My husband and I went to Saddleback Ridge Golf Course for the driving range. They have really great prices(a large basket of 65 balls for $ 7.50) and the setting is pretty nice with rolling hills and trees in the distance. FYI — There are two buildings and they aren’t labeled so it was confusing which one was the club house. Turns out, the West-most building(from the parking lot, it’s the one on the left with the glass-paned French doors). The front French doors take you into the club house bar, while the side door around the corner takes you to the rental desk. I watch golf tournaments on tv and I have an interest in the sport as a spectator, but I’m definitely a beginner when it comes to actually playing golf. I used to be a dedicated softball player and the muscle memory I have from that seems to have a terrible impact on my ability to swing a golf club. But since I want to pick up a new sport and learn a new skill, I’ve been talking my husband into taking me to a driving range for a while now. The staff here were friendly and very accommodating of my beginner status. I haven’t bought equipment yet, so they let me rent a club set for $ 5(granted the clubs were way too long for me and the grips were disintegrating with every swing). Beware though, if you show up at a peak time they only rent club sets for use on the course(not for driving range use).
