Ate here on a whim after visiting the hospital.
It is not fancy but if you want fresh fried seafood it is good.
It is an old fashioned southern seafood market that also serves fried seafood.
It is fresh, local and hot and you can get fish that most places no longer serve
On Thursday they have a delicious eastern NC fish stew.

Barbee seafood is an awesome place to eat on the cheap. they have a trout special for under 5.00. The special comes with two sides either fried apples, green beans, coleslaw, boil potatoes, french fries… Also hot hushpuppies. You can also get the flounder special, catfish, shrimp, oysters, croakers, and trout. You can also buy fresh fish ie red snapper, bushels of oysters, clams, crabs, blues, flounder, and catfish. They sell cornmeal, fresh grated cabbage too.
Get there early before 2:00 because they usually run out of fresh fish and cooked fish. It is a locally own business that provides clean, excellent service and a friendly staff. They are closed on Sunday and some holidays so call first.
