So painfully terrible but I keep going back … I use this company only out of desperation. No one to pick up lunch for a shoot, laid up in bed nursing a newborn and dying of starvation, basically extreme cases in which pizza delivery will not suffice. And after each horrific experience I tell myself never, ever again. Unprofessional, insanely expensive($ 10 charge for non-cash payment + line item after line item of miscellaneous charges). Last week I used them to feed a camera crew and after all the ridiculous fees, I paid $ 22 per brown bag lunch that consisted of a crappy deli sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda. Good concept, poor, poor execution. You are better off dealing with the headache of getting into your car and picking up your own food.

Horrible experience– lunch for a critical meeting was late, order was incomplete and customer service on the phone was nonexistent. Go elsewhere if you can. And not sure why the only positive review(from 2009) pops up first when the reviews from 2010(all negative) are listed here last

I don’t usually write negative reviews but if zero stars were an option, I would give this place zero stars. Actually negative stars would be more appropriate! The president, «Jay»(who seems to be the one answering the phone most of the time) is so incredibly rude that he actually made me cry! I generally like people and will give them the benefit of the doubt — perhaps they were having an off day, etc., but«Jay» was consistently rude. We were just trying to use our gift certificate that we had been given and it was virtually impossible. There record-keeping is horrendous. When we were finally able to use it, we ended up ordering dinner for 3 of us from an Indian restaurant and with the $ 100 gift certificate we still had to pay extra! The various fees are outrageous. I understand that they need to make money but, wow, it’s exorbitant! Mostly though, it is the extreme rudeness of the manager/president, Jay. We will never order from there again and I have told all our friends to not use the service. It was a horrible experience and one that actually made me feel emotionally drained and abused! Ordering food should not make you feel emotionally abused. On top of it all, they were 45 minutes late even though we placed the order with at least 24 hours of notice! I am shocked that these people are still in business.

I seldom write negative reviews. I figure that anyone can have a bad day. But everytime my best friend and I order at her house they are late– every time! I don’t understand why she keeps ordering from these people. Great idea– poor execution. I’m tired of eating cold food! I have given this company multiple chances but they always let me down. Don’t waste your money.

The cost of deliver for my order was about $ 12.00 that was a surprise that isn’t advertised and you don’t find out till the end. I ordered at 11:00am and the driver didn’t leave until 12:45pm. I have to say that a $ 12 delivery fee for something that takes 2 hours is crazy. They should be put out of business!!! DONOTUSETHEM!!! Recommend this review

If zero stars was an option I would select zero. We have tried to use Mobile Waiter twice and both times they called(after we waited 25 minutes) and told us they were too busy to deliver our dinner. When I told him this, he told us to use someone else. When I informed him we would not use the service again he replied«good» and hung up.

Are you kidding me??? How are they still in business? Not only are they habitually 30+ minutes late, the food is cold, but the most offensive part is the«manager». He is incredibly rude and immature and will not be in business for long(hopefully).

I would give zero stars if I could on this one! I’ve used Mobile Waiter for corporate lunch delivery for over 7 years and just had a deal-breaking experience. I will NEVER use them again. When my food hadn’t been delivered 45 minutes after the time i requested its delivery(30 mins into a 1-hr exec. LUNCH meeting), I called to check on the order. The guy told me that the driver hadn’t left the restaurant yet, so I angrily told him to just cancel it. I ran to the corner store and bought 6 sandwiches. When I got back, arms full with sandwiches, they had delivered the food and the $ 75 bill. I called Mobile Waiter to say I was not paying for this order because I canceled it. The *extraordinarily* rude lady(who claimed to be the ‘owner’s wife’) said they would not eat the cost, and that they tried to call me back to say that,(i was getting food!) and HUNGUPONME. I’ve spent thousands of dollars a year with them, and today was my last order. Good work lady! You officially made the top of my ‘rudest people ever’ list. I hope it was worth it to you. Expressly Gourmet, you have a new best friend.

I’ve used these guys maybe 2 times to send lunch to a certain female in the Sorrento Valley area and both times its been a positive experience. Of course they’re a middle man. They have to charge something, otherwise they wouldnt be in business. Youre paying for the service, including the delivery fee. I dont recall paying the crazy fees that Meg R. is describing though, as I wouldnt pay those outrageous prices. Maybe their fees have skyrocketed since I’ve last used them ? In conclusion, both times, what I ordered is what was delivered and the bottom line was that the recipient was happy. Which made me a happy camper.

don’t fall for this crap! I have used them in the past for the UTC area and it just isn’t worth it. They argue that they make life easier by going and picking up your food for you, or doing catering or whatever. It’s a giant pain in the ass. The only thing I ever use the site for is to look at the menu’s for certain like sushi or Thai places that don’t have their own individual web pages/menus. They charge you for delivery, $ 9.99 for the restaurants under the $ 15 min. order, $ 10.00 for the $ 60 min. order restaurants, and $ 15.00 for the $ 100 min. order places. Then, they expect you to tip the person on top of that. seriously??? It only makes sense to use them for huge orders/catering and even then your restaurant choices are pretty limited. They take forever to deliver and half the time they screw up your order worse than restaurants could — because you file an order with them, then *they* call it in to the restaurant. Just a middle man passing along info, and another person to screw it all up. We’ve all played telephone and know how it goes.
