Man — sorry but … Changing my previous 5 star review from months ago to this two star. Been eating here for a long time(20 times ?) and have brought friends here with me sometimes too. Today, during their slow time of 1o’clock to 4, I parked my work truck in the same exact place as I have many times. But today, they started having a problem with it. They asked me to move it. So I did, right over to the Buzz Inn parking lot at the airport. Hopefully my truck will not bother this place if it’s there. WTHeck?

I feel bad saying it, but the food isn’t very good. Very greasy and cheap ingredients. Not cooked with skill. I had carne azada with bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp were tiny and served on top of a bed of spicy creamy greasy fried peppers and onions. I could feel my stomach turning as I tried to eat it. The carne was OK. It’s pricey too. The service is very very friendly, so I feel really bad saying these things. The clientele also leaves a lot to be desired. A fight broke out the last time we were there and we all had to leave. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because of how friendly the staff is. Sorry!

Hi friends, I am a Clearview local and I love supporting our local businesses. My family and I were very happy to see a new restaurant open in town and after working the bugs out, Ixtapa became an at least once a week stop for us. In the last few months we’ve noticed a decline in patrons and especially a decline in food quality. The staff is friendly, but I believe the owner/manager Danny is unqualified. It seems to us that as the service and quality has lowered, the quality has lowered substantially. A rocket scientist need not be present to know that when sales are down, you do not continue to cut food quality, but that is what is happening here. I would love to see one of our local restaurants succeed, but I can assure you I will not be back until I hear that the quality has improved. And by the way, how do you fuck up commercial Mexican food? Seriously, how do you do that? By lowering your food standard…

Found this place randomly off of highway 2 after a day outdoors. Looking like a dive from outside drenched in hot peach, the small Mexican restaurant was a nice surprise inside. Signs of age and wear are apparant, but the booth we were in was comfortable and clean. We were seated right away and our waiter buzzed around us constantly throughout service. They have a huge menu. My boyfriend got a roasted pork dish — don’t recall the name — that he loved. He had to pick out three big bones. I got a Carne asada burrito that filled me ¾ through. The man reported the salsa was really good and hot. It was nice that they have some juices to choose from besides just soda for nonalcoholic drinks. We laughed when the waiter grabbed the check as it sat in front of my boyfriend while we were talking. A big TV blared in the corner of the dining room. They have a bar that has more television. Food: 3.5 Service: 3 Ambiance: 2.5 Parking: 3

Love it ! Great great food, with awesome salsa & not bad service. If I could afford to, I go every couple days. Well worth every penny you spend there. We have never had a dish we didn’t like. If you like seafood, try the crab enchiladas. Yummy yummy yummy

Delicious chicken taco salad, which really is the only item I order at a Mexican restaurant. My husband is always satisfied with his meals as well. The food is consistent and ingredients seem fresh. Everyone is extremely polite and attentive when we dine in, and we’ve order takeout multiple times. Service is fast and friendly. We’ve tried other Mexican restaurants in Snohomish but this has been our favorite!

Been here well over an hour before they took our order, hour and half for drinks and my wife is still waiting for hers. Not sure how much longer we will have to wait for the food. People ate starting to get a little mad waiting.

Pork Osso Bucco at Snohomish Ixtapa is excellent! I’ve been to this Ixtapa twice before today(and a couple others outside of the Snohomish location), and it was always decent. Typically I order something standard from the menu but todays special blew my socks off(and I was wearing flip flops). I ordered the Pork Osso Bucco and it was simply amazing. Tasty sauce, the tender meat fell off the bone and mixing the pork with the guacamole and lettuce in a soft taco was very very good. My wife had something else, and she said this was the best Mexican food she’s ever had. My 4 year old ate every chicken nugget(10 maybe) and my 6 year barely ate her taco, but ate off of everyone elses amazing plate. GOODGOODGOOD! A

Love the food and the service here. My favorite dishes are the chicken mole, nachos, and the quesadilla. Service is quick and friendly. It’s great to come and have them ask how you and your family have been. You must also try the black berry margarita! I wish they would move into the old Silver King location; that way the food, service & view would all be great.

We went to Ixtapa in Snohomish last night and we all loved it. As soon as you sit down they give you great complimentary chips with refried beans and salsa. I know all Mexican restaurants give free chips and salsa but not with refried beans too. We ordered margaritas and they were excellent. I ordered chorizo and eggs for my dinner and loved it. I’d give it a 9 out of 10. The other meals we ordered were chicken fajitas and a veggie burrito. We all agreed everything was really good. They deserved five stars!

This is my fiancé and I’s go to restaurant. They are always quick to offer more chips/drinks/salsa and everything is so yummy! Service is great as well as the food. Never have I left here unhappy… or hungry!

We eat here at least two times a month. The owner, Carlos, is very involved in service and the food. I would always recommend the camarones diabla, great spicy red sauce… super yum! Also the pico de gallo and salsa are great… chips good. The two main things I appreciate are the quick, attentive service and the involvement of Carlos or the other manager with all of their guests. It does make a difference especially when something is off a bit which will happen.

.. Me and my family I have been to Ixtapa many many times. Is always been very good and the service has been good. This last weekend I ordered take out for the whole family. I was so disappointed with the meal. I will probably return to dine in but will never order takeout again here

Kids menu a little too spendy. Food was very consistent and service was fast. We had the enchilada&taco combo. We would come again with a coupon if we could find some.

I used to come here a ton back in the day when I lived in Lake Stevens, it’s probably been 5 years or so since I stopped in. By chance I ended up w an Ixtapa gift certificate so the man and I decided to stop in. I still like the chips n salsa, super tasty with the right amount of spice. Good service. But the entrees I found to be mediocre. The rice was dry, the steak in my fajitas was dried out and very tough and sopping in grease… Which I was told was butter not grease, but whatever, it’s seemed overboard. Overall I just wasn’t that into it :-/

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, I never do of Mexican food in Washington. They delivered on what I expected and a little more, which was nice. Plenty of vegetarian options, called out carefully on the menu so that you know where to look without a lot of hunting. I was a little sad that they only offer regular«red» salsa — I have food allergies and always look forward to places having tomatillo salsa instead. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are very, very kid friendly. I wish they used reusable drink cups for kids but I’m happy that they had kids cups with lids. The kids menu is pretty standard — be careful if you have a kid with food allergies, though, there aren’t a lot of options here for substituting non-gluten items(like corn tortillas) for the flour tortillas. Service wasn’t the best but the guy seemed to be serving the entire place and handling walk-in and phone-in to-go orders all by himself. A solid 3-stars.
