Snohomish Golf Course

Golf course is okay. Fred the «Director of Golf» is a jerk. Fred is unwelcoming, rude and if you come for twilight, Fred will ALWAYS encourage you to play 9 rather than 18. You see Fred’s personal agenda takes priority over everyone else’s, even the customers. It appears Fred doesn’t care about providing even a decent level of customer service, he only seems to care about himself and making sure everyone is off the course and gone before dusk so he can go home (even though their website says they’re open «dawn to dusk»). Last week Fred all but forced a friend and me to pay for 9 even though we intended to play 18. Sure enough we finish 9 with time enough to finish 18, so we drive onto #10 tee. We were met by a very disgruntled Fred telling us we only paid for nine and shouldn’t continue on. I apologized and assured him we’d pay the remainder once we finished 18. Fred gave us a «stare down» like we just stole his juice box or something. Meanwhile my friend and I had been talking about how rude this guy was the entire round, and after the experience on #10, needless to say we were pretty shocked by his attitude and general mistreatment of customers. Once we finished (at dusk) we go inside to pay and there are some kids hanging around and what I assume are members of staff as well. Fred makes a very loud comment to everyone there that «we can all go home now that these guys are finished». He was so rude and made the whole experience awkward and uncomfortable when we were just trying to leave the place. Well apparently I didn’t learn my lesson, because I decided to go back yesterday and play twilight again. Bad choice because Fred was working. In typical Fred fashion, he encourages us to play 9 rather than 18 (even though its 3pm). We say no, 18 please. Fred then gives us a used cart that sputters out on every hole, and barely got us through 9 holes (we eventually had to switch out carts). Turns out we finish 9 in around an hour and half. As we are headed to #10 we’re met by Fred. Fred tells us he just sent an entire mens group (5 foursomes) off #10, so we will be waiting on the next hole for quite sometime. I let Fred know I was pretty upset about this, but unfortunately Fred responded by saying «Aren’t you the same group that came in late last week?». I was a bit taken back and said, «Yes, so does this mean you are you trying to get back at us?». He said «no, but we had to wait for you last week, now you’re going to have to wait for these guys». I could not believe he was trying to «pay me back» for coming in at dusk the week before! We ended up waiting 35 minutes to tee off on #10. I let Fred know that is unacceptable and pretty ridiculous considering the 1^st tee was wide open for these guys. Fred’s response was «they wanted to start on the back 9 so I let them». Well that back nine took us 3 hours and 15 minutes. Thanks Fred. I have played golf for many years and have never experienced a pro shop person like him, let alone a «Director of Golf»! It is interesting that others on Unilocal have commented on the unfriendly atmosphere and bad customer service, maybe something the owner should consider… Fred you are not a gentleman and are the only disappointing part about Snohomish golf course. If you were not employed there, it would make mine and many other peoples experience much much better.

5 star layout and setting. It seems maintenance and service will forever be a issue here until they get some new blood behind the counter.

Great layout. Fairways will get very dry in the summer because they don’t water them. Be warned… They don’t accommodate singles and are not friendly. But all that said its a beautiful place.

Snohomish is in my top five public golf courses in greater Seattle area. It is a test of golf from white tees playing over 6300 yards. Good layout and walkable.

Worth the drive from Seattle. I paid $ 24 dollars for an early morning 18 hole. Un crowded course with friendly employees, try finding that around the 206. Course was in fairly good shape and it required a variety of clubs throughout my round (not just driver/​iron/​wedge. Got 18 holes in 3.5 hours. No houses, only trees.

This course is simply beautiful, I always love visiting! The staff is very friendly and really cares about your experience. The Café is a gem — awesome homemade food and hand cut fries.

Fun course that was in great shape. The greens were really fast and challenging. Do not pay attention to the others giving bad reviews we had a blast!!!

Great course and good value.
This is a tough golf course, but very beautiful and fun. Wish it was closer to Seattle, I would play this course a lot more. It is challenging and exposes any weakness in your game. Greens were a little inconsistent but that would be may only gripe.

I had pretty low expectations of Snohomish GC, in fact I really didn’t want to come when the fiancé mentioned it, I wanted to go to Echo Falls. Luckily he twisted my arm and talked me into it.
9 only cost $ 21, 18 is like $ 36… I consider that a bargain considering the course. I found it to be relatively dry, and well maintained. It was beautiful and played nicely. The fairways were narrow, so hopefully you hit a straight ball. We walked it, took about 2 hours, with no wait between holes.
Has a pro shop with some reasonably priced goods inside. I’m looking forward to going back.

Snohomish golf course has been playing fantastic lately. They’ve been doing a lot of work in the last couple years and it’s showing. I’m happy to call Snohomish my home course.

I should have read the recent review on this course before playing… I concur. They made no mention of the horrible condition of the greens. Worst condition I’ve ever played in.
Greens are unplayable they are in such bad shape!
Pro shop, bad bad form. Won’t be back.

This is a nice muni golf course. Wasn’t in as good shape as some of the rota of Seattle munis but it wasn’t as crowded either.
Not too expensive, I think the fees were in the $ 30 range and the course was not a beast but also not a pitch and putt like some of the others you may play.
All in all not a bad spot if you are looking for an inexpensive round.
