What a treasure and a labor of love. Thank you to the Donner Summit Historical Society for preserving the history of our beloved area. By knowing the history we can learn a great deal and improve our future from both a social and environmental standpoint. The Donner Summit is a winter wonderland and summer paradise to be enjoyed by anyone. My favorite aspect of the collection are the old hotel brochures. It is fun to imagine how people took the train up to the mountains from the Bay Area to stay at cozy lodges. My husband bought a great Hwy 40 T-​shirt. Thank you for being there, for all your hard work and thank you too for making café lattes.

He has more knowledge of the summit than anyone else in the area.
He has amassed this collection of artifacts and loves talking about them.
He used to own Donner ski ranch.
He still works up here, plowing snow and doing heavy machinery operations. He will work till he dies, so don’t let him go with out getting some of that knowledge.
