The water looks yucky. Lots of insects around the lake. Be aware of beeswax. Ok lake but I won’t swim or camp there

This is our favorite campground that is within an hour of Seattle. We come back here multiple times a year. It’s a relatively quiet campground with good size sites. We enjoy the swimming beach and playground within walking distance from the campground.

If you ever thought that you were in the middle of nowhere… then you have officially reached Flowing Lake Park. While on a mission to discover neighboring parks and familiarize myself with the area I found this by accident. GPS had it some place else. It has a little bit of everything… hiking, walking on the beach, play area for the kids, camping, picnic area, amphitheater, showers and most importantly flushing toilets. This is a place that my guess the locals don’t want the general public to find out about, so shhhhh it’ll be our secret. There is a fee area(honor system from the looks of it) general rate. I was really impressed and will definitely return again. ***a little history(just for you) from the website Park History Snohomish County purchased the property in 1968 from the Leckie family, who had operated Leckie’s Resort on the site between 1925 and 1960. The original resort offered a a beautiful shallow water swimming beach, a dock, a small store, rental boats and canoes, tent camping, and a few very rustic cabins. Development of the county park began in the early 1970’s.

I love this park… they have 4 tiny cabins that you can rent and some great camp sites… fishing, boat dock and a cute playground… if we ever get summer, my family is planning on going there for my very first camping trip. The cost of renting a cabin is 40 dollars a night… perfect for a family! It is off the beaten path but well worth the drive.
