My first appointment with this doctor. I scheduled the appt at least 6 weeks ago. I fasted overnight so that I could have Labs drawn. I arrived 15 min early. A «nurse» came out at my appt time and indicated that they were running just a bit behind. When I asked her to quantify she was unable to do so. As of this moment I have been waiting for an hour. I’m leaving now and I won’t return. My time is valuable.

Not the same, so sad to experience the lack of service — The correct address is on Concord Road in Smyrna, Ga I have seen Dr. Coombs for my annual phyiscal and basic medical needs since 2003. I made an appt. for my annual this year, early Dec. to be sure to get in before the end of the year. When I arrived for my appt. after fasting so I could get my lab work done I was told there was no such appointment for me. I asked for next available and told there was none. The doctor and the office staff were EXTREMELY unhelpful, not offering a cancellation or atleast to get my lab work completed. When I asked for my medical records, I was told I could not have them. I then faxed the medical records dept., wrote Dr. Coombs directly, and when I went to another doctor for my annual physical in late December I was told my medical records had not been transfered. Again the office staff was of no assistance and offered no assistance. I believe Dr. Coombs could improve this disappointing change in service. I will no longer recommend her services. It is so very sad for me as I thought she was a good diagnostician and now I have to establish a new relationship with another internist.

Firstly, Unilocal — the address is wrong here. Dr. Coombs is located in Smyrna, not in Atlanta. It’s been a few years since I’ve had a Primary Care doctor on my roster. Save the twice-a-year cold, I’m generally a pretty healthy girl. However, it had been a while since I’d had a full checkup so I decided to take advantage of my insurance benefits and get a physical/wellness exam. I had trouble finding the building because it’s located a little further back from Concord Rd than I anticipated and there is no signage near the road to indicate what’s in this very nondescript building. Maybe I’m a doctor’s office snob, but I was very turned off with the hospital-like atmosphere. The staff was a mixed bag, some definitely more friendly than others. Dr. Coombs seemed like maybe she was nice? Very straightforward, but her manner seemed very cool(as in cold). But then again, it was hard to judge as I only saw her for a grand total of probably about 7(?) minutes. I didn’t feel comfortable enough with her to ask much in the way of questions. My biggest turnoff to this Dr’s office though was the phone call I received with the results of my bloodwork. Some random person from Dr. Coombs’s office called me(with no explanation as to who she was) to give me the results and the doctor’s recommendation. However, being someone who’s been pretty healthy for my 28 years on Earth, I had no idea what the findings or the doctor’s recommendations actually meant for me and my lifestyle. The person from the doctor’s office was dismissive and borderline rude when I asked her multiple times«what does that mean?». I finally gave up and went online to research it myself. Even though this happened months ago, the question still lingers in my mind: why didn’t the doctor call me herself if she had a recommendation — did she think I wasn’t going to have questions? Because this person who called me with the results and recommendation was clearly not competent enough to answer my relatively simple questions to my satisfaction. When it’s time for me to see a doctor again in 2010, I definitely won’t be making a return trip to this office.
