals, and the food always tastes good at this one, too! I always go after dinner time, so a wait is never a problem. Trivia night is fun, also. I have a soft spot for this Applebee’s. Great new deco, too! Don’t come expecting 5 star food… just great chain-​food, yummy appetizers, good drinks and nice people!

I’ve come to this restaurant on multiple occasions to this location only and I think I’ve only once had a good meal. I’m a vegetarian so it’s even harder to find something without meat on the menu. All of their items tend to be greasy, fried, and extremely salty. Even their lemonades cannot be more sweeter, leaving a yucky taste in your mouth.
Recently I was at Applebees with my boyfriend and friends and had a terrible experience. I ordered the tomato soup and a side of cheese fries. The waitress forgot about my order completely and I didn’t receive my order until a half hour later. The only reason that I did get it was my boyfriend had complained to the manager. Our waitress, Wendy, was not ver accommodating, forgetful, and gave me a few nasty looks when I couldn’t decide what I wanted to eat on their very «expansive» menu. I was going to order dessert, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I just wanted to leave.
Thank goodness my meal was free after being forgotten about because it was not very good. The tomato soup was extremely salty and it had soggy salad croutons covering the top. The cheese fries which I ordered without any seasoning, were still very salty, they were hard and cold and the cheese on top was mexican style shredded cheese, not very good.
Even though I like very interesting food and chain food is not my go to option I always give it a try, the restaurant is local and the food is assumed to be quick. Instead our waitress was nasty giving sharp remarks to us at our table and my food took forever. Every time I go back and back, I simply enjoy my company and do not focus on the food. If you want to meet up with friends at Applebees I suggest getting a sandwich somewhere and then coming to the restaurant just to have a drink and hang out. Don’t order the lemonade or ice tea though!

I have nothing against the Applebee’s chain personally, but this was my third ever visit to this location and my third lousy experience.
On my first visit, I was afflicted with such painfully slow service I vowed never to return. On my second visit, the food was so bad I was motivated to make my first-​ever complaint to a Corporate home office. The person I spoke with was very nice, apologetic and I was assured the manager would contact me right away — I never heard a thing.
This time, I had the unfortunate luck to walk in late on trivia night, and though the food was acceptable and the service attentive (when I could hear her over the screaming, hooting teenagers running up and down the aisles) the noise and chaos gave me indigestion and a throbbing headache.
In all fairness to Applebee’s, I rate my inexplicable decision to return to this restaurant a 1 out of 5 as well.
