Less a review of the facility and more for the Arlington Fly-​in. The fly-​in is an annual event for private/​light civilian aircraft. Hundreds of planes from the western US and Canada arrive starting Thursday. The event is complete with an air show, demonstrations and a hot air balloon flight. It’s always fun watching the super STOLs taking off and landing in about 20′. There are dozens of static displays including warbirds and a historical military vehicle park — including tank demos and a vehicle parade.
If you go for an air show, bring seats, shade and plenty of water. The concessions are very pricey and fresh water is scarce.
