Faraday’s

Unless it’s a REALLY BAD review, I like to wait a day or two before posting. That way, the positives really highlight themselves in my mind. The sharp-​edged negatives also seem to lose a little of their sting.
The food was very good. Their menu is kind of all over the place but there should be something for everyone. Being that it’s a pub, I ordered the shepherds pie and was very pleased. Gf ordered some kind of teriyaki steak with pineapple over mashed potatoes and lettuce. She was pleased also.
The service was iffy. 4 different servers brought us our food and drinks. None of which were the waitress who took our order. Never got our salads. Got two beers I didn’t order while my first glass was still full. Then waited 10 mins for a beer when my glass was empty.
The pub customers come through the dining room to the restroom. No prob for me. This one guy thought he was being cute and would stop and flirt with my gf every time he staggered by though. He was a cute little old man so I didn’t really have a problem. But, it was annoying because I’m trying to eat my friggin dinner here. They do have outdoor seating which would have eliminated this problem. Next time.
Sounds like a 3 star rating to me right? Maybe less, in fact!
No… The soup… My God, the soup!!!
On the special menu they had this «white French onion» soup. They should make this every day, all day. It was a creamy onion soup with cheese and prosciutto. It’s 10am so Faraday’s probably isn’t open, but it’s all I can think about and I’m seriously considering breaking in through the window to get some more.
THE BEST SOUP I HAVE EVER HAD. BY A MILE.

I love coming here and getting the butternut squash ravioli with grand mariner sauce! All the food is so great! It’s a smithtown staple!

Great food, service and laid back atmosphere make faradays a good stop for a relaxing night out on the town.

I just love Faradays. Its a cozy rustic little place that has a warm local feel and a pub like dimly lit atmosphere. Now I have never actually had the time to go sit down and eat. I always either have it delivered or I take the drive to pick up myself. I keep meaning to go eat in. Especially when its nippy and cold outside its like a warm hug waking in the door and into the smiley friendly faces inside. It is not huge its small and cozy with one bar area and a dining area. I love the exposed brick walls.
As far as food, I am addicted to the chicken with Hennessy cream sauce. I believe it may be the reason I gained 15 pounds in the winter of 2013. It has thin sliced Italian ham, melted mozzarella, onions, mushrooms and spinach in a Hennessy spiked cream sauce over chicken and Orecchiette. The dish is freakin delicious. Their soups are usually always wonderful. My husband likes the steak dishes like the Guinness New York strip. Its not super expensive but its not a bargain either. Expect your entrée to be somewhere between $ 17 to $ 30 per entrée. I think it is worth it for sure.
There is parking in the back because in the front is on busy main street and limited.
I can not vouch for the in house service yet but they are always very sweet on the phone And pick-​up.

when your having a need for rich decadent home style food and coziness. Trust me on this one.

Get the burger that’s what they do best. Big beer selection. Other food sub par multi entrees at our table nothing I’d eat again. Stay with the burger. Only getting 2 stars cause decent beer selection. More IPAS please

Food was great. Service was excellent. Loved the multigrain bread with the salad. We sat out back under an enclosed awning. Went with a group of 6 of us and everyone was happy with what they ordered. I would go back if I’m in that area again.

My husband and I order from here all the time. We use grab my grub service for
far no matter what we have ordered it has been on point and super delicious. There burgers are amazing w. e order the chicken bbq salad which is out of this world. There appetizer for 2 which was awesome clams were so tasty buffalo wings were great. all and all amazing

Extremely friendly, welcoming staff. Our waitress Saturday night was a sweetheart and her recommendations were excellent. Very attentive to customers and accommodating. Small place but very quaint. Highly recommend it!

The burgers are no joke. Some of the best Ive had. The peppercorn sauce is my favorite; I could dip everything in it and drink it with a straw and also bathe in it. Owners are friendly and usually there, which I love! Nothing like a typical chain — just turning out amazing dishes from open to close!

Faraday’s is definitely a hometown pub. Everyone at the bar was local and very friendly. I was here on business and always look for a local place to go to get a drink and eat good food. This place nailed it. The bartender was personable and offered samples of beers I never had. The locals made me feel welcomed and offered conversation throughout the night.
The food was good. The wings were ok, not great. The burger I had was ridiculous! Fresh, homemade ground beef patty with sautéed onions and pork BBQ. It was FANTASTIC.
I will return next time I’m in town!

Faraday’s you sneaky bastard… hiding along 25A between Long Island Horse Properties and Smithtown Bicycle. How many times have I driven past you and not even given you a second glance; assuming your storefront was an insurance agency or a dojo? How many delicious burgers have a I missed out on? Well no more I tell you! You have been discovered and you are my new best friend!

PS: Long Island Horse Properties? Who has horses? Is there a Polo Club or a Chariot Racing Club I’m unaware of? Hey Ben Hur, buy a Prius, they’re green too.

Consistently the BEST quality– food– company– and drinks. What more can you really ask for? Faradays is so cozy. I have enjoyed both the dining room and time at the bar and I can honestly say that this place feels like home. The staff is so welcoming and all of the regulars make you feel like you’ve been there a million times with them. I’ve yet to order a dish that doesn’t get me raving about how great Faradays food is… My pub of choice ANYDAY!

The food here is excellent and nearly everyone in there was a regular for good reason. I had been wanting to stop by here for a while but never got around to it for some reason. But based on my experience there I believe this is the best dining pub in the area.
It was a dead Monday night and were one of 2 tables in the small indoor seating area. They have a special from Monday — Thursday 20.95 for 4 course meal so we did that. The soup of the day was split pea soup and it was the best I have ever had. Often times people make it with the consistency of Gerber baby food but this was of good consistency, had great flavor and was peppery. Fantastic. The appetizers were good but the stuffed mushrooms were in a butter sauce which I am not really a fan of. The entrees we ordered the chipolte crusted port tenderloin and the steak tips. Both excellent. They had about 10 beers on tap but 5 of them were local Long Island beers which is always good.
Perhaps it may not be as good if busy but it is clear this is a local favorite with long time patrons coming in as I ate whom were known by name. Someone back there knows how to cook too! Highly recommended.

Had a reservation. Waited almost an hour to sit down. Did get one round of drinks on them. Food was ok. I have had better experiences here but thins time it was not great.

Cute town pub that offers sandwiches, burgers and chicken platters. Fresh salad dressing, cold drinks and greeted with a smile. Their soups are also good here. Afternoons are peaceful and they have tv to view Games that are on We had Turkey burger which was juicy and tender served with cole slaw and pickles, bacon cheddar burger and the bacon was crisp and freshly made we Anson had a cheeseburger that came c with Cole slaw, pickle and potatoes. All served quickly cooked to our liking and a must try neighborhood gem

I actually Love Faradays. Their food is actually really good. I like the wings, and on MONDAYS they offer a 5 dollar burger and 4 dollar pints! How can you not want to go. They charge alittle extra for any extra topping but WOW.
FOOD:
stuffed mushrooms– stuffed with clams and in a wine sauce, very tasty
wings– I prefer the hot wings, but all the sauces are good.
Burgers– I have had the burgers with the onions and pepper jack cheese– AMAZING, I would try any of the burgers on the menu
stuffed clams– Very tasty, they are a bit bready but I prefer them that way
Nachos– Get the nachos, it is WORTH every penny– if you go during happy hour you can snag them up for only 5 DOLLARS! WOW!
Go over and get some good food. Sit at the bar and chat with LIZ. She is awesome!

sweet little cozy pub. they do a great marinated steak special on sundays and mondays. their autumn bisque is so delicious, i wish they served it year round.

Very good little pub in the heart of Smithtown, with a cozy bar and serving great food. Having been left to my own devices for dinner, and not in the mood to cook, I did a little Googling and Faraday’s seemed like a good call from the online menu.
I popped over and hit the cozy bar area which is just the way I like them — on the small side, dark but full of bar «fixins» with a few small TV’s to keep you up to date on whatever sport you might watch.
The bartender was great– she was right there with a smile and chit chat — got me set up with a drink and menu and I was off and running.
The menu was pretty extensive and I initially had a hard time deciding but found a steak special and settled in with my glass of wine while waiting for the food. Definitely worth the wait as the food arrived perfectly cooked, the salad prior was crisp and tasty and the sides that came with the steak were not the same olé, same olé that you get everywhere else; potato croquettes and a very good veggie mix.
There is a dining room beyond the bar area that was doing a decent business (as was the bar) and after eating there, I can understand why.
Definitely worth hitting if in the area.
Parking on the street or across busy Route 25 in lots on the other side of the road.
