I had a small chip in my windshield that was repaired by going through my insurance. The insurer contracted with this company to fix the star shaped chip. The options I had available was a repair at no cost or a replacement at a $ 100 deductible. I opted to have the chip repaired. I have had friends who have had similar cracks in their windshields repaired and the end result is a small spot that looks like a water mark. I was expecting similar results which I could have lived with. The technician who came out was courteous and showed up on time. That was about it as far as good service went. The problem I had is that it had been raining the night before and my car was still wet. I asked the technician if the water on the crack would be a problem to which he replied«no, not at all». Ok, I trusted him on that one which turned out to be a mistake. He tried to manage my expectations by saying sometimes the repair comes out looking perfect and sometimes not at all. It turns out my case was the latter. After he finished the patch job the star shaped chip was still there and looked like it had before. I told him as much to which he replied«oh, there must have been some water particles in there that caused it not to patch as well»…wth? That is why I had asked in the first place. I would have been willing to wait a extra day or however long to try and dry out the crack if I had known that the water would have affected the end result. He assured me that they have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and that if I had any concerns at all to contact their home office. Well, attempting to be understanding, I decided to give it a few days to see if I could live with it after driving around some. Turns out, nope. It’s a eyesore in my field of vision and I contacted the home office to ask them what to do. They said they would be happy to replace the windshield which would cost me around $ 200. So in their minds, customer satisfaction involves doing shoddy work and then offering to charge the customer to fix the shoddy work. Nice… I would like to point out that the purpose of a patch is just to keep the crack from spreading. To that end, they accomplished the goal but the way they went about it is what sits wrong with me. Oh well, live and learn I guess… and try a different company if you ever have need for a patch job on your windshield.
