First I must ask why would anyone living on LI would go to any chain Italian restaurant is beyond comprehension. There are at least a dozen pizzerias within 2 miles with better food. Try Ill Trio, Emilos, Branchaneles(spelling?) plus at least a dozen more up-scale places that puts this place to shame. Even though nothing beats a good«slice» I have a thing for wood fired pizza. Their’s was awful. Try Anthony’s. The bread, I have no idea what it was, ½ Italian, ½ white bread mixed together? The sausage soup was good. The calamari was tender but over all take a pass. I had a shrimp and scallop dish. It was awful. The Shrimps were over cooked and cold swimming in a garlic gravy sprinkled with bread crumbs. It was served with a very traditional Italian dish, mashed potatoes. Which was the best part of the meal. This is the 2nd time I’ve been there so shame on me. We joined some friends so I figured I could find something safe. I went for the chicken parm. My friend told me to take a pass, it’s not very good here. How can chicken parm be bad? He eats it all the time and said not here. Service was ok and the Bloody Mary was good. I would eat sushi before I’d go back.

We’ve been getting food from this Carrabba’s for years now so I think a review is long overdue. From sit downs to caterings, this restaurant has hosted many family events over the years. Through it all, we have had a great experience every single time. Today, they hosted a communion at our home and the staff served all the food we had(including home made food), insisted upon helping to clean up, serving our desserts, and they practically refused a break. Such a great experience! Thank you!

If you’ve ever had any reservations about chain restaurants then you are not alone. However I am here to dispel your fears. This establishment is remarkable. The quality of ingredients, the delicious offerings, the setting and the friendliness of the staff was extraordinary. I ordered the chicken Bryan which was unbelievably tasty– such an intelligent combination of ingredients creating a sweet and savory combination. But this review would not be complete without recognition of our excellent server. Joseph stood out as perhaps one of the best food service personnel I have ever had. I came here with my boyfriend the other night and we could not stop raving about his knowledge of the food, his pleasant demeanor and his attention to detail. Highly highly recommend.

I have eaten here twice and my two servers, Amanda and Sam were excellent. They were extremely friendly and knew the menu well and made delicious suggestions. I had the Mezzaluna pasta which was tasty and the fresh bread is always warm. The 5 stars is for the 2 servers who gave me a pleasant experience.

Food was good, help wasn’t attentive. Older man in charge probably needs to go too. Took a long time to get change and they weren’t busy. When I did get change they didn’t give me back the coins guess they round up which makes me round down for tip.

I came here for the first time last night and was really excited to come after I’ve heard so much about this place! A friend and I sat at the bar while we waited for a table. It was a 45 minute wait but it was a Saturday evening so I wasn’t surprised. The bar area was packed but we managed to grab a chair and order some drinks. We didn’t even know it was happy hour until the bartender told us! Score! They do happy hour every day from 4 – 7 which is really awesome. We both got caraba-ritas to start which is their version of a margarita. I only am honest in all my reviews and the drink was really bad. Very very sour! I couldn’t even taste the alcohol. My friend passed me his drink to finish it and he got a pomegranate martinis next. Again, it really wasn’t good at all. All we tasted was grapefruit juice. We put in some happy hour apps and those were outstanding! We ordered the mini risotto balls and calamari and they both just tasted so good! We scarfed them down in no time! Even though the drinks sucked the bartenders were both super nice and very attentive. Easy to grab when we had a question and made the drinks quickly. When we were sat they put us at a low top table that was right behind where we were sitting at the bar. I didn’t really like the seat but I’m not one to fuss about that. It just was weird sitting at such a low table when the bar is raised and there was a very long family style table that was also raised right next to us AND the boots around us were raised. Whatever. Our server came right over and he was so nice! They really have a great staff here! My friend and I both ordered the lobster ravioli that was to die for. Paired it with the minestrone soup that it comes with and some fresh cheese and holy crap, just all so good. The server made a point to tell us that the food all comes from scratch so if we want to alter anything we can. Both our plates came out within about 10 minutes from us getting the soup which was perfect. All in all I defiantly would come back here again to try other things on the menu. Next time I will probably ask for a nicer table even if I have to wait loner and I will order wine instead of a mixed drink lol.

I’ve never had a meal here I didn’t love. I had the veal chop tonight and it was perfect. I know many of these chain Restaurants precook most of the food/sauces and simply open a bag to serve. There is no way this grilled veal chop was pre cooked. It’s was fantastic along with the awesome blackberry sangria. Amazing service plus a 20% off coupon = 5 stars. I going to keep coming back and I don’t care if it’s a chain.

An update on my previous review. Carrabbas recently renovated the interior of what had been a very nice restaurant with spacious tables and large cozy high back booths. This renovation is absolutely horrible. Whoever came up with this setup should be out of a job, they couldnt design the interior of a Taco Bell. They turned a nice restaurant into a loud dining hall. It is now one big open floor plan with many tables on top of each other. High back booths are now low back booths where you can here everything the person behind you is saying. There is no separation. Hostess stand is literally on top of the table behind it. Waiting area is almost on top of the tables next to it and these tables get a blast of cold air whenever the door opens. Oh, and I cant forget about the booths with windows that arent sealed properly and wind blows in from around the edges of the window. How about a partial glass partition between each booth so you dont feel like youre talking to the people in the booth behind or in front of you? Noise level is now high and it feels like youre in a dining hall. Its recently been busy with the 20% off coupon promo but I cant imagine that this new renovation will keep customers coming in. Its really uninviting. Food remains very good but the renovation is a disaster so I doubt we will be back anytime soon.

Came here last night with my family. We called a-head because they do not take reservations but that didn’t really do anything for us. We arrived at 6:10 and waited for about 30min before being seated. The restaurant is pretty small and there’s not a lot of room to wait. There is a bar but it was completely packed when we were waiting to be seated. We received complimentary bread with olive oil and spices after ordering our meals. Almost all entrees came with salad or soup which was nice. You can choose from house, caesar, or Italian salad or 2 – 3 types of soup. I ordered the grilled Tuscan chicken which came with a side I could choose from. I ordered the seasonal vegetables which was only green beans and to have asparagus you have to pay an extra $ 1.50. The meal seemed to be lacking when it came out. I finished within 5min and was hungry about an hour later. My family members who ordered pasta said they gave just enough pasta for them. However, my grandmother ordered gluten free pasta which we were told would take a little longer because it was cooked separately from the other pasta, which is understandable. When she took a bite, the pasta was completely overcooked. There’s no reason why pasta should be served overcooked. The overall atmosphere was normal for a chain restaurant. Probably won’t be coming back because the portions are too small for the price and having cooks working who do not know how to cook something simple like pasta.

Came here last night. The food is good! We ordered the shrimp and steak combo and the ciopini. Though I think the actual entrée portions are small, they fill you up with bread and soup/salad. The meal was 50% bread and soup.

So good! The food is delicious and has a very«fresh» taste to it. You can«taste» the love and passion that goes in the food because it doesn’t taste like something that was just thrown together. The bread and oil you get at the start of the meal is delicious as well. If you’re coming here for dinner you can«skip the line» by going to their website and entering your name. It will save you about 20⁄25 mins of waiting or even more on a «date night»

Really people? 4 and 5 star reviews on chain Italian, with crappy service as well as some of the lamest versions of classic dishes I’ve ever experienced? Okay maybe I’ve had worse and maybe I’m bias towards chain restaurants, and mayyyyybe I’ve had a decent dish but nothing really worth going out of my way for. Spend just a few more dollars, travel elsewhere, support an actual business, and enjoy your meal. Actually, don’t. Go to Carrabas, go to Olive Garden, and stay away from anywhere I may bump into you. Let me guess you are the drones who like Ciao baby too.

Poor! This location is the worst! Quality of the food is just not there! 2nd time I went there recently to give it another chance. cold calamari n raw pork chop. The manager doesn’t seem to be concerned either. Never going back.

I am really surprised by the food here. For a chain, the quality and flavor is great. We were there on a night where a bottle of wine was ½ off so we opted for a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Also it was happy hour so drinks even at the tables were half off. The bread is served hot and fresh baked with olive oil and spices. We opted out of appetizers as the dinners came with salad which was fresh and delicious. I don’t remember what mine was called but it was shrimp and scallops that were broiled with breadcrumbs and lemon/white wine sauce. Instead of pasta I had asparagus for a slight up charge. Both were delicious and executed perfectly. My co-diners had pasta and chicken dishes that all looked good(they said they were). The server and service overall was excellent. Also, when we arrived and sat at the bar, they gave a happy hour menu which appears to be all discounted appetizers. Will def be back to try this as I love to make appetizers my dinner.

First time here, there was a 30 minute wait for a table, but we were able to sit right away at the counter with a view of the kitchen. It was a treat watching the kitchen guys cook and this isn’t your average«chain restaurant» crap. It’s real, honest Italian food unlike the bastardized food that Olive Garden sells. Anyway, as I eluded too above, the food was great, albeit a bit slow. We ordered the Arincini for an appetizer, but they were out so we ordered the chicken parm flatbread(delicious). There was a mixup of some sort with the changed order so it took a while, but was worth the wait. And the item was removed from our bill for the inconvenience without us even mentioning it. Cesar salad was a little dressing heavy but the dressing was tasty. And the entrees(Fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken and Shrimp/Scallop Linguine w/vodka sauce) were also great. And outside of the speed, the service was noteworthy in a positive way. Great experience overall. We will definitely recommend to others, and we will for sure be back ourselves

This place is great. I know we can frown upon another chain Italian restaurant on Long Island, but Carabba’s surely is good. Try it out! Great food, awesome desserts, and such cute décor! The prices are great! Awesome date night location! I will be returning to sample other things on the menu! Happy Unilocaling!

Not a bad place to come and have a casual«Italian» dinner a la spirit of Outback/Bonefish(same franchise). I’ve been here several times and have had some hits and misses. People generally LOVE this place as its always packed out. especially on the w/e.where waits easily exceed 90minutes or so… and imho, definitely not worth it! It has been my experience that the food here is heavily laden with salt. For example, a few thing that come to my mind here which exemplifies this would be their chicken parm, lasagna, fettuccini alfredo… all extremely salty… as in I’ve sent them all back in lieu of something less saline. The calamari should really be taken off the menu altogether as it is that offensive and inedible. I usually go with their Tic Tac Pac pasta dish which is more on the lighter side. This sounds like a really negative review, but I do like Carrabbas, just not that much since high blood pressure runs in my family. Service has always been on point here, and very friendly hosts and servers who take the time to tell you about their specials and such. The dining area is really attractive as well and can accommodate large groups. The open kitchen concept is pretty cool and I love the aroma of Italian cheeses wafting through the air as you walk in. Wednesdays, bottles of wine are half price which is a great deal which I enjoy sharing along with a few appetizers among friends. I know now to stay away from the over salty and bloating main entrees here. Avoid en masse diners on weekends!

After going to the smith Haven mall I wanted to try a different restaurant. I stopped at Carrabba’s. The first thing that caught my eye was the open kitchen. You can see the food being cooked right in front of you. If you really want to get a closer look there are seats right in front of the kitchen so you can get samples and really appreciate the work that goes into your food. The one dish that stood out was there Fettuccine afredo, It was very light and creamy. The service was professional and I would definitely go back.

Good, solid dependable quality food. I like that you get good bread with garlic olive oil, choice of soup/salad and main course. I had the lentil and sausage soup which was very good, hearty, hot and spicy — perfect for a cold day. For the main course i had the Sirloin Marsala with garlic mashed potatoes — not bad, meat quality is good enough for the price, sauce is balanced and flavorful. Sangria is very tasty, just the right mix.
