Yum Yum Yum!!! This place could easily best any restaurant in Providence. I am not a drinker but my friends loved the bar and the bartender. Spring sangria was delish according to my friend and my other friend had Tequila Mockingbird… the name makes me love this restaurant but the drink was amazing. They start you off with cornbread and biscuits. The cornbread had some hints of black pepper to give it some spice. The maple butter was a good balance with the cornbread. We started with the calamari. It was so tender and spicy! Then the street corn came slathered with cheese that reminded me of Elote! I had the shrimp po boy which was good. Aioli was nice and spicy and the shrimp were huge. A little too much bread but I just tore it off. My friend had the lamb burger which was delicious and came on the middle eastern style bread that is homemade in house and so tender… my other friend has had the ricotta gnocchi bolognese and she said it was quite tender. We did save some room for dessert. Key lime pie! It’s not bright green so you know it’s legit. The pecan crumb cake was off the hook tender on the inside with a crispy crust and some ice cream to top it off. Definitely a repeat hitter. I will definitely be back despite its slightly out of the way location! Also, free parking…

Cook & Dagger is one of my favorite places to eat. The daily wing specials are always imaginative and delicious. The wings fall off the bone without being soggy. The grilled Caesar is to die for, I’ve literally never had anything on the menu that I didn’t love. Sunday brunch is excellent, try the ‘breakfast in a jar’ with braised short rib. The décor is sparce, yes, but when the food is amazing, homemade, and reasonably priced, who cares? I’m not there to look at the walls. The staff is awesome, and super friendly.

Wow, delicious food and drink. Started with a sangria and a grapefruit Gatsby, with some delish hot cornbread/biscuit brought to the table. Great start to an amazing meal. We had the wings d’ jour with a pepper maple glaze and croquettes for apps, shrimp po’ boy and the fried chicken sandwich. Server Kristen was very attentive and made some of the best drinks I’ve had in a while. The wings… we couldn’t stop eating them. Croquettes were perfect, not greasy or overdone Both dishes arrived hot, great flavor combinations. Sandwiches were huge portions and done perfect! Love the convenience of this place, too, it stands out in a sea of shitty chain restaurants. side note, try Kristen’s limoncello and fireball shots. Definitely a must try restaurant, we will be back

Went here this past Monday night, there were a few people in the restaurant and we were sat right away. Service was good but the price was high. 3 sandwiches 1 salad a Budweiser and a soda for $ 65. The food should have built up flavor profiles if you are charging high end prices. The price will keep me away.

My visit today was my second at Cook & Dagger. Both visits were for Sunday Brunch. I have mixed emotions about this place. Let’s start with the décor: its lacking. The bar is the best part of the entire restaurant. The beautiful wood wall behind the bar sets the tone for a comfortable and industrial look, but thats not carried throughout the entire restaurant. It needs items to give it some kind of more definable style. Next is the food. There’s a ton of potential here. Last week I ordered the special eggs benedict, and it came to me missing the one thing I wanted the most, cornbread. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it until I got home. It was tasty but was missing another component; the cornbread would have been perfect! Today I ordered the lamb burger. The fries were good but over salted, I was never asked how I wanted it cooked so I’m assuming there isn’t a choice. I think the bread it comes on is a bit too large and thick for the patty. I ordered the croquettes both times and they were definitely under seasoned this time around. Lastly is the service. Right now, this is my biggest complaint. We had the same waitress both times; shes very friendly and I like her, but the service itself is incredibly slow. Both days my party and I waited a long time for extra drinks(and our glasses had been empty on the table for a long time). Perhaps they could pay a little more attention to all of their tables. Overall I like it here. I think I need to try a weeknight dinner service and make a better judgment.

We were not sure what to expect but going by the good reviews we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was a little weird.(pop) music was a little loud, was pretty chilly, and brown paper lining on the tables, but dimmed lighting and candles? Kinda confusing and hard to judge what mood they are aiming for here. I loved that there was a real candle on the table but it did feel not as cozy as I would have liked given the prices and menu. The fresh baked biscuits and butter were very good and I could have eaten them all night. The waitress was nice but I’m not sure if there were any specials of the night, as we were not told of any, and I’m also just now seeing on these reviews that they offer dessert, which we were not told and was not on the menu, either. I got the clam chowder and my husband got a garden salad. His garden salad was beautiful and the flavors were perfect, but we were not a huge fan of the soup. It is definitely not traditional, which I can appreciate, but there were way too many flavors going on at once and way too much dill, like three times too much dill. I did not finish it and I’ve never left a bowl of chowder unfinished. We also got the pork belly quesadilla which he loved but I thought was a bit too spicy even without the sauce, but that’s a matter of preference and we both still enjoyed it. For the main course he got the chicken sandwich and I got a cheeseburger. I had been craving a burger for weeks and very rarely do I not enjoy a burger but about 10 minutes after ordering, I was told they can only cook the burgers medium well-well. In my opinion, that’s just fine but if you can not cook a burger medium rare, it should not be a $ 13 burger, as I can get a well done less tasty burger for much cheaper elsewhere. It was still a decent burger but since I lile my burgers medium rare and juicy, it was not worth $ 13 imo. My husbands chicken sandwich was very good. The sauce they added onto it was great and the chicken was juicy. The fries we both got were very good as well. Overall it was not bad but I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon due to the limited menu and somewhat higher prices. There is definitely potential, starting with ditching the paper tablecloths.

SO. GOOD. Cook and Dagger has been on my list for a while now but we just got around to going last night because we weren’t in the mood for Providence. It was quiet at 7:15 on a Friday but not dead. Our waiter(hi Cam!) was friendly and knowledgeable. He made everything sound good but we would not have ordered the wings du jour if he didn’t tell us they were confit. That nights sauce was honey mustard with bacon jam– they were AMAZING. Like best I ever had. Also, the bread for the table was biscuits and cornbread with a maple butter hat wasn’t abrasively mapley, I snuck the remaining pieces into my togo container(sorry). For dinner my fiancé got a pork sandwich he really enjoyed, I got the fried chicken sandwich which was served on a biscuit. It was to die for– however the biscuit was A BISCUIT and immediately disintegrated upon first bite. The flavors were so great I can’t even take off any stars, but wrap that shit like a Johnny Rockets burger to make it a little easier! Anyway– excited to go back and try more and enjoy the great service!

Came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. First of all, the melon and cucumber mojito was literally the best mojito I’ve ever had. It was so refreshing and had perfectly balanced flavors of cucumber, mint, and a hint of melon fruitiness. We tried the croquettes, pork belly quesadillas, clam chowder, and the cheeseburger. All of the flavors were so bold, and you can really taste the craftsmanship of the chef in all of the dishes we tried. Everything was so herbaceous and just totally different from other restaurants we’ve tried in the area. We will definitely be back to try some of the other delicious looking entrees on the menu!

Another good meal, going to try desert tonight. Wait staff is excellent, some subtle menu changes for the spring. Mussels Verde is a must every time we come, grille for 2, hanger steak, all great meals. We will be back often!

Cook & Dagger is… phenomenal. It’s so good it’s hard to know where to begin, but I’ll try. Cook & Dagger is like Julians if all the smirking hipsters were actually friendly and wanted your patronage. This is a 5 star eatery located in the third crappiest town in Rhode Island. It is so seriously out of place it raises the entire cultural language of an area that has done nothing but put up more stoplights and attract so many chains that it’s made Route 44 into a bowel obstruction. Cook & Dagger actually makes Smithfield worth driving to again. It’s just that good. Everything is made in house; every peck of bread and wisp of sauce and pat of butter is created about 17 feet away from where you’re dining and it shows. The combinations available can look a touch esoteric but trust these chefs — they absolutely know what they are doing. You can tell that each plate is given personal, professional attention. Who knows how they got the staff to come here; Cook & Dagger belongs in the heart of Providence and could easily charge those types of prices. The in-house, copper-top bar looks like it was hijacked from the Grange and gives off a funky, retro vibe that serves as the focal point for some off-beat and delicious drink combinations. Along with lists of craft beers, the bartenders are skilled in making a number of specialty drinks with clever names. Again, the combinations may seem a little off-beat. Trust them. You will not be disappointed. Side Notes: –The Parking Lot out front is small and right on a 44 death intersection. It is far easier to follow the giant sign that says«Parking Around Back» which puts you right next to the veterinary clinic than it is to park out front in anything more than a compact car. –The hours are interesting. They have lunch a few days of the week, are closed Tuesdays, have a Sunday brunch and are generally open from 4pm — Midnight. And god knows what midnight looks like in this part of Smithfield. Probably the opening to the Walking Dead. We can’t *wait* to grab a table at 11pm some random Saturday.

Great wait staff. They have an in depth knowledge of everything on the menu, and if you happen to have a vegetarian or special dietary dining preference they will make special off menu accommodations without hesitation. You can’t beat a place with service this good. Try the Brussel sprouts!

Awesome wings, just amazing. They are juicy, crunchy, fall off the bone and they have some of the best unique flavors I’ve ever had. The fish tacos were also incredible. We also got one of every desert because the three of us couldn’t decide on just 3 lol. So lucky to have such a great new place right around the corner from home. My only regret is waiting so long to try it.

This was a wonderful experience as far as the service and the surprising atmosphere. When you walk in the door everything’s minimalist and very laid-back but when the food is presented to you you are seeing five star service. The field was beautifully made an artistic to the point of food network. I gave it three stars because while the food was beautiful to look at and it was well-made it wasn’t all together as wonderful as I would’ve expected for the prices that we paid. I definitely would recommend this restaurant for people to try it’s an experience and you should miss out on you experiences. All in all I’m really happy that we went but it’s not going to be on our regular list of places to venture too.

Sunday brunch was outstanding(food was delicious and portions were perfect). American fare well executed. Just honest, good food. Drinks are heartwarming, well crafted and can rival Julian’s or even the Grange. Overall great wine selection. Service was very good. Staff is well experienced. I hope dearly this place carves itself a niche amongst locals, it’s a nice little gem outside of providence.

Went here on restaurant week. Had a fabulous meal! We started w/chicken wings(not part of restaurant week); tried the jalapeño wings, BBQ wings, & traditional buffalo wings. They were cooked well; crispy. Flavor was good, not great; certainly wasn’t disappointed. I had croquettes as my appetizer; the star of the meal for sure. So tasty! My meal was gnocchi; very, very good. And heated well for my lunch the next day For dessert, I had the bread pudding. This was really good too… finished every bite… lol! So glad my SIL&BIL recommended this place. Will definitely be back!

I’ve been twice now. I love love love this place. They have some amazing dishes and you can tell the chef/owners know what they’re doing and really care about the menu. I really enjoyed the service I received my first time there… I believe his name was Cam. The place was pretty empty, so he had time to spoil us. The second time wasn’t horrible, just not as over the top amazing as the first. I wish the dessert options were more diverse. That’s one of my only complaints. The wings are probably my favorite. They con fit them before finishing them off and tossing in the sauce. The BBQ are probably the best, and I don’t even care all that much for BBQ. The grits are the best I’ve ever had, hands down. Can’t wait to try the brunch.

Well, what can I say about this place. There is only one word that comes to mind… PHENOMENAL. That’s right! In all caps! I was absolutely blown away by every course we ordered here. My wife and I came here for the RI Food Fights Wing challenge, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The wings were delicious, fall off the bone, juicy but crispy hunks of goodness! Croquettes were perfectly crunchy and smooth inside. Gnocchi bolognese. That. Is. All. This has been the best bolognese I have ever had. The gnocchi were perfectly cooked pillows of awesomeness. The cheesy grits were to die for! Cooked perfectly and in a «lake of butter», but not in a bad way, as per my wife. The service complimented the food very well. Our server was professional but also had fun doing his job. He was on point with everything. We will be coming back very, very soon.

Intimate restaurant with an assortment of unique food items and amazing craft drinks. The perfect atmosphere for a nice date night or a small group of friends. For appetizers we ordered: Croquette Manchego Cheese, Serrano Ham, Chipotle Aioli Crispy Brussels Sprouts Goat Cheese, Lemon Caper Aioli The Brussels sprouts were an absolute slam dunk, I will be back just to have some more of these. The croquette’s were also delicious and the Chipotle aioli had a nice kick to it. We enjoyed these appetizers so much we ordered one of the specials afterwards, beef brisket served over polenta, and it was equally as enjoyable. For drinks we had: About Cherry Greatfruit Gatsby Tequilla craft cocktail(the name escapes me) All three craft drinks were delicious, whatever you poison, they have the concoction to take it to the next level. If I had to pick a favorite mine would be the tequilla drink as it was made with jalapenos that gave it a little extra spice. The main courses: Beet Salad Beets 3 Ways, Mustard Vinaigrette, Beet Green Chimichurri, Goat Cheese Croutons Cheeseburger(13) American & Cheddar Cheeses, Lettuce, Tomato add: Bacon, Egg, Caramelized Onions, Mushrooms, or Truffle Aioli for $ 1 each I’ll admit I wasn’t very adventurous on ordering a burger, but I had been craving one all week and our server informed me it was made with two 5 ounce patties. I added mushrooms and the truffle aioli, but for $ 13 alone, that burger could have fed two of me. It was so juicy and full of flavor, I was disappointed only when I felt full and couldn’t push through the wall to keep eating. The beet salad was fresh, full of beats, and the goat cheese croutons really added a nice textured finish. My girlfriend’s only criticism was of the type of greens used in the salad as there were a lot of stalks and stems, not that many leafy greens(if that description makes sense). We were very impressed with the intricate menu options, the absolutely mouth watering food we tried, and the depth of the craft cocktails. This business has only been open a little less that two months, and we can’t wait to go back for dinner or brunch. Also, our server Owen was a rock star, knew every item on the menu, every sauce, and provided recommendations suited for us. Well done all around!

So disappointed was anxious to dine here, but what a let down except for the service(Owen) he was so enthused about the menu but the kitchen let him down on many of the dishes. Olives– very good Brussels sprouts — very good Chicken wings — meh… average at best(du jour was Caesar dressed) has to ask for more dressing, even then. .they just didn’t entice enough to return for. Octopus — forget it, they took baby octopus and charred them so badly they didn’t taste anything like octopus(weak portions for the better) Steak Entrée which I still can’t pronounce was tough, except for the fingerling potatoes and more crispy Brussels I would have sent back. Unilocal reviews are all very subjective according to the culinary experience of the diner. I don’t want to put the kibash on a new establishment, but come on boys you can do much better..
