I visited here to see a friend. I was treated very nicely by all the employees, I had several interactions with the employees, and all my interactions were very good(even though they’ve never even seen me before). My suggestion, which isn’t a major thing, just an annoyance really — is that there isn’t a very clear message in their signs/buildings for people to know where they should go and enter. I entered wrong doors at least twice. I wasn’t scolded for being in the wrong place, I was very nicely informed… but I think that better sign system(wayfinding) would save a lot of frustration and time for everyone. Like, visitors follow the green signs, employees/medical people follow purple signs, and deliveries to the yellow signed areas, or something like that. I also think the nurse’s station should look a little more organized and tidy. Clearly, a lot of work is going on, but again the notebooks and papers should be contained better in a neat way, even labeled the same way or using color coding. The medications log of patients was right in front of me there at the nurse’s station and I could have been able to look in it for about 3 minutes before I would be questioned and tackled. COULD … but I didn’t try that. lol The facility isn’t at full capacity, but the stuff they need organized needs a better system. I think the staff is doing the best with what they have, but a professional organizer could really help the work flow and I think would pay for itself in this situation. Each door has a keyless/code entry system. Of course it is never good to have to be in a rehabilitation center, but this one to me looks pretty good if one needs to use one. Rather than be seen as criticisms, I mean my suggestions to be some easily implemented things that could make working at Scepter much less stressful for employees, which will equal higher efficiency, happier employees, and better care for the patients.
