My family and I stopped at Sheridan’s on the way to The Painted Stave. Friendly service, good food and a decent selection of beer. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was meaty, tender and lightly breaded and fried. Pubs often over-bread fish. This was definitely not the case at Sheridan’s. The fries were nothing special but was barely noticed since there was such a large portion of fish to finish. The family liked their food choices. We all agreed that we would visit Sheridan’s again if we were in the area.

I love the Jameson sauce. Whatever you order it is a very large portion and very reasonably priced. The staff is very nice and kept drinks full. The food was served hot and was awesome. The only weird thing is their no backward hats rule. It is not a deal breaker, just an interesting rule and they should probably post a sign on the door. I love this place and is well worth turning a hat around. They also have a great selection of beers too. Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

I am not sure why all the rave reviews. The only good thing about my meal was the service. The restaurant was clean and the server was very nice. That said, the food was terrible. We started with the chicken tenders and the onion rings. The chicken tenders were straight out of a box from the freezer. The onion rings were greasy and bland. The chicken wings looked to be straight out of the freezer as well. The Reuben sandwich was ok, but very greasy. I was looking forward to the Shepherds Pie, but I was disappointed. The potatoes on top were good, but the filling was not. The meat was in a tomato based sauce which was overly sweet. It tasted like canned ravioli sauce for kids. I ended up sending it back. Overall, very disappointed. So, nice people, terrible food. We won’t be back.

A great, local Irish pub. The shepherds pie is really good. If I want something lighter I love the Caesar salad with salmon. Plenty to choose from and food for the kids too. Love the upstairs patio in the summer. Bartenders and staff are always super friendly.

Every time I’ve gone, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is excellent. A favorite lunch stop, if you go early, it’s nearly empty :)

Delicious Irish Pub! Went there with a friend, excellent service and good food, including dishes we had not seen at other Irish restaurants. Got the cabbage roll appetizer — tasty fresh cabbage rolled around corned beef, served on half a baked potato, topped with Dijon sauce. I got the Boxty beef pancake dish with salad as entrée and my friend got the shepherd pie. The pie was good as expected, baked with right amount of crispness in the mashed potatoes. The Boxty was something I had never had before, a bit like a stew topped with a pancake, but not sweet, very good flavor, salad also fresh. Got the rice pudding desert — you could have it chilled or warmed, we had it warmed, also good flavor and had some pieces of strawberry in it. Overall excellent. Good presentation for simple tea too. Would go back! Had a dining area, and bar for watching sports, many couples eating together at the bar too, watching some football, but not so loud to bother us at a table and not interested in sports. Lots of cool looking metal mugs, if you get tap, that could be fun.

One of my favorite local places to frequent. Always happy with the food. Be sure to get the Jameson sauce on your mashed potatoes, it’s delicious. The boxty’s are a great pick. The bacon wrapped asparagus is probably my favorite thing they have. Drinks can be hit or miss sometimes, maybe depending on who’s bartending that night.

Better than average bar food! Really liked the green salad with fruit. There’s an upstairs outside area for summer. Lots of fans. Pleasant seating outside.

My husband and I took my father here for dinner recently. We were in the mood for something different, and decided on Sheridan’s over the other Irish pub on this highway because of better reviews. We are so glad we did! Our server was one of the owners, Shirley, and her hospitality certainly set the tone. The three of us shared the cabbage rolls and bacon-wrapped asparagus for starters. You could hear the pride in her voice when she described how her son created the«spicy dipping sauce» for the delicious asparagus appetizer(now a well kept secret!).the cabbage rolls were fantastic as well! For our main course, I ordered the Roast Beef Boxty, and my husband and father both had the Smoky Mountain Boxty… both kinds were incredibly delicious, but I believe the Jameson sauce on my roast beef won out! We will certainly be back. I can hear another Roast Beef Boxty calling my name. next time with a Guinness. Thanks for a great meal and experience, Shirley!

Good food, good service, friendly staff. Arrived around 7:30 on a Friday night, so the place was starting to get a crowd. Had a group of four people and they sat us right away. We requested to sit outside at the upper patio which was nice on a nice night. They had a large group up there, but the waitress still attended to our table in a reasonable amount of time. She told us the specials, I had asked about getting fried pickles(which is a bar item and severed after 9 pm), but the waitress didn’t know, and she went and asked and then let me know that they didn’t serve them right then(I appreciated her asking). Food was good(shepherds pie, Cajun shrimp boxty, fish n chips, and Santa Fe chicken). Our drinks were attended to, and the manager stopped by and asked about our food and service. Overall I think it was a nice experience. I would go again.

The food is great every time I have been here. A true Irish Pub. The nachos are awesome. They have these lunch things called boxies that are great. The cornbeef and cabbage is very good the sauce they put on it is amazing. The prices are a bit high but worth every penny. The porch upstairs is a great place to have a few drinks with friends.

I stopped in here on a Thursday night with my girlfriend, on our way home from the Delaware beaches. It was clean, the staff was awesome, and the food was delicious. I’ve been driving through Smyrna for the past 15 years on my way home from the beach, and just realized it’s a great town to stop to grab a bite. Between The Odd Fellows(also awesome) and Sheridan’s… this is the perfect town to stop if you’re hungry. It wasn’t too crowded when we got to Sheridan’s, but by the time we left(around 6:30pm) every table was filled. I had a «boxty.» I had never heard of one before, but it was outstanding. The serving was huge. My girlfriend had a roast beef sandwich– loved it. Great beer selection, and dessert was awesome too. I’ll definitely be back again.

The food came out quickly and was very tasty. My 3yr old son requested something that was not on the menu and they made it special for him!

Recommended by our class instructor and it was great. Good food and large beer selection. Little chilly by the door thought. Shepard pie was great. Worth the trip.

I came here for a drink after work one day. They have an excellent draft selection and the waiter was very attentive. My only complaint was that the whole ambiance wasn’t very«pub» feeling. I sort of felt as though it may be kind of snobby. I was going to order food, but it was way too pricey. It might be nice for a date night dinner, but I wouldn’t go there for happy hour again.

Excellent food, and by a long shot, the best place to eat in Smyrna. Nice environment and friendly staff. This place is very well received in Smyrna and has tons of charm(environment, staff, beer and food) One wish, they’d start serving smaller sizes for smaller people. As it stands now they don’t offer ½ sizes on any of the food.

Average food at best. Far from the best Irish food ever. Service is hit or miss with misses being more common
