Something seriously wrong. How do you mess up waffles and butter? My son told me the butter was bad. I tried it. I can’t even describe it. Not sure if it was rancid or if something got mixed into it. My daughter saw our faces and grabbed it because she just had to try it. It was like a bad comedy. Nothing could get that flavor out of our mouths. It took hours to go away. The waffles tasted strange as well — maybe they used the same butter in making the waffles. The service was fast and friendly.

I ate here 10 years ago and they served chicken cordon blue that was raw. We thought we would try it again. The food was absolutely awful. They managed to undercook my wife’s waffle. The rest of the food was subpar. Stay away!

Wow really!!! Your manager kicked out people today that had a baby to wait in the snow??? Even after their car broke down??? I’m going to forward this story to corporate to make sure this person gets fired!!! So evil!

I had a very positive experience here. The service was really good. The server, he was very nice. They made special accommodations for my dietary food restrictions. We all had breakfast. They made my kids fresh batter for the waffles and pancakes. My daughter loved the banana pancakes, and my other daughter loved her strawberry waffle. I’m doing a ketogenic diet, so I can’t have carbs. So I had six ounces of steak and eggs, and they brought me a salad with it since I couldn’t have pancakes, hash browns, or toast. Overall, I was pleased. I guess I didn’t have the negative experience that others had. Everything we ate was awesome.

I’m surprised at the reviews. I have spent this weekend here at the Summit Inn and have eaten here three times. Connected to the Inn so very convenient. Even so, perfectly good food, fast service, reasonably priced. It’s a pancake house(remember that) and as pancake houses go, it is right there with the best. Very expansive menu. Everyone in my family likes different things and everyone was happy. Breakfast all day is perfect for a ski area. The country fried steak, eggs, and hash browns was yummy after a day of skiing.

Horrible customer service!!! I ordered pancakes and waffles. The pancakes were ok but the waffles had a fishy taste. I mentioned this to the waiter and she offered to not charge me for it. Good right ? When I went to pay at the front, the manager started scolding me and he wasn’t happy that I had eaten part of the waffles. How else would I have known it tasted bad. He got angry and told me not to come back! Seriously, what kind of customer service is that ! I’m definitely never coming back here !!!

Breakfast all day in the snow? yes please! I’ve been here about a few dozen times. Only because they serve breakfast all day and also because of their location. If you come to the pass for any kind of snow activity and want something before you get into your gear and all that, you come here. Or post skiing/snowboarding, even tubing! I love hovering around the fire place next to the snow just as much but this is just comfy. They are usually pack on weekends especially if you come around the ski/lessons time ie 8 – 10 am or around 12 – 1. Service is as good as you’ll get for the diner. Food is decent. I’ve had their pancakes. I’ve also had some eggs, omelets and so on. They are all a ok. I can skip eating here. One thing I remember being really good though is their hot chocolate! I love hot chocolate in the snow! Hmmmm all warm and cozy and sweet. Prices are quite reasonable too. Now this is a pancake house. It is a diner! Not 5 stars dining. But it is also the only one you’ll find around here without driving a few miles. Its right next to the exit, free way and that pass! You can always eat at the summit west but it’s a zoo. Free parking lot outside. It is pretty convenient. Simple spot, very slow service at times, simple décor, friendly people with the coolest views outside! Hooray for ski season!!!

We ordered a burger no cheese for my kid. They brought it with cheese. They changed it but it took more time and she was already very hungry. Not fun. I ordered a vegetarian omelet and It came with ham. The server said it was only on the side but it actually had several chunks inside. I wonder what part of vegetarian they didn’t understand.

Usually love this place but took the kids night tubing and planned to have a late dinner before heading back to town. The hours say 7 – 2 am but this is not the case. Forewarning… maybe the bar is open but the restraint is not

This place is exactly what I have been looking for! A simple pancake house that serves breakfast all day long and who’s food is yummy! Im not saying the food is amazing but honestly when you have a stack of pancakes for 7 $ what are u expecting? It is a simple place with food that i have been to now 3 times in 3 weeks and the food has always tasted fresh and great! and the service is perfect. Our server Lori has been amazing every time we go!

ehhh I didn’t much like it. The service was good but the food not so much. My waffle was very over cooked but came out cold. I asked for turkey bacon and said if they didn’t have it to not bring out any as we don’t eat pork. The plate was dripping in bacon oil from the bacon that was on it and it was all cold. Wouldn’t eat here again.

Ate here a couple time when I got a room at the Inn. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and they serve breakfast all day. It looks like there used to be a bar/saloon next door, but I think it’s been closed for awhile.

Wow. How does a breakfast and pancake place be bad? Environment, prices, and quality of food. We stopped here, sat down, & the menu had a variety of asian food, which i love, but not what we want for a pancake place. We asked for an orange juice, & was brought a small little glass. The variety of pancakes were minimal, and I ordered the crepes with lingonberry butter. Husband ordered an omelet. Well, our waiter was nice, but left in his car mid service. Gone for the day. The food was OK, the crepes were good, but nothing to ‘yum’ about. The lingonberry butter was beyond sour. his omelet looked like a shredded hash brown with some sprinkled cheese on it. The ooey gooey cheese omelets are usually preferred. Anyway, we waited for quite a while for the hostess to help us. The bill was quite high, the juice was $ 3& she said that’s a large. Anyway… Not a good place for chow. Pass.

The breakfast was standard fare, but it was done well. I came off rush hours, so I can’t attest to normal service, but they have a better view than any east coast pancake house.

There was a time, long long ago, The Pancake House was actually a good spot to grab some pre-shooshin carbs in the form of delicious corn meal pancakes… Or even a post ski beer at the bar. Sadly, those days are long gone. The food is sub par, the grease in the fryer definitely needs changing and the draft lines I suspect need a complete overhaul as well. That being said, if you read my other reviews you will see that I have never given a place less than a five star review. If I don’t like a place, I generally won’t review it and I don’t like kicking a place when they’re down. However, The Pancake House achieved my first ever«one star» review not for its dirty keg lines or its gross food– if it was just that I wouldn’t of even taken the time to write this. The Pancake House gets one star for its treatment of its employees. Both my Wife’s and my family were in the restaurant business and they always treated their employees like members of family. This is not the case at the Pancake House. Like a injured coyote backed against a wall the management here has opted to take the low road to stay afloat. The owner has taken to treating the hard working immigrant employees like slave labor and keeps them stuck in a «company store» type situation. I just can’t overlook this when writing a review. I highly recommend skipping the Pancake House and trying some of the other establishments at The Pass.
