Berengaria

Like the coastal weather, the tiny Danish town of Solvang is ever changing. Stores go through incarnations and fluctuations, but keep their eclectic character over the years.
We were scoping out the main street when we spotted a small boutique with ornate delightful scarves and purses. We loved the bead and rhinestone bedecked tunics hanging in the window, and went in for more. Variations on peacock feathers, flowers and vines hypnotizeded us, I settled on a rust and turquoise tunic that has become my garment of choice for occasions as varied as dinner with friends, or meetings with art groups. I have been asked over and over where I got it, and can happily describe Berengia on the main street of Solvang for its delightful whimsy.
The owners were also upbeat and friendly, a fun shopping experience.

This cozy clothing & accesory store has been here for 30 years, whod’ve thunk it? And they have some VERY unique clothes, shoes, purses & jewlery. You’d never expect ta find such special stuff in this small Danish town. Hell, I haven’t found that great of stuff even in most L.A. stores. :) The prices can be a bit ridiculous ($ 79 for sandals? sheesh.) Thank goodness for the $ 19.95 rack.
The gal was very knowledgeable and gracious with info on the city & she even put tissue paper in the bag for a top. So thoughtful! I’ll be back next time for sure.
