Freckled and Blue cater a birthday party in my home. Daniel, the chef, knocked it out of the park. James, our bartender was awesome. And, Juliana brought it all together. The display was fantastic. The foodies at the party couldn’t say enough great things.

Steak sandwich is amazing and my wife always gets the burger. Pimento is to die for. Not for dieters, but a great cheat meal.

GREAT food truck! You can tell how popular a food truck is when everyone is standing in line for this one! SOGOOD. I had the Beer Can Chicken BBQ Sliders which were off the chain!!! Slaw was nice and crunchy, BBQ sauce was tangy, chicken was moist and flavorful! I would give them 5 stars but my one complaint was the bread it came on was cold. Like it was served from the fridge. Still tasty but I need it a tad warmer! BUTDONOTMISSOUT!!!

My family loves this place. Everyone is always friendly as soon as we walk in the door. My husband is picky about his Bbq and he absolutely loves the ribs. Gotta get there early on Fridays because the ribs are only available on Friday and they can sell out quick. Did I mention that they sauce is great also. I tried the burger with their famous Pimento Cheese today… Im in love! Thanks Freckled and Blue for bringing Amazing food to Smyrna. Had a chance to meet Tyler the Owner today and he was super nice. We have definitely found our go to spot.

Comfort food menu executed with gourmet flair. Laid back atmosphere at their restaurant with excellent food. Not your typical lunch place. Definitely worth a visit

Two Words: Steak Sandwich If you live in the state of Georgia, and yet to try the steak sandwich here, than you should probably just move out of Georgia. Yummy, Tender, Succulent, Goodness!!!(LOL) Arrived at Freckled & Blue all by myself on a Friday evening right before the lunch crowd started pouring in, there were only 2 other people dining in, and a few take out orders, seems like they were ordering ribs. I was greeted right away as I approached the cashier’s counter to place my order. I already knew what I wanted, so I order the steak sandwich and also paid $ 3.50 extra to add fries and a beverage(lemonade). The food came out rather fast, but it was hot and good, fries fresh out of the grease and steak cooked to perfection(hefty portion of steak might I add, its really worth the price). The restaurant décor is cheerful & fun, very clean. Cozy little joint. I plan to try the devil eggs the next time I’m there. If you haven’t checked them out, you should probably get out that way soon. Good Eats!

I gave this restaurant a mediocre review. Although as I write this, I’m wondering if I’m being too harsh. I ordered the infamous catfish tacos with a side of macaroni. First, the macaroni is not was I am accustomed to growing up in the south. It’s a bit watery and bland. Secondly, the catfish tacos were just ok. They weren’t bad, but I didn’t get a wow factor. That could definitely be to the fact that I eat fish tacos ALLTHETIME!!! Plus, I am biased towards Taquiera Del Sol off Howell Mill. This restaurant may not be going for a wow factor. They might be fine with making just simple food. For me though, I’m looking for something that’s going to make me tell my friends to definitely try a place. This was just not one of those places. I will say though, I will go back to try something else. I may just really peculiar about my fish tacos :-)

Stopped by the Freckled & Blue Food Truck in Smyrna and bought Hard Boiled Eggs with Pimento Cheese(3 egg halves for $ 4.00) What a disappointment … The eggs were small and rubbery like they had been boiled too long and the egg mixture was really bland. There was only ½ teaspoon of pimento cheese on top of each egg(yes, I measured it) which was not enough to even taste. I ate 1 egg and threw the other 2 away. ** To be a responsible Unilocaler(since this review is only about their famous eggs) I will try something else in the future and let you know!

Freckled and Blue is a Southern, casual restaurant in Smyrna. I don’t know how long they’ve been there, but it seems new. First thing I noticed was that they seem to love their pimento cheese. They seem to put pimento cheese on everything. They also have different versions of their pimento cheese: regular, pepperjack, Sweet Onion-Chipotle, and something else. You can even buy some of it. I tried their Southern Steak Sandwich. It came with H&F bun, which all of their sandwiches do. It wasn’t a bad sandwich. The meat was a little tough, but I liked the flavor. The pimento cheese was good too. I also tried their fries. I liked their fries. I liked the seasoning they put on it, even though it’s probably just salt and pepper. They have friendly service. They’re currently, as of April 17, 2105, on Scoutmob. So you can get a decent lunch for a cheap price.

I never made it to the truck, but saw the tiny place in the side of the road and made a point to stop by for lunch one day. I didn’t know what I was getting into, just that it had a cool name and a truck! I was quite pleased though. I don’t even remember what I wound up getting — I think some chicken something — I remember it was delicious and they were able to work around my gluten allergy no problem. I regret that I didn’t get any pimento cheese… I was raised in the south but always thought I didn’t like it… I recently tried it and can’t get enough! Time for a road trip???

Yum. The three bean salad with corn has a great taste. Pictured is the bbq chicken sliders and the pimento burger — I liked the sliders better than the burger — the chicken had a lot of smoke flavor and was really good.

Their store is in a strip mall area next to BB&T bank off of South Cobb. I had the steak sandwich with Mac & Cheese, it was so good. Steak, onions, peppers and cheese were grilled to perfection. We shared the three fried green tomatoes. Because we spent more than $ 15 we were able to take home a container of the jalapeño bacon pimento cheese. They have a card where you buy 10 entrees get one free. Service was great and they had nice music playing. We will be back for sure!

Yet another whole in the walk, good eatery. I will definitely be coming back. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was great. My wife loves the classic hamburger.

Freckled and delicious. Whether you have had the opportunity to stop by their brick and mortar location, or you have seen their food truck driving around Smyrna, Freckled and Blue is doing some pretty cool things around comfort food. If you have lived in Atlanta over the past few years, then you have experienced the city start to embrace food trucks. Freckled and Blue is certainly in the top of that list and here are a few reasons why. 1. Fried green tomatoes. This is a very traditional southern dish but what makes it better is the goat cheese topping that really makes it pop. 2. Pork, grits, and coleslaw. Don’t think these 3 things go together? Let Freckled and Blue prove you wrong. 3. Holman and Finch buns. Atlanta natives are familiar with what I’m talking about. This bakery and restaurant in the city makes bar none the best hamburger buns you have ever tasted and you can find them being used on almost all of their sandwiches.

This place is legit! I was looking to try something new in the Smyrna area… I just love it when Unilocal meets Scoutmob! It’s like a match made in heaven. Good reviews: check. 50% off with Scoutmob: check. I visited FAB shortly after they opened on a random Thursday. Luckily for me, I was the only one in there. It was freezing inside but that didn’t stop me from wanting to try out the deviled eggs and catfish tacos. I had high hopes for the deviled eggs and they weren’t bad at all… I just realized that I like mine more traditional than all dolled up. The order of 5 came in 4 different flavors. The feta and artichoke didn’t really do anything for me, my favorite was the sweet pickle relish(I’m assuming this is because it was pretty close to the traditional flavor one would expect from a deviled egg). There were 2 types of pimento cheese eggs and while the pimento cheese was very good, I didn’t really like it on the egg. Odd… I know! Now the catfish tacos… OHMAN! So very crunchy and yummy. I really couldn’t get enough. And they lightly fry the flour tortillas! I love the corn and carrot salsa that the put on top. Just beware… I came across a couple of bones… but fish has bones! I’ll definitely be stopping by this place for more tacos when I’m on the area!

«With every meal purchased, Freckled & Blue feeds an Atlantan in need.» You don’t see that kind of generosity from an Atlanta food truck or restaurant everyday. That alone should be enough incentive to support Freckled & Blue, a Smyrna-based food truck that serves modern Southern cuisine. I encountered these guys at the Alpharetta Food Truck Alley. Freckled & Blue’s food truck is painted white with a blue and orange zig-zag design. The truck is large, new, modern, and clean. When I walked up to this truck, it had already sold out of 3 of its 7 items. I believe the menu changes often. Here’s what the truck was serving when I went: Southern Steak Sandwich($ 11.00) Beer Can Chicken BBQ Sliders($ 7.50) Catfish Tacos($ 7.50) — sold out Kid’s Meal($ 5.00) — hot dog and fries White Bean Salad($ 6.00) — sold out Southern Seasoned Fries($ 3.50) Deviled Eggs($ 4.00) — sold out Some of the menu items have some interesting and unique ingredients, such as the steak sandwich which comes with jalapeño-bacon pimento cheese. The white bean salad is vegetarian and gluten-free. I tried the chicken BBQ sliders and the Southern seasoned fries. The chicken BBQ sliders consist of hand-pulled chicken with a house-made BBQ sauce. The BBQ is topped with smoked Gouda cheese and coarse, hand-cut slaw. At $ 7.50, we got two generously portioned sliders. I think it’s a reasonable value. There was plenty of chicken and slaw, so the sliders turned out to be hearty and filling. They tasted good too. Fresh. Large portion size for the fries as well. If you order fries, plan on splitting them. It’s a big serving. The fries were seasoned nicely and were A-OK. Nothing extraordinary, but they fit the bill as a satisfactory side item. They come with ketchup on the side. Good service. I’d come back. Freckled & Blue(a.k.a. «f.a.b») has a permanent«kitchen» location on South Cobb Dr. in Smyrna. Check their Facebook page or Twitter feed to see when the kitchen is open or when and where the truck will be next.

This new bricks and mortar extension of the well known Freckled & Blue foods truck is located in an unassuming storefront near the intersection of South Cobb Dr and East-West Connector/Cumberland Blvd. The interior is simple and the menu is limited, intentionally so that they can provide you with excellent items, ie: they only sell their«specialties». They are known for pimento cheese, which scared this northerner at first, but it is great! They have a slamming steak sandwich, great burger and most importantly, DEVILEDEGGS. They aren’t your grandma’s deviled eggs, even though hers were yummy, they are modern, with offerings like«jalapeño-bacon» and«pepperjack-poblano». This is a great place for a quick lunch and they cater large and small events. Give them a shot and let Mr know what you think. Enjoy!

Make sure you check the hours of operation before heading out to dine here. They only run the restaurant Thursday-Sunday. We found this place through Scout Mob. We liked everything that we ate. The deviled eggs, the beer pulled pork, and the steak sandwich with fries. The portions are huge and there is plenty to share. The place is small but super cute. The owners are a cute couple who started with a food truck that they continue to operate around town. I love supporting folks that treat customers well and believe in serving great food. Stop in soon. Support a small business today!!!
