SM-​designbuild was referred to me by a friend that had great success working with Stew and his company on their home remodel. As a single woman I was a bit nervous about renovating my condo as I’d heard so many scary stories about how things can go wrong with contractors, but my experience with SM-​designbuild was great. The design phase was fun and painless; they listened closely to my needs and came up with great ideas I hadn’t even considered. They priced the project early on in the design phase and I was relieved to find that the initial estimate was very close to the final cost. The quality of their work was excellent and I’m happy to report that they finished the job ahead of schedule! You can’t go wrong with SM-​designbuild. I would use them again in a heart beat and would refer them to all my friends.

We’ve been through a few remodels over the last 20 years and when it was time to update again, I was not looking forward to it.
Using SMDesignbuild was a totally different experience. Having the design process flow right into the construction was totally the way to go. Every phase was planned, I knew who would be there every day and they ALWAYS showed up early and worked late.
The crew were the most professional, polite people I have ever worked with. They took extraordinary care to keep the house as clean as possible, vacuumed every night, and kept their prep area (my garage) totally organized.
The quality of the craftsmanship was extraordinary. Custom cabinets, hand sanded and oiled built ins, and they came in with great ideas all through the project. Every workman took deep pride in their work on their part of the project.
I changed my mind about a few things along the way, and the answer was always, «No problem!» And even with changes, the project came in on time and under budget.
My husband and I were both amazed at how our dream of a larger kitchen, open floor plan and quality building was accomplished.
I will only use SMDesignbuild in the future, and we have 2 projects left. This time I can’t wait to get started.
