Phenomenal little place. I admittedly had few expectations walking in since it’s kinda in a strange location but don’t get me wrong if you’re in town this is a definite must try for dinner. I got the squash bisque as an appetizer and then the jambalaya both were amazing. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Cajun food.

Looking for a good place for brunch on the weekend, but was disappointed with the lack of creativity for the specials. CD Café use to have more unique dishes on the menu, but the menu hasn’t changed in some time. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was somewhat dry. Presentation was lacking since my eggs had fallen from the top. Taste was not great. The food is not worth the price. I will not be coming back for sometime. CD Café seems to be becoming just an ordinary lack luster restaurant.

Decided to spend our 5 year anniversary here. Mistake. The savory cheesecake was very good. Everything else was either over seasoned or under seasoned. The table across from us got our salad that we waited almost 45 minutes for, and we had to ask three times for our check, which was wrong. Since we didn’t get our salad they crossed out the salad on our hand written bill and wrote in our dessert which was supposed to be less than the cost of the salad, but they never changed the price they charged us… They effectively held us captive for about a half hour while we waited to be able to pay to leave, so I didn’t even care to bring up the incorrect charges. I just wanted out. We were there for about two hours, the majority of which was waiting for food or attention, and the food was well over priced and underwhelming– as was the service. I’ll spend my money elsewhere the next time. This was a real disappointment. The staff was polite, the experience was just a train wreck, and we were not the only frustrated table.

One of my favorites in this area, and last nights meal reminded me why! I have come to expect great and sometimes unusual favors not typically found in these parts and they delivered again!!! My soup appetizer was excellent, the Arctic shard special was fantastic and the chocolate brownie and nuts ice cream sundae dessert was sinfully delicious. Add to that an attentive waitress = fantastic experience!!! They also have a number of great craft beers!

Good food but this place gets way more hype than it deserves. Every time we go, the service is really curt and/or slow which is crazy given how small the place is.

I love CD Café because the specials are different every time I go there along with the main menu being consistently good. It’s a smaller restaurant, and it’s locally owned. Be there by 5:30pm or you may be waiting awhile, especially during the season or on weekends.

I had to eat something before heading to the Tiki bar opening, so I stopped in to the CD café with my best friend for an early dinner. Service was friendly, our waitress was attentive even though they were busy. I ordered the crab cake dinner with garlic mashed potatoes, and my friend ordered the burger. My crab cake was pretty good, but my potatoes probably could have been a little more creamy. My friend enjoyed the burger. Overall, everything was very tasty, and I wouldn’t mind going back the next time I’m in town. 4 Stars!

The 411: this is a very average restaurant that’s in a really nice area(Solomons Island, MD) with prices that are a bit on the steep side. The menu is creole inspired. I had lunch here. I tried the jambalaya, a margherita pizza, fried catfish and got some scallops on baguette for an appetizer. I’d say overall my favorite dishes were the jambalaya and the scallops. The appetizer scallops on a baguette was pretty tasty. If I had to be critical, I would’ve appreciated more scallop to keep up with the endless tomato on the dish. I enjoyed the cilantro and bacon combo component. It was messy to eat, but my girlfriend and I didn’t care! The jambalaya was pretty good! Big chunks of chorizo and large shrimp were cooked very well. Rice wasn’t special. Woulda liked a bit more okra and a lot more spice, but that’s just me! This was a mild version that had decent flavor. It was a bit expensive. I was less impressed by the catfish dish. The breading was nice on it, but serving size was small for the steepness of the price. I think the fish was just a tiny bit undercooked as well. Instead of flaky texture, it was still a bit gooey in the middle. However, it was fresh and had no fishy odor. It was put on top of a green salad that had a little too much of a ranch based-smoky dressing. There was also a bunch of salty pre-bagged tortilla chips on top. I don’t think I liked that component too much. The margerhita pizza was okay. I liked the soft cheese mixed with the harder parmesan cheese. The crust tasted like it might have been pre made, but I’m not positive. It was good, but wasn’t spectacular. I would’ve hoped for something more spectacular for $ 11. Service was great! My server was very friendly and didn’t think that my girlfriend and I couldn’t finish all the food we ordered… we proved her wrong! Bottom line: food is decently average but steeply overpriced, especially for a lunch menu. The jambalaya is the way to go. Not sure if I would return for anything else. Find somewhere that has a better deal!

I absolutely loved my meal. I will be coming back on my next trip to Southern MD. I the Swordfish with Green Chile something or other… amazing. They even customized my aunts dish. She is dairy intolerant and they took care of her and made sure she had something that she loved. I will be back for sure.

This place is something special. Such a nice and cute place to take someone. The dim lighting and calm atmosphere makes it such a relaxing place. The service was really friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. I got the soup and special of the day. It was really worth it. Trust me when I say this is a good spot to take someone whose company you enjoy. It is a sure treat. Cheers.

One of my favorite restaurants in Maryland! Everything I’ve tried here is amazing! We come back east once every year and even though we eat at restaurants in Washington DC which have Zagat ratings and multiple awards, this restaurant is one of our favorites! We have never been disappointed!

Excellent place to eat on the water… I love this spot only been here a few times but it’s my favorite in the area… prices aren’t to bad either. U pay for quality food and that’s what u will get. Had the Valentine’s Day special lamb chops and it was to die for. Can’t wait to come back. Only thing I don’t like is they don’t take reservations

Awesome meal last night. I had the breaded pork tenderloin special with mashed red pepper potatoes and asparagus. Others at the table ordered the Asian wrap, seafood pasta special and buffalo chick wrap. Everyone loved the food. Dessert is pretty awesome with crime brûlée and a salted Carmel pretzel brownie sundae. The place is small so you might have to wait on a table. There is a bar in the same building that you can wait in. Now my favorite place on Solomon’s.

We have eaten here a few times this is my first check in here. All of the salads are very good and come in a half sizes also. The stuffed ham sandwich is very good and is paired well with potato salad. The garlic pizza is also is also very good and they have a bunch of homeade deserts that you should get before ordering your meal.

Our 2nd time here — both times at lunch(we’re at a marina close by). Last time I had a burger– it was fabulous; tasty and juicy didn’t need much like sauces or additions I devoured it. Hubby had curried chicken salad — was delish! This time we both had a cup of great tasting clam chowder and the special of the day; Greek cabbage rolls made with lamb and beef, a yogurt sauce served on a chick pea cake over spinach — was absolutely tasty! No room for dessert again:-( Service attentive and pleasant Try it it’s great!

Cute and cozy restaurant tucked in to Solomon’s island. We had the special-tuna on a bed of Israeli couscous and kale. It was topped with two delectable shrimp. Delish! I had to fight my children off of the shrimp. What can I say? They know good food. We also had amazing New England clam chowder. Definitely get the New England clam chowder. They make their own ice tea. You can have it sweetened or unsweetened. The staff was charming and very nice. Plenty of parking behind the building. Tip: Save room for dessert. They have lots to choose from listed on the board next to the door.

Enjoyed lunch here with my husband. The red sangria was refreshing, and he really enjoyed his craft beer. Highly — HIGHLY — recommend the curry chicken salad sandwich, and also the black bean oup, with chorizo added. Fresh ingredients. Daily specials that are always changing. Homemade desserts that look/smell/taste amazing. Very personable service. Small/intimate setting, and count on having to wait for a table(there is seating outside while you wait, or you could wait next door at the wine bar).

This would have been a 3⁄5 because the food is edible but based on the price to quality… I had to take a star away because the high expectation that isn’t met and also the extra fees they tack on for sharing food. Underwhelmed and overpriced, don’t let the pretty plating fool you, definitely a time when you can’t judge a book by its cover. I felt cheated by the end of the service both in price and taste, service was just blasé. The prices are astronomical for a tiny«café» in a small seasonal town. There are no beers on tap and mediocre wines to boot that aren’t worth the bottle. The food… oh… the pretty food, the photos of food and the drool-worthy descriptions, I wanted to try all the food but I’m thankful I didn’t order more than I did. Ahi Tuna with fried oysters was on special, so specials are usually pretty spot on, but this was NOT the case. The plate consisted of a pile of tuna drowning in a bland seaweed salad with 4 fried oysters on the other half of the plate with some cocktail sauce in between. I’m not even sure why these two things were even together on the plate… they weren’t even meant to be eaten together, so it was confusing and a let down because I thought I was getting something as a whole. Next I had the Tenderloin Napoleon which was Stacked grilled beef tenderloin medallion smaller than your hand with wilted spinach, Portobello mushroom, Boursin cheese and balsamic vinegar reduction drizzle… the cheese literally slide off the top of the tenderloin, the meat was not tender and hard to cut through(I asked for Medium Rare) and the spinach wasn’t just wilted, it was kinda burned. As soon as you cut into the mushroom, the whole plate was filled with liquid… made the dish very messy… probably if cooked better, it would have been better. Scallops BBT was Grilled sea scallops on saffron aioli crostini. Topped with chopped bacon, basil & tomato concassé… sounds amazing doesn’t it? It was Not. We got TWO… just two scallops that were heaped with more tomato and nasty bacon than anything else, trying to hide the tiny scallops I suppose. What the hell?! Lastly, the White Pizza which had Roasted garlic and shallots cream cheese spread, bacon, mushroom, fresh tomatoes, red onions, spinach and Parmesan cheese could have been amazing if they hadn’t over-topped it with the spinach and if they had used better bacon. The bacon had a strange taste as if it was microwavable or Oscar Meyer. Just junk bacon, they should probably invest in black forest or at least something with better flavor. Total cost — $ 47.53 o_O In conclusion, this place has the right idea for food on paper, but their execution is poor. ALSO, watch out for the hidden fees, they gouge you an extra $ 4 if you want to split an entrée and an extra $ 2 if you want a half portion(our server didnt even bother to tell us this after she offered it). Why the extra money? Seriously!!! If I want to share my plate, its no business of yours, I didnt ask for anything special from you and I’m ordering the exact same amount of food. Bull-honky! UGH!
